Good Morning. 0705, overcast, 58F with 99% humidity. Forecast high of 76F with 90% chance of rain today, and a low of 62F tonight. Cold on the way for Monday morning. Hoping for no frost. I'm going into work early today, giving the boss an early start to her weekend.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

35 this morning and headed to 67 today. It was just trying to frost this morning. Grass had a shimmer to it but cars weren't crusted over. Sure that will change this weekend.

Need to do some experiments today. Find out how high my loader will stack hay so I can figure out this hay tarp situation. There's a thread in the haying forum. Then sow some seed so I have some hay to bale.

Eric. Good to hear Max is mending. Those terriers are tough dogs. Except mine freezes below 69* and is hot above 75*. I call him my climate controlled dog.

Poured second cup of coffee. 61° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 86° with plenty of sunshine. Cold/allergies are sticking with me. Going to spend time inside trying to kick the congestion.
Good Morning All.

Good Morning all
It is 35 here this morning and supposed to go to 63. Snow saturday through sundaay night. Be a good temperature to cut the tree I have to today. It hangs out over the neighbors storage trailer and is dropping limbs on it.
Am going to the credit union today too. We are down sizing, we have to mow or 4 to 4.5 hr's a week here just to keep up and leaves are a huge problem as well. Had one big snow (for here) and a little one and I plowed for over 8 hr's just here.
The new place will have 1/3 of an acre and a short drive way. Yep this country boy is going to be a city slicker. Wife wants me o get a used Steiner with a few attachments, over kill for 1/3 acre but I think she just wants me to have a toy to play with. Also hope to build a shop in the back yard to play in. Hate to do it in some ways but with life what it is it is time.

Eric glad Max is getting back to normal.

Don, Just might have to use your idea at the new house, looks great.

Ed

Welcome to Good Morning Ed, sorry that you have to move, but if you're ready for it, I understand. I have about 24 hours of mowing staring me in the face right now, but the fields are too wet to do it. The weeds get higher...

Since the kids are out for spring break, nobody is up but me. Waiting for the wifey unit to get up and make coffee. Inlaws spent the night here. They will want to go get some breakfast tacos at the local taqueria (known far and wide).

I need to get a haircut today, and try to knock out some chores. The oak pollen outside has turned everything a greenish yellow. It is horrible for a few weeks.

You folks up in the northeast better get ready for a round of winter weather. Hope it's your last for the year.

Don;

Christi made the 6 pm news on Houston KPRC / NBC Channel to tonight. An alligator out in Ft. Bend County near Richmond / Sugar Land Area. Looked to be about 6'.

Her Dad made the story as well.

Thanks for the info. We only get Austin news in Lee County and she usually texts us when she is on but I guess a 6' was not news for her (unless she would get bit.) I'll check kprc's web site.

Very neat work Don, you measured and built that formwork to perfection (And I'm not only saying that to try and get better grades in food classes next year :))

You're working up to a D-.:teacher:
Is the grading system in the UK the same as here - A,B,C,D,F with a possible pluss or minus after each?

Good morning! Cloudy with a chance of rain this evening. The grass is taking off but so are the wild flowers so the extended yard will be wild for a few months.

A question to the Good Morning Club: Is anyone experiencing PVCs from morning coffee caffeine? A PVC fells like a flutter in the heart or a skip and might make you cough. I noticed one day last week that I was getting them frequently so I stopped my caffeine intake. The first day they dropped off considerably and were gone by the third day.

I will miss that morning coffee but I have switched to hot Rooibos tea and no more PVCs, and now that the dull withdraw headaches are gone it's all OK.

Good morning,
Sunny but colder at 34. Today with a high of only 49 still not bad for March. Just waiting to see how the auction goes later.
TXDon, I have had that it started when the doctor told me to quit Pepsi in the morning and go to coffee and he put me on Amlodipine for my BP. I had it so bad I had to switch from the Amlodipine to Lisinpril to make it stop. even then it took a week or so to calm down. Are you on BP meds??

Not yet. But caffeine withdrawal headaches are a major problem with me. I try to avoid not drinking coffee in the morning.

Good Morning! 41F @ 9:30AM. Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High 59F. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph.

waspKill.jpg

Have been making a lot of calls the last few days setting up appointments with various tradesmen for the work needed on the parent's house. Hired a realtor Wednesday, she recommended an exterminator for the wasps (the photo is yesterday's kill, ugh, just killed another one, and there are five more buzzing round the mantle piece) and Asian beetles that are swarming inside, oh and the Asian cockroaches. They were here yesterday and pointed out the missing pieces of cedar siding on the north side of the house that are letting not only the bugs in, but also enough rain water to damage some of the drywall. The old boy that was living here wasn't keeping his promise on maintaining the place very well, and there's more water damage to the first floor subfloor as well. The asphalt driveway is in pretty rough shape as well, and those folks will be out for an estimate Monday or Tuesday next week. The septic folks'll be here today to pump what the old man proudly claims is almost 20 years of "accumulation". I do have a very reasonable quote to have the carpets cleaned, but that'll have to wait until after the house is empty. That's the one bright spot, as I spent a few hours with an auctioneer yesterday afternoon trying to get an idea of what could and could not be gotten rid of that way. It turns out he's very knowledgeable about art, coins, and guns, of which there seems to be a fair amount of here. I don't think it'll be enough to offset the needed repairs, but every little bit will help.

