long day, those darn workmen sure keep me going...but
shazaam, in one day I got my barn shed roof put on. Three guys worked well
together, contractor checked on them and realized first thing this morning a piece of trim was missing and he got that ordered to come in tomorrow. I think he wanted to take his completion picture and was annoyed he couldn't because the trim wasn't on yet. But I did...
have some nice miniature sunflowers to plant tomorrow and otherwise I spent over an hour today with the Kubota FEL digging up old piles of pine straw and dirt dumped in the wrong places, and now hauled to the back. Also leveled some ruts near the gate heading to the barn, which tomorrow I will throw some rye seed down on. By next Spring the centipede grass should start to choke out the rye. Floor guys finished the new foyer hallway floor, except for the trim on that, but nice to be able to walk on it. Not perfectly level, which is a disappointment. still has some tiny high spots but with a rug runner and a couple of tables and paintings no one will be looking down at it anyway. I hope. Going to do my maid routine tonight on the hallway, rehang all the pictures, and then take a pic. Two rooms down, every one to go. Actually the laundry room is fine. So three it is. The next is the worst, by far. Ripping out the kitchen floor and the hallway out to the garage, including the half bath, all of which have ruined wood floors. Sigh.
Well at least it's nice and dry underneath now, or will be in two days, as shown on the indoor/crawlspace thermometer/hygrometer they gave me as I guess my toaster for a seriously expensive job. And it is a good monitor if conditions change dramatically. Like if a pipe broke down there, the sensor should note a humidity change.
