53F foggy mid 80's afternoon.

pleasant cool morning out, another nice day up into the eighties.
hoping to be able to move a doc appt later this week, though I have to see the guy...my urologist, and
the psa numbers are marching up, now at 3.6 could be just age, could be ?
if I can move that fun trip to next week, I can leave tomorrow with another load to NC. The truck bed is full of motor oil, aerosols, paints, a ton of stuff Bekins would not take. and the trailer is close to its limit, and boy is that truck happy with some weight on its hitch. Just seems to get in the groove better, doing what it is supposed to be doing, pulling something.

Besides, they are delivering my Kubota today down there and I'd like to put it away and not leave it and a bunch of implements in the driveway. Luckily the kid next door is available to help. I had to chuckle when I mentioned to him all this equipment coming in, remembering it's all farm country around us and my tractors are tiny compared to most of the neighbors.
I think the only problem i might have is the tractor i haven't had much experience driving one. But i am a very fast learner if you show me the ropes i will be good to go

now I liked the fact he admitted his limitations. He's young enough that I might be able to do some mentoring if that works out. No job, new baby. Well, he is about to get put to work. I have to learn to do more finger pointing and less lifting.

Make sure you are healthy before you go. Try and see the doctor if at all possible. Plus the fact I expect it will be raining at your new place for a few days. Towards the end of August mid to upper 90s will show up and you'll have plenty of time to get everything situated just right

Since I moved here in June 2004, I cannot recall an August in Virginia this nice.

Almost every night the windows open, humidity low, and not even close to a 100 degree day.

Very nice. Hung out at the lake with friends yesterday doing nothing.

I've got two job fairs this week and legal crap on Friday.

Good morning! This month is the payback for the mild Texas winters. The sun has yet to rise and it is 80˚. It's going to be a hot one today, at least I have the A. M. to get things done.

Yep, I could get spoiled with these August temps - 60 again this morning, and high only 82. Problem is we need some of your southwest Virginia rain over here, Buppies. Very dry.

The moon was really orange when it rose last evening but I could only see about half of it for a few minutes, then it was behind a distant thunderstorm and clouds until 10 pm or so. I did look 'super' this morning but no orange color.

70 degrees and cloudy here with a 90% chance of thunderstorms in the forecast for today.

I laid down yesterday afternoon around 16:00 after being up for 24+ ... and promptly slept for 12+ hours ... dead to the world ...

Spent most of yesterday working to resurrect my old desktop computer system ... the hard drive file system was getting flaky awhile back and it finally bit the dust when I tried to fire it up the other day to use my CAD program to figure out/finalize the pivot pin points on the grapple design.

Stuck another HD in and got OS 10.3 installed on that so it would at least boot ... and finally managed to get a version of OS 9 installed on two drives (so I can use "Classic" and which I need to use the CAD program) - one of them an external Firewire drive, the other one the internal RAID 0 array - which the utility now says is flaky as well. That sucks - because it has around 400 gigs of stuff on it that I really have no place to move it to. I do understand hard drive have gotten way cheap though ...

Current problem is that I can't get the computer to boot off any of the drives or OS'es other than the one I originally installed OS X on. It will boot off the OS 9 and OS X Install CD's though ...

It's rather odd ... in that the OS 9 System folders show up as unblessed when booting into OS X off the hard drive ... but show up as blessed when booting off the OS 9 Install CD ... :confused2:

Even tried zapping the P-RAM several times ... still no difference ... option key at boot to select the drive to boot off of, pick one of the alternates ... the computer promptly either ignores it ... or eventually says the drive is not bootable.

I guess my next action will be to pull the one (internal) drive it will boot off of - to force it to boot off of something else instead .. or to allow me to install an OS onto one of these other drive that the computer sees as valid ...

Night before last I finished up plumbing the copper air lines on the east side of the shed. Did a quick clean up on the bench grinder and the Delta Sharpening Center. Was cutting the angle for the sawhorse legs and the bandsaw started tracking weird so I pulled the blade and found it had a crack in it ... threw another older blade on it and it's still doing it ... so that's going to get a brand new blade and get the guide wheels properly set with a feeler gauge today.

Also cleaned up/repaired some air hoses and de-rusted some trampoline springs for a neighbor.

Hopefully today will be productive and not just spinning my wheels ...
