Txdon's new best cool snack:

6 frozen bananas (cut in half before freezing)
1 bag frozen cherries
1/2 cup cacao nibs, like these - Cacao Nibs Organic - Also Known As Cocoa Nibs, Cacoa Nibs and Raw Cacao Nibs - My Spice Sage
(This makes about 6 servings, eat what you can and freeze the rest)

Alternate putting in the banana halves and cherries and a spoons full of nibs into a frozen desert maker like a Yonana's

The combo with the cacao nibs make it a wonderful cool delicious healthy ice-cream - without milk, sugar, or fat.

Ron, I hope you are feeling better.

no thank you, I don't even want the girly sized rattlers. I want mama black snake to eat them all.

six hours of lawn mowing today, got it all done, fields, orchard and lawn. No trimming just seat time.
Going out to dinner shortly and I'm thinking about a nice extra cold beer. Then I'll ask for Don's Dessert

WOW the more I read about things here and bugs, critters and other stuff. The more I know why I will put up with winter and stay above the Mason–Dixon line.. South of there nothing dies!!!!
Anyhow we all love what we have,, blind to anything else as my grand dad would say.

Trust me, there are days I wish I had a single story on a postage stamp lot.

Oh. I'll go even farther. There are days I wish I was a tenant again.

Now as soon as a friend gets here, I'll be changing out that leaking hot water heater. Looks like it'll cost me half a bathroom floor.

Yeah, I have one tenant. Nice kid, young girl. Always pays on time, doesn't cause a problem. But she recently acquired a new boyfriend. A non working, bum, who tells me that he is a expert at everything. Everything he touches, goes south....

Sounds like me when I work on old plumbing...

Tomorrow is a big day here. We are hosting a junior youth fishing "tournament" here on our pond. I hope the fish cooperate. It will be hot so we are starting it at 5:30pm on the shady side of the pond with plenty of cold water and lemonade abound. It is our church's youth group and our lesson will be "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, Teach a man to fish and he eats for the rest of his life." Unless he has my fishing luck. We will cook hot dogs and see who catches what. Most of the kids are girls, so it will end up being kind of a daddy/daughter fishing time, the day before Fathers Day.

Good morning. No rain and none in prospect for the next couple of days. With little wind and some light cloud to shade us from the sun, outside is definitely the place to be this weekend.

On the face of it, there do seem to be an awful lot of creatures out to get those living in Texas. I hadn't realised killer bees were on that list too, although they don't sound quite so fearful if they can be dealt with by soapy water. It is all relative though and there is one thing not yet mentioned that I suspect could rank much higher on the deadly list. This nasty has spread world wide over the last hundred years and even Ed will have to watch out for these - killer cars . The strange thing is, many spend a great deal of their lives applying soapy water to these too...

Kyle, your fishing event today sounds great. I rarely went fishing with my dad, it was too much of a blood sport - mostly his blood. I have never, ever, been tempted to have a stud through my nose, or any other sort of body piercing since, so there was a lesson for life in there somewhere.:)

cooler weather has come in, 65 now going up to high 70's. Going to be a nice weekend, just like in Shropshire.
I have to admit Eric, I never connected the dots of fishing lures and nose piercings, but I see the similarity.
Must be hard to have a teenage girl (or boy I suppose...) who desperately wants more than earrings...
Most of my life I've worn zero jewelry, just a watch, but having gone through the 70's with the gold jewelry that was all the rage,
I'm happy to be plain now.
Funny I had one friend who said marriage was like having a ring through his nose. I kept tactfully quiet.

Farmer, that fishing party sounds like great fun. Hope the weather cooperates with you.

I said yes to going to watch a ten year old play baseball this afternoon; at least the field has bleachers with real seats, stadium seating. Am taking a small back pillow with me anyway... Got all my mowing done yesterday, today I rest and then it's take me out to the ballgame. If I could take my kindle along...well, I can't...

Coffee is done brewing. 53° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 89° with lots of sun. I have poured out more coffee from the coffee pot in last week than I have in last 10 years. Back on track to drink my normal 2 cup per day. That should cure what ails me.
Don did not mention the Scorpions. There were a few of them when we were doing the paver project. His redemption is deserts like the one above.
Good Morning All.

Good morning! To beat the heat I'm starting out at 5:30AM. I have a Backhoe job this morning - replacing a culvert for Mom, and need to be on the road soon to beat the heat. I was planning on doing this in the cool winter but it was too wet. Her old cement culvert has several big holes on the top and I'm surprised she has not called me to pull her out of the culvert.

Good luck on your fishing tournament Kyle I hope you still have some after that fish kill off the other year.

No pic of the bees today it was too hot to put on multiple layers and go to the back yesterday.

Ron, I did forget scorpions. If you remember a few years back I reported getting stung while typing a post on TBN. It was more painful than a wasp or a spider bite but the pain went away after 4 hours. The swelling is more than a wasp and less than a spider.

45 right now...heading up to 85 today.
The wife and I are heading to the Lebanon Home Depot this morning to look at cook top stoves and refrigerators. I'm pretty sure we'll buy the cook top.
Probably wait until early evening to do any mowing.

58 going to 81 and sunny.

Yesterday had to drive through the western side of Richmond heading to Chesterfield...many trees down, power poles snapped in half, street lights out, one trampoline torn and bent and blown about 100 yards up to the road, etc. It really was a bad storm. Still 87,000 sites without power.

Son and GF and their boxer came yesterday, so had a nice visit, some chicken on the grill, and played corn hole till dark.

Be careful, I took our daughter fishing and I caught a bunch of 10" to 12" fish. She caught only two fish. The first was a large mouth bass that weighed 4 3/4 lb and on the next cast she caught another large mouth that weighed 3 3/4. I have never caught bass that weighed that much. That was the last time she went fishing with me. I hear she is fishing some now that she is grown and on her own. So be careful you might get shown up. Ed
