26 degrees right now...high of 34 predicted.

This will be interesting to look back on someday I am sure.

One decision that I think I will propose as soon as we reconcile will be to start looking into renting this place out and moving back to town somehow. Either buying another place, renting a place, or ???

I think long term I will need to sell Mossflower Woods and do a few things differently the NEXT time I buy country property.... Like make sure the house, garden, etc are up to the wife's standards and needs when we move in. etc.

Be well all,
David

David, I do wish you all the best, however this all works out for you and your family...

Now, our updates:
We thought we'd try one more mortgage broker before bailing out. I sent her the letter of denial from the bank in Kansas City and she invited us to Burlington (VT) to discuss it.
There were two issues....one being what was considered "sporadic and temporary employment"...well, I worked contract QA since early 2009 and "sporadic and temporary" is the nature of the work. That's why we charge such a high hourly rate...to cover the lean times.
The other issue were collections on my credit report...two of which I had paid and the third was disputed (wasn't my debt). We had proof of one since we had the paid in full receipt (the KC broker never asked for that...the dollar amounts were small and he hadn't thought they would be an issue).
Anyway, long story short...the Burlington broker ran the application through her underwriter (who, in turn, discussed it with another underwrite). Both considered the application good for the loan.
So, the broker ordered the appraisal (shouldn't be a problem).
Our problem may be the sellers won't approve an extension to our contract...we'll know that today.

But if there's one thing I strongly encourage...you're entitled to one credit report from each agency per year. Make sure you get them and check them for errors...don't ever depend on any creditor removing negative information even if it isn't correct.

David and Roy...I feel bad for you guys, dealing with such headaches isn't easy and I know it's stressful. Keeping you in mind and hoping things go right for a change. Have spent the past two days running new ethernet cable to four different locations in the house, my DSL only gives me a maximum of 1.59 mbps when plugged into the router, and wireless performance drops off to 1.41 mbps only ten feet from the router. Would have been easier to route cable ten years ago with the walls open, but we all know hindsight is 20/20.

Roy, agree with you about getting a credit report every year, but I only request one from Experian. Even though I disputed incorrect information numerous times from all three agencies, Experian was the only one who did a satisfactory job of correcting the errors. I was amazed at how difficult it was to get anything corrected...seems like just because "the computer says this" most people you deal with accept that information as the Gospel Truth.

Good morning, 34 degrees and sun is out today. Have errands to run today maybe daughters softball game this evening, so far 4 games postponed due to snow on fields! Going to be cold if they play tonight..

Roy hope things work out for you this time around.

David best of luck hope the new plans work out for you, but use caution before you surrender all of your dreams. Marriage is two way street. You don't want to be forever a pawn.

Roy dont give up there is usually always a way and if you want something bad enough you will find that way just the fact that you didnt lay down after getting shut down from the other banks shows that you want this house bad and i think you will find a way to deal with the sellers. David I cant help but feel im missing something here I know you had issues with the horses and things but im not sure why at this point your not allowed to live in your own house i dont know you but you seem like a good enough guy for better or worse is how its supposed to be. and if when thing get bad she just throws you out of the house i think i would just send her back to the city where she will be happy and you stay in the country (if finances allow)where you are happy the two way street thing is out the door it seems when it comes to your wife i guess what im trying to say is GROW SOME BALLS hope i dont sound harsh but sometimes people just need to be woken up

Frosty start to the morning with a mix of cloud/sun for the day and a high of 8C/46F.

Roy, glad you are getting a chance at saving your house deal, hopefully the seller agrees to an extension. :)

David and Roy, we are on your teams. Don't give up.

Roy and David, God bless you and help you through to a positive result.

Low 50's today but windy and dry as a bone, tried to paint the mesh I welded on my trailer gates yesterday but more blew away and onto me than got on the trailer.

I need to start cleaning up all the tracks I made in yard with RV. Plus all the sod that got ripped up when snow blade cut it away. Need to get outside and get some fresh air.
