Greetings.. been occupied for a few days, airplane stuff.

Now, I've worked on some old stuff before, but this is the first time, I think, I've ever seen a FELT RING used for a grease seal--talk about old school! I'm sure some of you have seen similar on tractors, but it was a bit of a shock to me; guess I've been spoiled.

The felt ring on my right main gear inner seal was at least 1/8" larger in diameter than the axle...no wonder the brakes didn't work too well!:laughing: Oh well, nothing a couple of cans of Brakleen didn't fix!

Not quite as cold here this AM, only around 29, but frosty again. At least the wind has finally died down... had the woodstove going all night and most of the day yesterday. Glad nothing's in the garden yet! (How's that for an excuse??

)

Last time I saw such grease was on very old washing machine.

30F Clear sky and now winds,around mid to upper 50's before another brisk night sets in.

Good day to pick up branches/limbs and blow the pine cones over the banks again from 2 days of high winds.

And not just any cup, the Seattle Coffee Company mug I got for 10 Pence (20 Cents) from the local goodwill style store.

Here it is raining, cloudy, cold and overall miserable.

I'm glad I got the lawn cut on Saturday put it that way.

Looks like today will be a bit warmer today, and the wicked north wind that's been blowing is supposed to subside, finally. Might actually get over 55 today!:thumbsup:

Thomas- the housing is two of those stamped-steel rings that screw to the drum. Seal is sandwiched between them.

41 here, rained much of last night and it's still drizzling now. Weather forecast predicts 86 degrees by Thursday afternoon....wife just left for work so I am going to go dial up my favorite **** tube....:laughing:
