Drew, my favorite, Canyon De Chelly, looks like you can see from a few of the overlooks still. We were able to walk down there many years ag. Basic Information - Canyon de Chelly National Monument (U.S. National Park Service)
Montezuma Castle, another favorite and not a long walk from parking: Photo Gallery - Montezuma Castle National Monument (U.S. National Park Service)
I have done these monuments. Great places to visit. Camping near by. Just south of Canyon De Chelly is Hubbel Trading Post. A NHS. There were guided tours of the Canyon when I visited there around 2011.

Mowed some more in the tree plantings but got stuck in the mud that was hiding in the long grass. It is not worth much with mud around and when the deck gets buried in the mud it is time to go for help. Did get all my walking in hiking back to get the RTV and return to pick it up. Looked for a moment like I would have to go get the tractor but jerking the RTV got it out

Frits, glad you got your mower unstuck.

lovely day here in Lancaster, a little breeze, read my book under the awning in this very quiet campground. Almost all very large fifth wheel campers.
Folks next to me from Pennsville in Southern NJ

my friends could not come over for a drink this afternoon, their meeting ran hours late, so they are coming at 9am tomorrow and we will spend the day together.

fields behind the campground planted in corn.
just had some Costco stuffed peppers for dinner, not bad.
now some cherry pie and ice cream.

The tree did have some VC vines on it which I cut out but the leaves on the tree are in clumps of 5 and serrated just like the VC vine but smaller leaves about half the size of the VC vine. What's interesting about this tree/bush is that the limbs bunched up at the top and then the limbs drape downwards.

Good (Tuesday) morning. A very upside-down overnight Low, down to 2.3C @ 2100 and up to 10.2C @ 0230. It's presently 13.2C, gusty winds, overcast & raining (predicted for the rest of the day). There was 5.2mm of rain in the gauge @ 0900.

So, it's an 'inside' day. At least the tanks are full. (y)

That's about it, take care all.

Basically 3 AMCs: American (think Nova, Falcon, Valiant/Dart), Classic (Chevelle, Fairlane, Belvedere, Ambassador (Impala, Galaxy, Fury).

My first car was a Rambler Classic. The lay down seats were a feature that sticks out in my mind. A wonderful thing for a teenage boy to have at his disposal……
I think mom's was the ambassador.
I was maybe 10 years old, but I thought it had an inline 6.

55 climbing to 82...feels so good outside, didn't want to come back in. Today is perfect mountain day weather, but my foot is giving me trouble, so I'll wait a day or two.

Took Della on a short hike...gradually increasing distance, then grilled some wings and corn and the first squash from our garden for supper...also, ate the first cucumber from our garden...very sweet flavor.
Hope the foot gets better soon, maybe taking shorter trips with Della to rehab???

Coffee has finished brewing. 39° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 72° with sunny skies. Did not look at to do list yesterday. So day was spent conserving energy. Did take Sassy for a walk to back of my property. Have gardening to do today.
Female Grosbeak. Have not seen male for a couple of weeks.

good morning all
cooler today, 61 going to 73 today
needed to turn little electric heater on in rv

this is a lovely campground marred only by the truck tire whine
and jake brakes coming off Rt 30, not uncommon for these places because they are often situated near main roads.
I must admit I liked hearing the clip clop clip clop of the other place better but layout in this campground much more open.

coffee brewed, up early...friends coming over at 9am to spend day with me

Fuddy thanks for restaurant info. I don't know if friend is cooking tonight or we are going out. All three major "attractions" I wanted to see, like the railroad museum in Strasburg, are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. I'll remember for next time, will come Wed and Thursday instead.

having problems with autoleveling jacks. Was going to work on them yesterday afternoon but in case they really failed, wanted to wait til I got home. I have to "reset the null" again. Plus at least one of the rear hydraulic jacks makes a loud squeal when put down. I lubed the cylinder but that did nothing. guess I need to crawl under there and see if the mount is somehow loose. Very important those jacks works as I don't have room to carry all the manual alternatives.

so what makes a hydraulic cylinder squeal like crazy?
bad seal?
no signs of leaks anywhere
dealer always has only one solution, replace the whole part, which will not be cheap.

If the mounting bushings are stuck[very possible do to lack of use] it can squeal and operate much harder than designed. You might have to take it apart and loosen it up a bit. This happens to my mower wheels every winter while it's parked. Other than that if the seals inside are leaking by it can cause the cylinder to work much harder.
