There are lots of things to prevent and treat gout, but for bad flare ups nothing beats a course of Prednisone. Get the doc to prescribe you a course to with a refill for next time. Honestly it's a miracle you were 14 years between flares, normally when they start they increase in regularity and intensity. I've had my Prednisone on hand for years now, need it about 3 times a year. If I realize it's coming on and start right away, within a few hours I'm fine.

Up late last night, friends had a bonfire party. Lots of fun, but I'm moving a little slow now. Have a good one, guys!

Randy after the last bout with the gout I developed type two diabetes and now take three shots a day. Have been eating peanuts which probably helped set it off. My own fault but it had been gone for so long. The shots allow you to cheat a little bit on what you eat. It is really raining hard here now.

Prednisone and diabetes are not always a good combination. Steroids can run your blood glucose up even higher.

Farmgirl19 all sorts of antibiotics and steroids can increase sugar levels in diabetics it is a fine line you have to walk to keep your levels under control. It is sorta funny that toppop52 name Randy is mine as well

Roy: Yeah, laundromats are no fun, unless there is someone entertaining to "people watch." Hopefully, your laundromat days are numbered.

They are...

If the loan comes through, we'll be closing late this week or early the following week. The house has a nice washer and dryer. If the deal doesn't happen, or there's a last minute problem, we're going to buy a washer and dryer.

Fingers all crossed Roy....Let us know as soon as you know...I have a good feeling you will be in that house soon.

Good luck, got my fingers crossed for you too. We used the laundromat for eight months when we were building the house. It does get to be the least favorite thing to do.

Good Evening! It has been a super weather day, and a good day for grilling.

You know what is sad? I didn't have any beer in the house. :( I always combine my grill'n with swill'n.

Anyhoo, the chicken was eaten with a mix of white and brown rice, chopped onion, and broccoli.

Mmmmmmm, grilling sounds good

Headed to a friends later, supposed to grill some dogs and do something with a softball. I did ask if het husband could possibly put up a fence. Can't run, but just maybe I can still hit. She replied, not to worry, the fielders can't run either - should be interesting :)

Got a couple hours mowing before the rain.

Our weather is too localized to guess if it will be raining where the softball is, but hey, grill'n and swill'n work for me.
