Good evening! The wood boat cajun bowl was complete just in time for the cajun boil party. There was no time to put a sealer on it so I just lined it in foil for now. This was the end of the 30th year party for the summer water volleyball group. New people are added to the group as needed, only one couple has made it to all 30. I had to set up a couple of extra tents with then threatening rain and there was a brief shower. A good time was had by all.

Here are the three tools used to cut and sand the bowl. It was very humid this morning so the picture is in a fog. Notice all the cedar dust. I used the WolfSnout mask by one of the venders here on TBN and there was no saw dust in my nose and it was very comfortable to wear.

How much is the hurricane effecting you?

We are in central Texas so the effect is only scattered thundershowers and no wind. Most of the rain is missing us we only got 2 hundredths of an inch rain today, but I do see lightening to the northwest hopefully we will get some much needed rain tonight or tomorrow.

About to shut it down and look at the inside of my eyelids for a while. Hands and legs are cramping up.

Got quite a bit done yesterday (Wednesday) ... am glad the rust is almost gone ... tired of breathing it. Had an interesting development in terms of getting some help ... more on that later.

Don - very cool bowl ... and you weren't kidding when you said you had a frog and a 'gator ...

A friend uses his own concoction of beeswax and mineral oil to treat his cutting boards and wooden bowls (I'm thinking of using it on bare metal tooling in the shop ... lol ...)

42 degrees and mostly cloudy now, going to be sunny and temps in the mid to high 60’s.
I am leaving pretty soon to go to Hartford, CT for an early morning meeting.
Hate the 3 hour drive for a 30 minute meeting.

Poured first cup of coffee. 50° with clouds this morning. Heading to 62° with mostly sunny skies today. Got a call from friends that were camping near our home yesterday. Decided to pack up our motorhome and spend a couple of days at the campground with them. Great evening around the campfire.
