Good morning all, 44 this morning going to 52, there was some ice on the tree at the back door but not much. It was 31 last night. Noticing the lack of cars going by out front. so I wonder what the roads are like. We live on a busy side road. 100% chance of rain going down to 60% this afternoon. Not sure what I will do today, we will see.

Wngsprd, My dad would always cut the tree, a cedar. He would have it picked out weeks in advance but if I went with him we would hunt all over for one and end up at the one he picked. He also had another tree picked out that was not as pretty and he always showed it to mom first so when he brought out his first choice it looked better. Stupid old farmer.

23F snowing mid 30's for high....1" of snow so far.
Depends which weather station to believe...2-4 or 6+ before early afternoon,either way still clean up but least warmer temps.

Monday all ready weekend was blink,hope next 1 1/2 work days also blink.

Blew leaves for hours yesterday still more to go but new blower is simply amazing very powerful and not too heavy. Stihl 600 very economical to run and not too heavy. Impressed by its power and only two tanks of fuel

36 degrees in steady rain, warming up today, glad it wasn't ice for my drive this morning. No rush to leave, going to wait until after rush hour and head down 295 through NJ and then about a third of the way down Delaware.
Gas prices sure shot up in NJ, always used to be a bargain, no more.

Good morning! 50˚ wind from the north again. I'll mow for the last time today, after this it will just be mowing leaves. No freeze for this week.

Gasoline did shoot up about 30 cents after Thanksgiving. The people around here are hoping it will continue to rise so the drilling will start again . . . well at least the landowners with mineral rights.

My sister is worried over her chickens, the temps here will stay below freezing for three straight days starting soon, getting down to 10 degrees Thursday morning. But then it will be only 19 in NC and that's relatively a lot colder.
In fact, reminds me to turn up the portable heater in my rv...

A dull, misty start to the day, but at least there are no strong winds for the next couple of days, which is great as I have tree surgeons starting today. No, that's not in search of Christmas tree married bliss like wngsprd, but it will make me feel much better - at least that's if all goes as intended.

Despite doing my best to get the cooperation of the railtrack people, supplying them with the risk statements and method documents they wanted, I have got absolutely nowhere with them in getting them to agree to a time for the trees to be cut which are growing on my side of the boundary fence. I don't want to let the trees grow for yet another year, or it will only make it worse, so not much option other than to get on with it best we can without the rail operators consent. Wish me luck. May be best if I don't post pictures on this one

Maybe pay a tree service to just cut them down, and you can haul away and cut up?
