Taxes done. Twixt state and feds it was a good year... Netted a small refund. Today I'm moving some bottomland dirt to the back of the yard for a half-dozen blueberry bushes.

Yesterday it was close to 90 and the AC is on very early in the season

I love sleeping with the windows open, the wife does too (but her allergies do not) It was 64 outside at 0430 when I got up...

I'm not ready for 24x7 AC season...

Was chilly and very windy most of yesterday, today there was frost on the ground and it's 33 degrees. Hoping to mow today for the second time this year.

Had a minor fender bender yesterday...Wife and I were in the local Post Office parking lot mailing out our tax forms.
We were stopped, waiting for the lady ahead of us putting her outgoing mail in a drive by mail box. If she'd gotten a bit closer, she wouldn't have had to get out of her car...but she was too far away from the mail box.
While we're setting there, an older gent backed out of a stall parking lot right into our F-150 (a big RED supercrew). As I was getting out to check the damage, he backed into our truck again! The first hit startled us, but the second one really startled us!
He pulled back into his spot while I was checking for damage (and keeping an eye on him in case he backed out again.
He didn't even realize he'd hit us...twice!
Older guy...and I kept my temper (which is good for me) and we exchanged information.
Relatively minor damage to the F-150...pretty good dent in the bumper surround of his Honda Accord.
It's a shame, really...older (70's or 80's) guy...and he probably shouldn't be driving...especially since he had no idea what he'd done...and he did it twice.

Several new record highs set around the area. I spent the morning & early afternoon puttering on my plane in a large hangar, had sweat dripping down. Way too early for that.

Ron and I worked on my dump trailer yesterday until I cried, "UNCLE!" One of the shuttle valves is locking when we go to lower the trailer. It may be the way the valve is oriented. Instead of a "T" it's like a "T" laying on it's side and gravity wants to drop the ball and lock the valve. The shuttle works fine in one direction and locks up when fluid tries to flow backwards (like a normal checkvalve). Anyhow, I didn't have enough of the right fittings to change orientation of the shuttle, so we're gonna try to get the right fittings today to change the plumbing. Just from the few times the trailer hydraulics worked, it is fast, REALLY fast! When we get it working, I'm gonna love it.:thumbsup:

Thomas: What is going on with your weather? It sounds like the middle of summer there. Whew! 90+ degrees this time of year is a killer.

I have a neighbor that doesn't want to quit. 88 and dangerous.

My father has become that way and he refuses to admit it. No accidents that I know of yet but I can not ride with him and yet can not convince him he can seriously hurt someone ecspecially with his last minute braking and tailgating. He is 89 and refuses to admit that age has its limitations. Not sure what to do before it is a serious event. I feel for you Roy and only hope insurance company will step in if he becomes that way. Do not know if Sec of State will do anything.
