Setting here in a motel in beautiful downtown Kingwood, WV.
About an inch (or less) of snow on the ground...but a thin skim of ice underneath. Going to be windy today...
We looked at three houses yesterday. All nice, but my favorite (20 acres, house and outbuildings) was needing the most work. Mostly cleaning...the pole barn had been set up for a flea market...still is and all the sale items are still in there. I don't know who owns all that stuff, but it's got to go before we buy it (if we do).
Now, there's also a very nicely restored '28 Chevy sedan in one of the buildings!! That can stay!!
As far as tractoring...yep, be a lot of that. As far as shooting...just step out on the back deck.
One more to look at today, then heading back to PA.

Good morning all!!! Its 26 degrees out with the 16 mph wind it feels like 8 degrees out. The wood stove will be running full force today. Waiting on the boss lady to get up then I will start breakfast and coffee. Might bundle up and haul wood up from the barn with the new tractor. Have a good day all.

We've had a small cooling front move through. Yesterday it was just up to the 50s and today it will make it to the low 60s. This morning is 28F with a frost. I'm sure glad I didn't do any early planting during our warm spell. Of course, onions would love this weather, but it's been too wet to get into the garden. Maybe I can get it all tilled up this next week if we don't get more rain.

Going to go visit and see my new great-grandson later today. WOOHOO!

EDIT: Good house hunting, Roy! If you buy the place with the '28 Chevy and need somebody to take it off your hands, just let me know. I'll tow it for free.

28 degrees here, about 8 inches of snow on the ground, most of which fell yesterday. Just saw a pair of sandhill cranes about 250 feet north of the house, surprised me as I have never seen any here during the cold weather before.

Hey, Roy, that sounds like a winner! Hope you get the job you're after.

We got, as Thomas said, about 5" of snow here, and I'd have to agree with him-- this feels more like winter! It's the very first time this year I've had to use the snowblower on real snow, not slush, that was over 3" deep. It wasn't powder, for sure, but the blower took care of it, no problem.

Love my paved driveway!:thumbsup: After a few hours of intermittent sun, it's all cleared off and drying. (I'm still learning how to take care of it.) Makes me itch to get one of my two-wheeled vehicles out!!:laughing:

Before the pavement, I'd be looking at two inches of ice for two weeks....

19 degrees here, got the tractor out yesterday afternoon and plowed 8 inches of wet heavy snow off the grass/gravel part of the driveway. Probably the first time I have used the tractor this month.
