Good morning!!!!

73 going up to mid 80's today, foggy out, super heavy dews in the morning. Showers predicted on and off this week, then clearer cooler weather with nights in the low 60's. Several trees are starting to drop their leaves, the signs are there. And thankfully the grass is growing a little slower, even with pretty consistent rain.
I might go out and water trees today; what rain we are getting isn't enough to get down deep enough.

My coffee spoon started to twitch when it saw Don's German potato salad...wanted to dig right in.

Last night I went out to get a few rabbits. There are far too many around here and the dog always appreciates a bit of rabbit for breakfast. As dusk passed and the stars made themselves visible again in a clear dark sky, it almost felt like it was raining, as the water in the air condensed out onto anything it could touch. It has left a thick mist this morning, although the fading leaves in the trees are stiring, so it may not be long before it lifts. All starting to feel like autumn.

Our dog used to catch bunny rabbits but is getting old and the rabbits are making fun of him. Since they chew on our young trees in the winter and do significant damage to out veggie garden we needed to limit their population. I accidentally discovered how to attract owls few years back. So now I put perches (two 8 ft metal fence posts bolted together with piece of perpendicular wood on the top) strategically placed on the property. We have, I think two or perhaps three pairs of "big horned owls" nesting on our or neighboring property. They limit the rabbit population very reliably especially at spring when they have young baby owls.

Drove home yesterday from the Eastern shore of Maryland to Rutland VT in seven hours and fifteen minutes. Never hit any stop and go traffic or saw even one accident. Pretty amazing for Labor day weekend. That twelve lane section of the New Jersey Turnpike and all of the Garden State Parkway were full but moving right along.

The holiday must be over, I slept in. Why am I always up at 4:30 on days off but sleep till 6 when I go to work???:confused3: I can tell I am getting old, I am sore from re-stringing that cross fence and it was a little one.
72 here now and dark, going to 87 with rain and a feels like of 97. Working on a ceiling today so will be in A/C

I ordered my camera set up for the tractor yesterday. 2 cameras and a 7" monitor, also ordered work lights for it. Now I need to find time to install them.

Kev,
if you said this earlier, sorry, but where are you putting the front camera?
I would love to have one looking down at the bottom of my FEL bucket or attachment.
Would be concerned about vibration coming through as a jiggly screen.
Could you start a thread please on this and take pictures of your install? And what you can see afterwards? I think a bunch of us would be interested. Thanks Drew

67 this morning and headed to 95 today. Local weatherman says it's the last day of the year in the 90's. I'm going to hold him to it.

Half of birds are gone. Other half are leaving tonight. So go get them ready and then work starts. Still have those mouse bait stations to tackle. But I don't see anything stopping me today. I can see free time.

Sitting in the dentist chair right now, waiting for the anesthetic to take effect.

Been needing to come for a while. Took almost a full month to get this appointment. The local dentist is good, (and cheap).

Had a great weekend down in Victoria Texas.

66F @ 6:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High 99F. Winds light and variable.

Good to see all fine celebrations over the holiday weekend. Seems like most of you really earned your Labor Day time off.

Last three days were spent motorcycling on a gypsy tour; three nights camped in three separate locations with 125 of my closest friends. We started out in Oreland, CA, with a delicious dinner at a local favorite bar and grill only a mile away from the fairgrounds. That made for a nice walk and a chance to see a bit of the town. Saturday and Sunday featured poker runs with cards awarded for correct answers to questions asked along the way, the clues for which were gathered by reading signs and seeing odd things at the side of the route. Catered meals were served Saturday and Sunday night and it was good and plentiful, I don't think anyone lost weight on this trip. Saturday's destination was originally Hayfork, CA, but the fires in Trinity county had the fairgrounds still occupied with firefighters and no room was left for us. That meant rerouting and re-planning all the meals with only two weeks notice, a huge undertaking but one carried off pretty well. The upshot is that all the riding took place within a hundred or so miles of my house, and on Sunday the route went within a mile of my place. Good thing, too, as one friend needed to work on his brakes, another fella thought he needed a new starter, and I was able to sneak in a quick shower when we stopped by. But by the time I got to Sunday's destination (Susanville) with the starter, the rider had gotten good enough at bump starting the bike that he decided not to fool with swapping his old one out. I suspect that his wife, who was riding pillion, was losing patience and just wanted to get home. That suited me as well, as it enabled an early start and I had breakfast in my own kitchen Monday. But the best part was sleeping in my own bed again, a huge improvement over a skinny air mattress.

Hope everyone gets off to a good start on the week!

74°F and no rain last 24 hours.

Sorted thru my supply of leftover ceramic tile and appears I have enough for both bathrooms in a consistent pattern of four different types and sizes. Now to finish the downstairs drywall. :)

Be safe
Have a great day

Long day, back hurts, good to be home.

Drew, Sodamo is right, there is info there and why I chose to do this, but not the info I wanted. LOL I am not sure of camera placement till I get the system. Having 4 cars (2 trucks, 2 cars) that all have backup cameras, I know they all have different focal views. If this was a perfect world (LOL) I would mount everything to the top of my canopy, but we will see what gives me the best view for what I want. But it is a good thread to start with. BTW I spent a lot more on my system to get what I wanted and hopefully avoid some of the fears you & I have.

KevT.

My Tacoma had a rear camera, my Tundra doesn't but I toy with the idea of mounting one, but one that plugs into current system.
Would think a front mounted camera on my tractor would be very helpful both for Bucket and forks. Many times I have my wife be my spotter when using the forks.

If I get on the edge of my seat, I can just see the end of my forks. Works most of the time. The rest of the time, I trigger the seat safety switch, and shut my machine off!! My wife isn't usually around to play spotter, so maybe a camera would be a idea.

I am hoping. Same with the rear one so I can see if the disc is clogged by a busted root and dragging half the field with it, or lining up the auger on the PHD to my marks. I am to old and fat to constantly be twisting in my seat to look. My favorite camera is on my F250 and was installed with a Sony system. It has adjustable graduation marks so you know exactly how far things are. Perfect for hooking up trailers. My wife's is the one on her Sierra 1500 that was installed with a Kenwood system, it shows a wide angle easier for her to back in between the lines. The Equinox and the Altima I believe are factory and are okay, they just kinda give a picture of what is back there and comes more in focus as you get closer. Keeps you from hitting any trees or another car.

Coffee is done brewing. 68° with light rain this morning. Heading to 75° with a cooling north breeze. Looks like summer is over. Temperatures are suppose to stay in the 60's and 70's for the next month. Lawn cutting day if it drys enough.
Good Morning All.

good morning all. 74 degrees going to 84 in a humid, sticky day with afternoon showers.
Didn't have much planned for today, think I'll work in the barn. I got the heavy duty folding hinges in I ordered, to make a waist high
workstation for working on chain saws and small items. Now that I'm not building a garage for mechanical work, vs woodworking, I'm going to modify what I have already in the barn and make it work. That includes leveling the dirt floor in the barn and putting in a hard floor with left over pavers. Good projects for when the lawn slows down.
