Pretty but cold day here, I feel so badly for the folks buried in the snow, God bless them.

I live in Michigan, so we get our share of snow. But wow!! 6, 7, 8 feet at once? And winter really hasn't started yet. We had a hard winter here last year, and 2 of my neighbor's gave up their homes and moved to town. Both are old widows, and just couldn't take it any more. Both moved to Florida, at least for the winter. They might be the smart ones!

Drew so sorry for your problems removal by saw cutting out applying herbicide (not round-up) and reinstallation. After saw cutting check depth of asphalt to be sure you have a full 2in of compacted plant mix. Avoid sealing for at least one year to give new asphalt time to cure but as they say a patch is a patch.

Wire grass is very invasive and feeds on asphalt destroying it. I do not know any other way to fix it. Good luck my friend

Got coffee pot brewing. 25° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 43° with freezing rain before turning to rain. Up early to get things loaded into motorhome before everything turns to rain. Should be OK not a lot of stuff to load. Then start winterizing the house. Should be ready for tomorrow morning departure.

14 degrees this morning and not sure what to expect today but it will be hitting the mid 30’s and no snow!
My son finished cutting up his deer last night so I will be getting my barn back today so I can work on the snowblower for the tractor.
Alos have my daughter here for the weekend so we will be having an early Turkey dinner tonight as she cannot make it here next week.

27 degrees out, hard frost everywhere, but I was determined, in the hot tub I went at 5am. Oh my...floating there, with all those little pulsing massage jets working on my neck and back, and even one for my hands, made for carpal tunnel, and looking up at the stars. Lots of stars on a clear night. Boy that was nice. Until I got out and reached for my towel. Oops. Frozen with frost all over it. Hmmm. Reached for my heavy flannel shirt as I was getting increasingly colder standing on my back porch with nothing on. Well, LL Bean shirts do freeze, a bit crunchy and also covered in frost. Must have been the water vapor blowing off the hot tub; they looked like they had been out there all night.
Ok, now I hot foot it inside, where I had turned up the heat just in case. Need to figure out a way to keep my clothes/towel warm out there.
A heated dock box?

I think I would rather have the nubile hot tub maiden standing there with a toasty warm towel. Problem is those maidens want a full benefit package.

27F and clear @ 06:00 ... the temp has risen about 10 degrees in the last 3 or 4 hours. High today is supposed to be 44F with some freezing rain/rain ... will be an easy day as far as heating goes.

Been burning some black locust logs up @ the shop that had been sitting out at the perimeter of the backyard for the last ten or fifteen years ... well seasoned you could say. Burns great ... nice and hot ... only problem is it's so @#$! hard - when I went to cut it to stove lengths there were sparks flying off the chain on the saw ... lol ...

Since it's not supposed to go below freezing for the next couple of days, and since it's also supposed to rain on and off, I'm going to move the ballast block out of the shed (if I can) and let Mother Nature keep the 'crete wet. Will probably move it back in Monday night since the temps on Tuesday are supposed to drop again.

Tomorrow will probably be wood cutting day ... let the snow melt today and then have at it tomorrow when it's a little warmer and (hopefully) not raining.

Furnace is still on the fritz ... the HVAC guy thinks it's probably the gas valve ... supposed to call later today with a price and availability ...

19° now and a high of 37° with some clouds.


I'll finish up changing the fluids in my boat engine today and with the warm days coming this week, I'll be planting some daffodil bulbs in the wooded area outside of the lawn.

Something wrong here why are your tub and mine identical in color inside and out? You didn't cheat and look at mine before you ordered yours did you?

25 outside this morning high in 40s later then rain tomorrow and by Monday high near 70 what? Wild temperature swings seem to be the norm for the next couple of weeks until winter settles in. More leaves to get up and more DEF fluid for truck other than that do not have any idea

49 this morning and headed to 60 today. Rain moving in tonight. Have family breakfast in a bit but then if rain holds off and I don't eat too much may try to get second floor joist hung today.

Drew nice to have a resident paver like buppies. As that was going to be my recommendation. And to use Pramitol or another ground sterilizer like it. Be sure you get your rate high enough and don't let it run off.

Mid 60s this morning. We've already had a few passing showers, with heavy rain and storms predicted for most of the day. Looks like an inside day-good day to re-arrange the office. Hope to get a walk in today.

79 and sunny tomorrow. Back on the bike with that kind of weather. Perhaps cars will stop at the stop signs again. Still sore from yesterday's debacle. Car ran a stop sign. It was raining. I locked up the brakes and boom-down I went. Lots of road rash from skidding on pavement and a nice hematoma on the right hip. Looks like a third butt cheek with heavy bruising. Bike was only minimally damaged, so it could have been worse.