And speaking of the siding gaps, I was searching in the basement for some trash bags and came across some plastic grocery bags full of short ends for the cedar that was used as siding for the home. I'm hoping there'll be enough to make the repairs, and with snow due in tomorrow, it looks like I'll be spending some quality time up on a ladder today. Now if only I could find the ladder...

The other great news is that yesterday I finally got a working Internet connection for the laptop, so can easily type instead of using that ridiculous voice recognition robot on the iPhone. That was a real goat rope, with my old cell provider informing me that they don't allow tethering, and actively block it, and moving to another one called Straight Talk, who's people did anything but, promising tethering in the sales department then claiming it was not allowed when I contacted their off shore tech support to find out why it wouldn't work. In the middle there somewhere I stopped into a local Verizon store to see if they could help, and while they had plans that permitted tethering somehow they all required me to give them a Social Security number for a credit check. That's not info I readily give out, especially to phone company low life. But after the Straight Talk fiasco, I tried calling Verizon to see if I could get a different answer. There's no land line here, so my only phone was the same iPhone I'd be porting to their system. Their phone robots kept hanging up on me when I gave them the iPhone's number, claiming that I wasn't a Verizon customer and to call my own provider. Talk about being their own worst enemy! This, even on the sales phone line! But I eventually got through to a live person, who took my info (less SSN) and promised 24-48 hours to activation. By the next day there still was no transfer, to I called again and ran through another five or so people, each of whom performed one step of the transfer process while I was still on the line. When it got to the network person, he said that the phone number was still with my original provider, and had never been transferred to Straight Talk (this in spite of the $55 charge made against the ol' credit card), so that's another item for today's agenda. But after an hour and a half or so I finally got to hang up, and lo and behold the phone and the laptop work together and I can relate my boring stories once again to my TBN buddies.

Well that's enough catching up, and I'm glad to see a few new faces here and that everyone and their animal friends) are mostly doing well.

TGIF gang!

52.4F and sunny @ 11:30 with a high of 54F predicted for the day. Good bet that we'll exceed that.

All sorts of 502/504 "Bad Gateway" errors in trying to get on this morning.

Got in a little seat time yesterday grading the driveway and moving (new) wood chips down to the east side planting beds. Really need to get the dump cart out to move the rest of it. Also gathered up some firewood that had been dumped in with the wood chips and worked on piling up the rotted wood chips (compost)

Since it's so nice out, will probably try to get some more seat time in today, I although I'm not sure doing what. Might have to move some firewood into the shop and start thinking about getting back into various projects, like finishing up the root rake/grapple, wood chipper, etc.

The new batts for the alarm came in a few days back, so will probably get one of those installed, until I get the dual battery wiring harness.

Last I had it checked, roughly 30% to 40% of my beats were PVC's ... which is a little on the high side :D

Been like that for so long (probably at least since 2007, when I had the stent put in) I really don't even notice them anymore.

Who knows ... they could have been like that for far, far longer.

64°F and only .16 inches rain yesterday afternoon and evening.

Got shot in both arms, picked up Tundra with new wiring, but rained out from fitting cement boards yesterday. Hoping for a dry day today.

Stay safe
Have a great day

got a lot done today, trying to get stuff done so I can leave for PA tomorrow for a few days.
The most fun was planting Georgia sweet onions and some Kennebec potatoes. I'm told that potatoes you grow yourself
have half the carbs. Absolutely. I think Don told me that...;)

A Teaching Moment::)

Ok Drew here's something to remember when you bring up my name and carbs. It's the fat, not the carbs. Carbs are good if they have no fat.

#1. In a recent study, restricting dietary fat (NOT CARBS) led to body fat loss at a rate 68 percent higher than cutting the same number of carbohydrate calories.

#2. The reason why is because Carbs burn fat.

So if you want to loose weight 2/3 faster cut the fat calories, not the carb calories.

Wow thast is a lot of PVCs, do you notice some are harder than others? I was getting worried because about 1 in 10 - 10% heartbeats were fluttering (feeling) because of PVCs. It does feel better with only 1 or 2 per day. The Dr. last year (after I wore a monitor for 4 weeks) said they were normal but I don't like them. Have you tried reduction of caffein. Some people (me) have a sensitivity to caffeine.

Another beautiful day on the sun drenched Delmarva Peninsula, looks like a cold rainy weekend here and I have to go to Front Royal Sunday. They're supposed to get an inch or two of snow. I hope not! Have great afternoon!

No meds except a statin. I was on the regular "heart attack" meds for about 6 months after my heart atack but Dr. approved slowly got off of them for about 4 1/2 years now.
But (always a but) about a year and a half ago I started drinking coffee in the morning (1/2) cup but got up to 2 cups sometimes lately. PVC's come in direct porportion to amount of caffeine. I know everyone's different and you will just have to experment find the cause but apparently caffeine is a common cause for PVCs.
