good morning all. The new weather forecast is pretty depressing actually, now they predict one to three inches of snow on Sunday and temps down to 22 degrees. That will take out a lot of my fruit orchard; even colder than the 25 degrees that froze it last year. Sure was hoping to get lucky here but the forecast is not helping.

not doing particularly well this morning since my left forearm injury from yesterday picking up something heavy has not gone away. Felt like a snapping, shocking pain, and then I could hardly raise my arm. Can hardly do so this morning, couldn't even hold up a coffee mug. Thankfully I am right handed but looks like I sprained something, made some tendon or muscle really unhappy. Hope it goes away soon, needless to say the bucket load of topsoil stayed in the FEL and I did no digging yesterday. Never had this happen before.

light showers this morning, not much, warm in the low sixties, pretty much the high of the day.

26 and a high of 30. It isn't going to get any warmer than 30 all week with flurries in the forecast, too. I got most of my snow piles moved. There is still to do, but it is rock hard.

daugen: The older we get the easier it is to hurt ourselves and not realise it until the next day.

Town Meeting wasn't so hot...I can see my local taxes going up....seems like the people that showed up voted for every increased expenditure (and tax) that was brought up. Boy, I got to get out of Vermont!

51 after temps dropped 13 degrees as a front blew through and dropped some rain a little while ago. Should recover to 69 this afternoon. More talk of snow this weekend.

Well, I got to my 7:30am county meeting about 10 minutes early yesterday after a 25 mile drive, only to find out I was a day early! Well, I made the best of it and hit the gym on the way home, but now have to repeat today. Should have looked at my calendar, not at my memory.

46°F and cloudy this morning, clearing and going up to 61° today. Mid-60s the next two days, then cooling and snow possible for the weekend.

Severe weather missed us overnight, but we did get a little much-needed rain.

Everything continues to go south on the kitchen install. I'm waiting this morning on a callback from the Lowe's installation manager. Already spoke to the store manager. Wife texted me that the installer is on the phone this morning, too, and that he has a regional manager coming out tomorrow morning.

Once this nightmare is finally over, I'll relate all the details in one story.
... and we are definitely ready for it to be over.

You've got me nervous now. Wife has contracted Home Depot to do near 9k of windows replacement while I'm gone working here in Texas next couple of weeks.
I hope the situation goes better for us but it doesn't look good at first the start as the wrong stuff and wrong measurements showed up in her first precheck with them.

Lenny, hope you do better than I did. Contractor subbed the job to Mexican framing crew who had no idea how to do remodeling work, only new work.
All 32 windows had to be taken out when we realized they had put a lateral 2x4 across the drain holes, and the windows were filling up with water.
That crew was fired and a trained crew brought in to fix, which of course meant a lot of the custom siding surrounds had to be redone. Windows work fine,
thankfully.

Headed downtown this morning, have to pick up a prescription and will get a sling for my arm. I need to put it out of commission and it will heal itself.
I can move it around, so I figure nothing too bad, but it won't support any weight at all. As I believe a few of you have reminded me, time to chill.
Discouraging that so many parts can not work right at one time...said the TinMan looking for his oiler.
Am going to stop at a welding place and see if I can buy some of their sheet steel in sizes bigger than what TSC sells.
And I'll get them to put it in the truck. I can drive the truck right to the barn and slide it off on to a roller cart.
This train ride shall proceed at reduced speed...

I've been thinking about the hard freeze Sunday night. I think I will have the orchard sprayer filled with water, kept inside the barn of course, and go out at 3am and spray the orchard with a fog of water. Have to be very gentle with flowers and buds. My new high power lights on the Kubota will come in handy, just park that at the end of the orchard and it should light the whole thing up adequately. Not like I don't know my way around those rows inside the fence. A cold wet operation, but guess I don't have a choice if I want any fruit.
It would be cool if there was a setting on the orchard sprayer to make snow... the local kids would love to see that. Looks like they'll finally get to see it, and for sure, no school on Monday.
