Trying to sort thru my generator situation.

My primary is 24kw diesel, mostly Chinese components and built in Arizona. Just days prior to our trip it malfunctioned - water pump. Since then I have tried to find a replacement or fix. This week, the dealer that built and sold unit finally got back to me. No part in stock, have to order from factory. No follow up since. And I've asked for the part number to to to find on my own. I did send a couple of emails on Aliexpress.com and am awaiting response.

I wasn't overly concerned for the house/dog sitters as I have a Ridgid 8000 wired in, although an inconvenient manual start. Adequate with the spa turned off and decent sun. I gather the sun here may have gone on vacation when we did and they got about 18+ inches of rain.
While we were in Ft Lauderdale, Lenny contacts me to inform me that the Ridgid is not running well, but one of our friends is trying to help out.
Of course, I have a backup for the backup, my tiny Honda Eu2000, so I rack my memory and tell him how it hooks up (pre wired, just plug in) and I will change the control settings via Internet. Give him suggestions how to monitor and run. Of course, we leave on the cruise the next day and didn't have good internet, but I monitored when I could. They only had the system shut down once, the day we were in Puerto Vallarta. Other friend had taken the Ridgid to a neighbor for repair and was bringing back that day. I told Lenny I wouldn't change the settings until I knew they had made the switch, never got the word.

Naturally, our first day home was the best sun day in 2 weeks. Started the Ridgid and while it sounded better, it was only producing 44 hz power :( took Ridgid into town Thu and the last guy that did warranty work has closed shop and only works on mowers at his house. Took it to another repair place and guy said I should be able to get it back Fri, determined it was running rich, but didn't know why. When I called Friday after lunch it hadn't been touched yet. Shop closed Sat and Sun. Maybe I'll get good news early in the week. As this generator has almost 500 hours, I don't consider it to be a reliable backup any more so I need to determine a replacement.

Honda 2000 still running strong.

Life is great :)

Poured first cup of coffee. 47° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 55° with a misty rain. Not going to be a good day for outside project. So it looks like a NASCAR afternoon.
David S, hope you get your generator problems solved soon.
Good Morning All.

51 and rain...started raining pretty hard at 5am, and now letting off...good timing since I need to check the gauge at 7am.

Went to a very nice fund raising banquet up near the mountains last night - Project Healing Waters - a charitable organization that helps veterans recover from their injuries through flyfishing and fly-tying. Heard some stories from some vets that brought tears to my eyes. Tom Brokaw was the keynote speaker...all under a circus style tent on the grass along the banks of a trout stream in the drizzle and rain. A very good group of caring volunteers.

62 this morning and headed to 78 today. Rain looks to be about over although there is a chance about lunch.

Think I might spend the day working on the new ranger. I need power back to the bed for a sprayer. I'd like to hard wire it with the plug at the bed.
Plus I'm thinking about adding some flood lights for working. Maybe two rear and a light bar forward.
Think today will just be a figure it out day though. Maybe I'll get to TSC today.

Good morning all, 54 here this morning going to 72. There is a chance showers or thunder storms every day and night threw Sat. according to NWS. Now that the tractor is sold the grass is growing strong, will have to get the lawn mower out and attack it the best I can.

Our dog won't drink coffee ether but I gave a hamster MT dew one time. Never again, reminded me of a sewing machine wired to 220 volts.

Blackberry winter almost always comes when the blackberries are blooming, a week or so of cold wet weather. My wife grew up calling it the sheep rains. No idea why they called it that.

Hope you all have a great day. Ed

An overcast 45 right now. Rain coming in and the temperature is predicted to hit 52.
Got most my outside chores done yesterday, which is good. Today's primary chore is the replace a bath room faucet. After that...we'll see. Need to get a couple cups of coffee in me first.

Drew may have been up early this morning...I sure wasn't! 0300 might be mandatory during the week...but weekends, no way!

Good morning,
Cloudy, cold, rain, and general overall gloom. Again!

Installed the goose neck street lamps to the train table yesterday. To yucky outside to do anything outdoors.
Not sure but might do brakes today on Katie's car. I got all the parts delivered, all she has to do is show up.

Sam first time I'd heard it called that so thought I'd use it. As we get closer to June the heat comes on and dry too not looking forward to it at all. Hope the rest of your weekend is good

Buppies i have heard it called everything i guess it just depends on where you live and whats in bloom. I bet the dogwoods up there have already bloomed. Another one of them old folks saying that kinda has me a little worried about planting my garden is, grandpa always said if it thunders in Febuary on that day it will frost in May. That did happen a few years ago on the 19th of May this year it thundered on 21st so i'll watch long range forcast for sure.

Day 6 of rainy, cool and dreary. 60's today, 82°, then back to 60's and wet for several days. I'm looking 15-20 days out and I'm seeing nothing but warming here, after this week.

Have a tummy bug going around our family. Hit me last night/this AM.

Dropped wifey and son off at church, need to go pick them up soon.

Low to no chores (LTNC), yesterday or today. Have plenty to do. Taking antibiotics, have to stay out of the sun.

Just started season 2 of Justified. So far, so good.

I did not weather as well as I initially thought. Behind the barn the 70mph wind toppled this cedar tree on top of my backhoe (under the black tarp).

planted about two dozen azaleas, rhododendrons, and other small shrubs; my helper brought twice as many as I thought he was going to, and his brand new never been started one man power auger was put to the test. And seriously failed, totally incapable of going through tree roots, and we were planting out the lane, all next to large trees.
So...back to the barn we went, off goes the ballast box, on goes the big Land Pride auger I have and slowly but surely we got all the holes drilled. Nothing like that nice crunchy sound when the root finally gives up and is ripped apart. Needless to say, with roots I run the tractor just over idle. That way I can hear it start to labor a little and know the bit is biting. And I would much rather stall the tractor then break something, though I've never stopped the bit once since I've owned the phd.

Once that was all done, we were supposed to head to the River and fix a friend's dock, but I was too tired. Plus it started raining ten minutes later so glad we didn't try.
Next Spring the entire driveway will be lined with blooming azaleas and rhodies, so it should be pretty. I still have another dozen bushes to plant, he had a trailer almost filled with closeout deals he works with the local Lowes. They know him, and cut him good deals to take the end of lots. But he has to buy them all, and for less than half price, he does. And other than a little browning due to Lowes inconsistent watering, the plants looked fine.

Started my day off by spraying the fruit trees, again, second time in three weeks, bugs and blight. Overall most of the trees are doing well, except the last three cherry trees; not sure any will survive. Have had bad luck buying trees from TSC. They just don't survive for some reason and I plant and water carefully.

Don, ouch, sorry, glad it didn't hit a house. Hopefully nothing dented underneath...?

btw, my blackberry bushes are now blooming nicely.

I have a dilemma. If I start to remove the tree from either end it might put more weight on the BH. I cannot tell if it is bent now. I need to think about this for a bit.
