Good morning!!!!

Beautiful day. 63° and sunny.

Did some cleaning up outside. Then had to clean battery terminals and jumpstart my MF. Mowed a little where the grass is always the tallest, to warm up the tractor, then changed oil in the MF. This the change i put off last yr, the yr before.... Need a filter and more oil to do the kubota.

Then went to do the subaru, and the oil plug is rounding off, could not get it off. Only use a 6 pt on it, so now will have to get a new plug, and reread the tbn thread on the rounded off drain plug.

I bet that oil plug had a few names cast upon it today, sorry Buckeye.

Two EMT's from New Mexico now, I should be dedicating my Hatch chili peppers growing to them.

Busy day outside, tilling and hoeing, pollen still dropping like mad.

NM has the oldest continuously lived in homes in the US. Over a 1000 years old in Taos.
Lot of history in that area, that whole area of Utah, Colorado, so much to see. And I haven't made it there yet.
Better get moving.

Lou, what a slip sliding backguessing day in the snow. Maybe tell yourself April 15 Global Warming or not...I was told twenty some years ago this area got several feet of snow in early April. Hard to imagine. Pretty sure we are over the hump here, unlikely a freeze, April 11 is the day technically that averages the last freeze here. It's why I've kept the row hoops up for another couple of weeks. Don't even want to think about it, would lose a lot of food.

Just tried the battery impact on the oil plug, no budge. Will try again with engine hot. No choice words, i choose not to. I can only blame myself for putting on too tight.

The new EMT is in Louisiana, not NM.

Forsythia in full bloom now. This row was transplants from the family farm. 0406191807.jpeg

Car show was a major success, a bit over 50 cars, lots of bids on silent auction items, sold baked goods and had a $324 50/50. Lots of donations as well.
Weather was cool and overcast before lunch, and gorgeous and warm after lunch.
A lot of friends both old and new.

Well, the dealership saga is now complete. I got there right at 8am. Service advisor waiting for me. Logged the truck in and off they went. I went and sat up in the showroom. Funny how all the managers almost wouldn't even look my way. The sales guy was highly "upset" over how things transpired. He even said "I can't believe how they are acting because a customer finally called them on how they do business". His manager was at least cordial.

2 hours later, I was on my way. A Nissan class IV hitch installed, new wiring harness, brand new top of the line brake controller w/ factory pigtail. So why didn't they do this the first time? They robbed all the parts from another new truck on the lot.....it just doesn't make any sense. Now they have made 3x the amount of work..... All in all, I got what I paid for.

BEF, maybe try a little heat with a torch briefly around the plug to heat up the pan just a little. Oh, and I think JMK lives in Louisiana, but works as a medic in Lovington, NM. I'm sure he'll be along to confirm. Anyway, hope you get the plug out!

Randy, glad the car show was successful! Sounded like you had a wonderful time.

Kyle , hoping you can get the surgery scheduled without any issues. Prayers sent for a successful surgery and speedy recovery. You made me drool when reading about the eggs / sausage!

Drew, with all the work you do in the garden / community, how could you break away to come see the sights? It truly is beautiful, especially the mountain vistas. Anytime you want to visit, the door is open!
On one of our anniversaries, I surprised the wifey with a motorcycle trip up to Taos. We stayed in a 300 y/o adobe bed and breakfast. Very cool. The next day, we had an all day horseback ride up to the top of Wheeler Peak (the highest in NM). Wifey loved it.... I couldn't walk right for a week... I'm not kidding!

David, did you stop flailing around for today? Need pics of the fun!

Don, after going through the "new car buying process" and then the subsequent issues, I truly wish you luck in your search for the right vehicle. I can confirm that they will delete the costs of the dealer "add-ons". That's just all profit padding.

Everyone have a great evening!

Good for you, Ted, for standing up to those morons.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

It's a really sad comment on the whole new car buying experience that you had to go through all that, though. I say take the rest of the weekend off! Lord knows you've earned it!!!

So I'm walking out to the trash can and notice this on the Kubota side-by-side. It's not like it doesn't get enough use as much as it is a testament to the tenacity of life, and how much it wants to thrive...

It's also a reminder that I should probably load up the sprayer on that Kubota and give the weeds another dose before they leave me hopelessly behind!

Good evening all. 63F for the start, light wind and fog. Rain began 10:10AM, wind got blustery at times and low temp was 57F at about noon. Partial clearing in afternoon and high temp of 67F. Bike ride this morning, was still riding when rain began, almost back home. Rain moderated and we made it home. After lunch and nap went to town for groceries and supper.
Ted, what a revolting development on your new truck, very glad you were able to work it out to your satisfaction
Welcome JMK congrats on new tractor.
Drew, Sorry about your appointment issues it is frustrating, especially when they call to confirm your appointment! Water temps are up to mid 60's, missed a couple of opportunities, to get out earlier.
Buckeye, hope you get the oil plug out.
Randy glad you had a good car show, always fun to go see what people are doing even if the car is not there to compete.
Don good luck on your SUV quest, I am confident you can keep you and your wife happy!:2cents:
David I bet I had more fun with my toy than you did with your new toy :D
prayers for all.

If today was a day you could pick anything in the world you wanted to do what would that be?

Personally I would take the UTV and go to the mountains of WVA to ride the trails

A warm but not too hot sun was still shining in the afternoon yesterday as we walked up the track to the fishing pond. The water was flat calm, perfectly mirroring the yellow flowers of the gorse, brilliant white blackthorn blossom and the fresh green leaves bursting out from every hawthorn in the hedgerow. My wife remarked how much it resembled the spring day we first came here back in 2003 to see this land before it was sold at auction. We then watched mini shoals of this year's newly hatched small fry, each no more than an inch in length, cruise around the edge of the pond, then race to the surface as we threw them a few pieces of bread.

Bups, I'm struggling to think of anything to pick that would have been better. Guess I am just boring - and very lucky.
