Good Evening. 1930, partly cloudy, 69* with 93% humidity. Forecast low of 65* with fog. We had a few showers yesterday, and a few more today.
Let me tell you about my day. But first, I had an early appointment to have my teeth cleaned yesterday, then did my tour of the farmer's co-op and all the thrift stores. I bought several shirts and a couple of pairs of pants. Went in to work to water the lobby plants and set up for a Christmas party, but didn't have anything last night or tonight. Margie had a postcard laid on my keyboard when I got in last night. It was from our mail carrier and looked like this.
It reminded me of what Margie had already told me. That on Saturday when her and Sister had got back from a day of shopping in Panama City, Sister had backed into the mailbox, and it was wobbly. So about mid-morning I went out to the road to see what was what. I found the post was broke below the ground, and I would have to change it out. Just as I was starting to get my tools together, it started raining. Since it was almost time for the mail to run, I propped it up the best I could and waited out the rain.
While I was waiting, I put on a load of shirts to wash, including the ones I had bought yesterday at the thrift store. One of the shirts was a new blue silk shirt, which I had paid $1.00 for. I had planned on washing it, and another silk shirt together on the gentle cycle. But the phone was ringing, and the sun had come back out, so I forgot and washed them all together. The rain came and went, and I worked on the mailbox as I could, putting the shirts in the dryer during the rain showers. I did remember to hang the silk shirts and not put them in the dryer.
After another shower sent me back inside, I got the shirts out of the dryer, only to find I had dyed four of them a real nice shade of blue. And I had dried them, so the color was good and set. Two were the ones I had bought yesterday, an OP golf shirt and a Tommy button-down. Since they were new, and I had only paid a buck each for them, that wasn't too painful. {Other than being so mad about my lack of good sense} But there was a Duke brand shirt which I really liked. It is yellow and the blue is real faint in it. So there is hope for it. The other is a brown fluffy woven shirt, and the stains on it just look darker brown. It's a cold weather shirt anyway, so I won't be needing it too often. I put all of them in soak with Oxi-bleach as soon as I saw what I had done. I will rewash them tomorrow and see how they do. If they don't come out, I may the only guy on the block doing yard work in a button-down.
Thanks for listening to my rant. I'm thankful my problems are so trivial. I just hate it when I do stupid things, even though I should be used to it by now.
JD, my prayers go out to you, your GF and her family.
Drew, if I had known all it took to get out of using a chainsaw was wearing sneakers, I would have 'forgot' my boots years ago.
