i hear you i do i am so far behind where i thought i would be. got my butt soaked today trying to mow, it's every day rain at some time durring the day.

I bought me a BRIGHT RED little Ford Focus today for my commuting. should AVERAGE 31 mpg... and it is cute to boot...

I think you'll like that Focus. Of course the Focus replaced the Escort and there's been a number of changes, but we bought a new 1993 Escort station wagon with a manual transmission, and in more than 100k miles, the overall average was 32.585 mpg. When my wife totaled it, we bought a new red 1999 Escort 4 door sedan with automatic transmission; only put about 39k miles on it, but the overall average was 32.982 mpg. Generally, I think the newer vehicles get better gas mileage than the older ones did, so unless you have a lot of heavy traffic to drive in, I'd expect you to do even better than that 31 mpg.

Way back in 1984 as a starving sailor my car broke down and I traded it on on a brand new Ford Escort... It was a good car at the time, and one of only 3 new cars I've ever bought.

This one had 23,515 miles on it and I got a pretty good deal I believe, I talked him down $1,200, and I talked the finance guy down $600 on the warranty extension. I got a bumper to bumper 48 month 100,000 mile warranty, so I predict I will be trading this one in about 77,000 miles from now...

31 MPG average will be MUCH better than the 15-16 I've been getting in my truck... Plus everyone thinks it is cute...

Up early this morning to finish packing the truck and going off to camp for a week or so.
Lot of things going on up there this week with fireworks, pig roast, doing some finish trim work had lots on my mind and
just had to get up.

Chance of rain is 50% with scattered Thunder storms, looks that way right through the 4th!

Going to look at a Deere 855D Gator today, then taking the wife shopping. Hopefully, if the rain holds off, some tree trimming and chipping after that.
