36 going to 66.

Been under the weather, but will try to make the best of this nice day with some ladder exercise - an exterior home inspection for any touch up caulking or staining needed before the cold. Also have a couple of vinyl panels on the Andersen back doors left to reglue. These are door-like panels that are same size and next to the door panels but do not open...so cannot be clamped after the glue is applied...so last time used a long cedar log anchored into the ground by a piece of rebar, and then pressed against the panel with a strip of lumber to spread the pressure. Seems like there must be a better method - one that some of you probably employ.

Already did my Black Friday shopping - ordered 14 lbs of green coffee to roast for Christmas presents and got a pound free.

Drew, have a safe trip home...hope I-95 is good to you.

59 this morning and headed to 65 today. Rain coming in after dark.

Had a good thanksgiving yesterday eat, nap, eat. Today it's back to the grind. Chicken coops still need a lot of work to get them ready for birds. I get half on Tuesday so I need to get heat on Sunday. Pulled pond pump Wednesday as it had fell off its barrel and some how it managed to break the 2" PVC line about 60 feet from the pump with 15 feet of flex line between pump and PVC. So I still have to glue that back together. Then pull pump back in.

Also Wednesday I ordered another tractor. This one to replace the failed attempt at the LS purchase. This one is a Kubota MX5200. Still a give me 10 days. But not because they didn't have the tractor. But they only keep the parts for the first remote and I wanted 2. So he had to order them and with the holidays he wasn't sure how fast he'd get them. No deposit required with this guy. Other place required a purchase deposit. Priced me Kubota insurance also. I was very impressed with how reasonable it was. A little over $400 a year. So what I'm getting is a MX5200, loader, bucket, bale spear, pallet forks, 2 rear remotes, rear work light, R4 tires loaded with a soybean oil, and a RMF2584 finishing mower.

My sincere congtratulations to you, David...I recently remarried and am very happy. I could make a joke that being married so close to Thanksgiving Day will make your anniversary easy to remember, but out of courtesy I will refrain, ooops...sorry !!!

Good Morning. 1120, sunny, 73F with 68% humidity. Forecast high of 75F with no chance of rain today, and a low of 55F tonight.

I'm just back from three days and nights at the camp. Lots of moonlight and howling coyotes. It was pretty cool the first night, but mild since then. We are doing Thanksgiving this afternoon. What started with Margie asking a half dozen of her friends over has morphed into 15-25 folks, according to who is up from south Florida. Lots of good smells coming from the kitchen this morning. I'm trying to stay out of the way until needed.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

Good morning all. 43F here in MO, rain and near calm breeze. they have changed the forecast for here, as 43F is now the high, and 36F is the new low, no snow on Saturday now. Had Thanksgiving with family and friends, ate too much :). Working on car issues, granddaughter wants to buy Vue, has wheel bearing issues and intermittent check engine light. Might have that all taken care of by Tuesday :cool2:

David (Moss) Wish I cold be there, congratulations and best of luck, hope all is well with your daughters.

David (Sadamo) Belated happy birthday.

Drew safe and easy trip home

Farmer great news on your boys hearing, keep us posted. I have to wonder if an HE washer is what you need for your work clothes :2cents:

RS looking good ...

Mossflower, congrats!

Farmer, you need a pto driven washer for your work clothes. Hope you enjoy your new tractor.

Good day all!

home safe and sound, just a little over 5 hours, mostly surprisingly light traffic, plus this time I went 75 instead of 72, or basically stayed with the traffic. Less relaxing but once I got into NC, the traffic disappeared and it was fine ride home. Now to go out and blow some leaves back where they belong, far in the woods. Nice day, about 71 out now.

