Serviced finish mower and lubed FEL on tractor Saturday morning, drove tractor down to pasture to see if it was dry enough to mow, surprised me, I mowed the whole lower section, still too wet in upper (left a 6" deep rut as I backed out). Mowed the lawn yesterday in the wind, need to remember not to do that, as I get covered in dust and clippings on each turn.

About the only good thing the fire left behind was a bumper crop of wildflowers this year, Rick. They blossomed later than usual, but there were more of them and more varieties than ever. Every year I have mixed feelings about mowing them down, and waiting until the grass is longer than it should be for easy cutting is the result. That was especially the case this year. Hope your pastures dry out before you need a combine to get through them!

My wife read that, letting them go to seed, assures even more of them in future years (groan). She may get her wish ...... if pastures don't dry out soon.

Good morning to all! Low of 42, going up to 72. Skies are clear, like yesterday. Within an hour yesterday afternoon, the skies got cloudy, temps dropped about 15 degrees, and a few sprinkles. Storms came out of the N/NE which was strange occurance for here. No real rain though.

Spent most of the day rearranging the garage / shop in order to get the tractor inside. I took the BH off, getting accustomed to the process...definitely different than the little one. Once you find "the sweet spot", it comes off really easy. The challenge may come getting it back on

Kyle, good luck at the doc's today, prayers sent for good news!

RNG, good luck on your search for a suitable machine.

David, hope today is a "break-through" day... In more ways than one!

Hopefully it will continue to dry out a bit more and I'll get a chance to see what the new tractor can do. Today is more familiarization and probably some greasing, noticed a couple of zerks that weren't hit in the dealer prep.

Everyone have a great start to the week! Prayers sent for all!

He has a job, and offers from other companies. He starts with same company I work for at end of the month. No shortage of work for a computer engineer with a clearance.

On the dump truck, i was dumping a load of dirt, had bed half up, and popped clutch to get the load to slide, and it broke. Someone in another dump truck pulled me back to the garage with a chain, probably a 20 mile trip on twisty hilly roads. If you ever been pulled with a chain, you know how jerky that gets. I started driving a 10 ton, single axle dump truck right after high school, summer job for college.

Good that Junior has a job.

Your single axle dumpy truck probably had a 23,000 lb axle in it. They are about as useless as teats on a boar.
I had the same axle in a fuel truck, yup I busted it.
When getting dragged on a chain, the onus is on the one being dragged to keep the chain tight.

Don't forget to tighten up your wheel nuts. Many times until the don't turn anymore. A tork wrench is your next best friend to a grease gun.

Ron, can you not get that white powder that stops bleeding? I don't know the name of it but I think a drug store carries it. We can't get it up here, I don't think.
IMHO, you should have taken the finger to emergency and at least there they could give you a tetanus booster and maybe a stitch or two.

69°F and .01 inches rain.

Wife’s relatives leave this morning, been a great visit.
Dentist this afternoon, small cavity, permanent crown. Then Happy Hour with friends in town.

Anyone use a metal detector? Had originally dismissed due to rebar and wire mess in concrete, but wonder if might be effective coming from side looking for end of pipe?

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I had a tetanus booster shot last summer. I probably should have gone for a stitch or 2. Too late now. Took bandage off and cleaned up all the blood. No bleeding today.
Yes we can get powder to stop bleeding here.

Only if the pipe is about 10 " from coming through. I always got a lot of false alerts, any small pice of rusted metal will set it off, nail, button, staple . . .etc . . .
