Should be some good snow melting this afternoon and next 4 or so days. :cool2:

Before the get slimy I plan moving 5 BIG snow banks w/FEL back drag the driveway, other than that little puttering and there.

Enjoy the day all.

Good morning all;

35 degrees this morning. It rained hard last night and finally turned to snow. I had about 2-3 inches on the lawn this morning. It'll all melt as soon as the sun comes up.

You might want to wait until after your trip so they don't have to go through withdrawal. But they are around your area already if you want to give them a treat...and sounds like they have plenty of flowers to use at your place.

The hummingbird migration map shows the early scouts are as far north as Boston. We've had our feeders out a week, but no birds, yet. Our first last year was April 15.

They actually use both helicopters and fixed wing aircraft for speed enforcement in many states, and have since the 60's.

I know...but I think in this case, the LEO was BS'ing me...

31 out this AM. Yep, a wilting morning for my tulips who just started to ascend. Man, it was tee-shirt weather yesterday, and later on today the same. The air is clean and cold. The turkeys are having a field day in the back and I have seen quite a few strutting their stuff these last few days.

All done with the tree clean up. Branches really, but when one of the silver maples drops a branch, it's usually a candidate for the wood stove. This one was no exception as I took 21 pieces cut to firewood length back to the shed for the maul!

Today, I think I will take it easy and rake out a horse pen and if I am up for the challenge, start the bush-hog process for the year. Lube, sharpen and switch to a tractor.

Have a great day all. Be safe!

Happy Holy Week!

Yesterday the wife and my lovely 8 year old and I continued our program of clearing out the small trees, cedars, etc. to clean up the shore lines and view lines of the ponds etc. We are prepping for a major remodel and (plans are almost drawn!!!!!) trying to spend a few hours every weekend on beautification projects. I used the little Echo, daughter used extended limb loppers, and my lovely queen managed mostly the wagon loads to the bonfire pile. I'm getting better at dropping small trees on target.

I'm thinking about picking up a 2012 Gravely 48" deck Kawasaki motor ZTR to supplement my LX266 that still has no juice (I did find my owners manual though). My guy also offered me a less used JD 54" but not sure I want to spend that much.

I'm going to put a for sale sign on "Trusty Rusty" my 88 Ranger Snow Plow because the constant minor maintenance is just not my scene and I'm going to replace it with a slightly bigger, newer, more trusty unit of some sort.

My new job is awesome, my wife is wonderful, my youngest daughter is beyond words, the cat is sweet yet demonic, the dog is a good dog. We've designed a cool house we will build upon the existing basement. Legal troubles continue but I'm playing the long game and I keep getting a little bit more time, every time...

I hope and pray all are well here.

Love y'all.

Be well,
Daid

Thanks Drew, lots of people on Amazon also think they are the quietest and rank them high.

31 right now...should hit close to 60 today and sunny.
Got the dump run and such done yesterday. It was too wet to hit the field for trying out the Kahr pistol and the AR-7. I'll see what it looks like this afternoon...
I do have to try to fix a door handle. It's one to those exterior (deck) doors that has three locking lugs which are actuated by pulling the handle up. I don't know the manufacturer (house and door are just under 30 years old) so no idea where to get parts or if they're even available. The problem is the set screws in the handles (inside and outside) keep loosening. They tighten against a rod (square tubing with an open seam the full length). The set screws go into the seam and, after some use, spread the seam (loosening the setscrews). I'm thinking I may be able to drill (spot drill, at least) holes opposite of the seam for the set screws...hope that works.