David/MFW, you are likely out racing from one to do to another on your list, perhaps a Tums now and then, but from all of us, have a wonderful time, congratulations, and be safe with that bonfire. And for sure, we had better get a picture of the bride and groom on your tractor!:drink::cool2:

My HE Samsung drove me nuts. Stupid electronic songs it played drove me crazy, always trying to mute the annoying noise, plus it didn't let enough water into the tank, we even called Samsung, and it just did not deal well with large loads of dirty blue jeans and other clothes. However! My Maytag HE washer at my current home is excellent. If I'm concerned with the extra dirt in the clothes, it's easy to push the second rinse button. All my clothes come out fine, and my jeans might not be like Farmer's when he skids in the chicken coop but I've got some grease and plenty of earth/dirt to contend with. And the Maytag does fine.
Ok, send me a million dollars Maytag. I'll split it with my tractor buddies....:D

Back from visiting the farm. traffic was light today, and I also stopped and bought some Harbor Freight items.

Farmer, congrats on the new kubota.

David, congrats on the wedding.

What does HE stand for on an HE washer?

HE = High Efficiency
We have had the Whirlpool front loader and it cleans clothes good. We just have to keep the rubber gasket around the door dry or mold will grow on it.

Good afternoon! I got all my Black Friday shopping done, yea! I bought some ramps via internet (15% off) and and 3 horse mats from tractor supply ($10 of ea.).

I will soon have to take the Farmall off my tractor list, I decided to take my nephew's offer instead of ordering the parts to repair it. He has agreed to offer it for sale to family members first, if he ever sales it. (The Farmall belonged to his great Grandfather) He is very mechanically inclined and enjoys tinkering - I figured this much when he was living at his Moms he had generators in pieces on her kitchen table. Since he got married, he will probably have to use the garage now. He quite his job and started his own AC repair business - and is doing good. His sister is Alligator Girl.

Today is Alligator Girl's last day on her day job. She will be Alligator capturing full time. I showed her the youtube of the alligator bitting the man that jumped on a gator's back and she said he was standing and should have been kneeling on the back of the gator with his knees pressed behind the gator front legs. He also did not have a safety rope around the gator's neck with someone holding it so the gator could not turn around and bite him. I guess that's why she is the professional.

Congratulation David on day one of Married life.

I will be doing some research before I buy. But I don't see how it can be much worse than my current washer. My clothes go in smelling, and if I don't use twice the recommended detergent and then let it wash for 2 1/2 hours they come out smelling. And not good. Think a wet sweaty chicken mixed with dirt and manure. Yuck. My sister and her husband have the same washer. They love it. He's an accountant at a hospital and she's a pharmacist at the same place. They live in a duplex and don't even mow a yard. Their clothes wash fast and come out clean. I was complaining about ours one day and they asked how much I washed. I said 3 jeans and 3 t-shirts. She said they wash way more than that and asked how dirty the clothes were. I said look at me this is pretty normal for a day. She just said ohh.

Only drawback to going with a non HE washer now is I can forget any savings with the dryer as the dryer is only as efficient as the washer. Washer must get the water spun out of the clothes.

For what its worth i just went through the whole new washing machine fiasco. My 11 year old Kenmore finally gave up to the point that i didn't want to spend the money on repair parts even doing the labor myself. After a lot of hours of research on all the new HE stuff i found speed queen. Basic, normal knobs, select your own water level, actually has an agitator still, metal gears, and an awesome warranty. Plus USA made still. We've had it about 2 weeks and love it. Just food for thought.
Speed Queen - Built Better to Last Longer

Congrats, David. A bonfire reception? Well played!!, sir, Well played!!

For both of us it is our third wedding (third time is the charm!!!!). so there are 3 bonfire piles I've lovingly built from logging slash... and pine straw... Heh heh heh...

The big one down at the bottom left is quite a bit larger than the others... LOL... In 24 hours they will get lit and hit with the leaf blower...

Be well,
David

Have you thought about contact cement, no clamping needed

Just got home from Alabama and arrived horseless. Should of gone to NC, oh well maybe one of those big boys is just not in the cards right now.

David, congrats!!!! It is the 3 rd for both Lori and I and has been wonderful.

Farmer, congrats on the new tractor, sounds like you got a better dealer too. We have a "Kenmore Elite" HE washer/dryer set, I am not impressed.
