Wait. You are supposed to "clean-up" after weed whipping? Huh. Who knew?

When they are 3' to 4' tall and in the circle right in front of the house, then: yes ...

Actually " weed whipping" was a bit of misnomer ... brush cutting would have probably been more accurate ...

Back about 20 or so years ago we planted pachysandra in this circle to choke out the weeds ... hundreds and hundreds of plants. It was slow getting going but eventually did well ...

Then we made the error of planting a few ferns from Grandma's house ... those essentially took over ... although the pachysandra is still living - pretty happily apparently - under the ferns ...

The deer seem to like bedding down it ...

Now the wild raspberries are making a run to take over ... along with some kind of thistle ...

A number of years ago some lady - I don't remember who she was - was visiting and remarked to the wife that she just loved our "English garden" ...

Apparently if your weeds bloom you have an "English garden" ...

Who knew ?

a warm 68 degrees here, headed to 81; appears to be the last day where temps will hit 80. Showers and rain coming in tonight. Headed to the DMV today to get my NC tags on the vehicles, since my driver's license came in on Friday. And then I have to buy a mattress set since my sister is showing up in two weeks and she won't be pleased if there isn't a bed for her.
None of the national mattress chains are around here; wonder if I should try 1 800 mattress or something. There is so much markup on mattresses it's easy to pay too much.

Just poured last cup of coffee. 63° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 68° with chance of rain all day. Got work on cleaning up shop and barn after doing my latest projects. You would think I could figure out how to keep things cleaned up and put away.

I'll finish up screwing down a few squeaks in the subfloor today and moving stuff out in preparation for carpet. Funny how when you specifically look for squeaks (jumping up and down) you find a few that you never heard in all the years of walking on the same spot. It felt funny taking a box cutter to the existing carpet yesterday and cutting a flap to open to get to the sub-floor...sort of like I was doing surgery or something.

you simply need to teach your trimmer to clean up its own mess, not the operator's fault.

Yeah ... been having cramps and muscle spasms quite a bit lately ... hands, feet, and calves ... and back of course ...

I'm sure I'll get some "expert" advice as to what minerals/vitamins I'm deficient in ... and if the first one or two don't handle it, she'll have several more to inflict ... err ... experiment ... on me with ...

As long as it's not that gawd awful tree bark juice I'll probably just go ahead take 'em ... relatively small price to pay to stop the yappin' I guess ...

I have started to follow Today's Seat Time a little and am always in awe as to what folk accomplish.

Yeah ... I'd like to follow that one a little closer myself ...

actually I could use a couple of days being a slacker. But I'd have to leave here and go to the beach or something. Next year for that, now my adventure is at home.

rswyan try some salt stick pills for cramps. They work wonders and were doctor recommended for me. Lack of potassium can cause cramping and these pills put it back so to speak. I take them to keep from dehydrating and byproduct is less cramping

Good morning, woke up to 67F and it's heading to 70F. What a beautiful day it could be if it doesn't rain, but rain is in the forcast.
