Good evening all. 70F and rain this morning, 2.3 in in rain gauge tonight, double the forecast. Have some more rain in the forecast for tomorrow, don't know if will get any mowing done. TMA for today was well minimal, had a bad night, digestive track out of whack from rotavirus :(

Probiotics. I've gotten to where I take them on a fairly regular basis. Not every day but atleast weekly and they work. I can thank a bout with campylobacter about 2 years ago for the need to still take them.

I second the probiotics. I use it at least once per week, and my digestion has been better.

Drew, we have 4 cats, and 3 dogs. All of the cats, and 2 of the dogs were rescues. My wife and I agree, no more cats!! Much better to let the dogs out, cleaning a litter pan for a grown cat can make your eyes water...if not worse. My boxer girl has stayed in the house over 12 hours a couple of times, and she has never had a accident. Her dad, Bubba, would go out every morning and patrol his fence, he walked around the 2 acres we have fenced in for a back yard. He pooped back behind trees along the fence line. He always acted embarrassed about doing the deed. I miss him more than my relative's that have passed.

34 right now...high in the mid-60's today.

Busy weekend...mowing, work related stuff...not much time left over for fun things.

Remember watching Star trek and watching them tap their little things on things chest and talking to people far away and how far fetched it was at the time?

Ed

Oh no, if Star Trek is coming true, I better hide from the salt monster now. Those of you living in California will be as defenceless as me, they will never give us a permit for a phaser.

I was expecting rain at first daylight, but fortunately something slowed down it's predicted time of arrival, allowing me and a somewhat sleepy dog to get around the sheep mostly in the dry.

Have to admit that weather forecasting has come a long way in our lifetimes, most obvious on the days when we get to know when something is coming our way to within an hour or two.

Just poured second cup of coffee. 63° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 66° with rain in the morning. Great day watching boats cruise up and down the river yesterday. Not much planned for today. But as usual something will show up.
Good Morning All.

O yes they will give you one, it will just be so weak that it will be "make mad mode". :) Ed

Enjoy the day all.

Good morning all, 60 this morning going to 70 with a 30% chance of showers. So nice to have cooler weather. Still need to work on putting in a door into the pantry. Will see if I get it done.

David Are you sure you want to plan another trip? Sounds like you are about tripped out.

Mostly Praying you feel better soon.

Have a great day, Ed

cooler morning, in the sixties going into the high 70's today. Last dry day for a while so have lots to do.
Need to move travel trailer up to garage so I can work on it. Taking it up to PA this Saturday including a trip back to the dealer to fix
a room slide that needs adjustment. Then next Tuesday off to Delaware to another rv park to stay with friends there, then home. Vegetable garden has finally
wound down so I can get out of here.

eating a Yoplait pumpkin yogurt this morning and it's awful. Too sweet. I should remember to avoid the seasonal stuff. The flavor is usually fake "engineered"; better I stick with blueberry and strawberry.

Will finish the mowing by doing the orchard today. Got a formal proposal from my fireman helper to provide full mowing and landscaping services next year. Kind of gagging at the cost and will need to crunch some numbers to see if I can afford it. Both my wrists are swollen right now from mowing so the handwriting is on the wall.
I may have budgeted for this "some day" but surprising how time flies... though I keep in mind that almost twenty years ago the orthos of the time said I would likely be in a wheel chair in ten years. So no complaining since I'm doing better than expected, no whining anyway, just trying to plan and making getting older work.

Mostly, get fully better, not mostly... ;)

Yeah..."Soylent Green" and "1984" come to mind.
I think the future is more dystopian rather then utopian.

only if they take our tractors away...
but yeah, the need for security is likely to change our freedoms.
Virtual reality will become standard, holograms everywhere. Everything recorded...

And then wait until the aliens come.

62 and cloudy, going to 73. Yesterday again. No complaints.

Well, I rushed the tilling of the front field late yesterday, it was still too wet in many places. This field is the slowest to dry, very little slope, and kinda sags in the middle. Tillers don't perform well if the soil is too moist. I had to hand rake some clumps out afterwards in the dark. Trying to get some clover seed out today before the rains come in this week.

I think all but 2 hummingbirds have taken off. The garden spiders are out building their webs. I think our last magnolia bloom has dropped, and there are acorns on the ground back in the woods. Definitely looking like autumn.

Is there a particular reason he can't keep working hourly? I can think of many reasons hourly might be more favorable for both parties, especially you.

good question. I've done the math, his proposal is heavily discounted during the summer so as to reduce my cash flow in peak months. He then likes getting paid during the winter months and he has included six hours a month off season for work around the place. And I don't have to tell him what to do, once he's done it he "gets it", unlike my teenage helper who needs constant attention. I'm figuring he reduced his cost by about 20% for this monthly contract rate. A contract which can be terminated at any time with no penalty. I'm going to think about it for a while and I told him I'd get back to him within a few weeks. Being a retired financial planner, I try to practice what I preached...make sure you can afford your commitments. And the stock market isn't always going to be high.
