Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #182,402
Yesterday afternoon got up into the low 50s. Cool but not bad for working outside. I chopped leaves at the farm. The last two oaks finally dropped. There are still some leaves on the beeches but they will have to take care of themselves because I'm about done with leaves. I hope to give the lawn here at the house a once over today.

I noticed if you get lined up just the right way you can see the green sprouts out across the field. Late start.

Back in September my wife got some cauliflower plants at the garden store. When she got home she discovered they were actually arugula. She planted them anyway. Waste not want not. The things have grown like weeds and are still growing despite the cold. They don't smell good to me but she likes them.

Last week we ran up to Maine. The builder thought the excavator would be digging the basement. When we got there there was 3 inches of snow on the ground. For some reason that put off the digging. The builder was hoping to get the house dried in before it got too cold. Guess he didn't make it.
Mornings that week were in the teens and the afternoons got up to the low 20s. That kept the snow around but it was beautiful. It really was a winter wonderland. We were glad to get home. That would be enough of a taste of winter for me. Could we be that lucky?

Take care.

Chris

27 working its way up to 56.

Saw 61 on the truck thermometer yesterday when coming home from my little Christmas shopping trip. Stopped to do a "recovery" hike on the way home. Was planning a big hike in the mountains today, but realized just not quite back to normal.

LS, that's a lot of snow.

Pop, cute pix of grandson. Great age.

34° now highs in the mid 40’s and mostly sunny today. Rain starts Sunday afternoon through Monday, another 1-2”.

The Mrs says thank you all for the birthday wishes. Went to an Italian restaurant we hadn’t been to in years. Food was excellent.

Drew, the tractor sees way more attention and loving than the snow plow does! I’m pretty AR on maintenance and such!

Slight miscommunication on the replacement hoses, next Friday not yesterday LOL. Not a big deal I like to wander around and look at stuff!

Dump run in a bit and not sure what the rest of the day will bring. (maybe try to find some Christmas spirit)

Enjoy the weekend everyone
Prayers for those in need

Good morning, the low is 32 and the high to a lofty 34°F. Wind NW 3 mph. 60% chance of rain/flurries.

I am glad I got those lights installed yesterday.

Not much on my plate for today.

NHBX, my Christmas spirit is in the liquor store.

Have a safe day all

Well over $1000 walking out the door when I did, probably took about 2 minutes for them to clear the registers. Maybe $500K per day?
Pretty close.

Well, worldwide, last quarter, they sold $642.2 million per day, so with 861 stores, that's over $745.9K per store per day.

If it was all rotisserie chicken, that's would be 150,000 cluckers per day. Now, how many feathers would that be?

Good Morning Guys,
Ct, 35 to start going to 50 or so !
Sunny skies so should be a good one !
Today I’m working on putting a lathe stand together to be able to turn the front legs of the rocking chairs that I want to build! Nothing fancy, just need to be able to get the lathe to working height !

I drink too much coffee on an empty stomach early in the morning and have found one Tums really helps.
Drew, according to my doctor I was eating to many Tums, so now when I need something I use Pepcid, supposedly better ! Too much calcium in the Tums believe!

Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏

It's a balmy 51º going to 79º today. Been working on an electric conversion for a 1980's resistor coil golf cart. Got components mounted and wire diagram nearing complete. Hopes are to get a test today. Need to send out a few Xmas cards this AM if they are to arrive on time.
Went out to a family and friends Christmas dinner last night. Ate too much - lol
Good thing Christmas is only once a year. Will go visit with a friend today whose wife is ill. Something about his gate alarm not working, those driveway alarms are great for rural living. Nice to know when somebody is coming up the drive.
Of course a good dog can do the same...but harder to turn off. 😉

79 degrees, sounds mighty nice Scootr.
now you wouldn't happen to be adding a little power to that golf cart, would you?

I'd like to get shock absorbers for my golf cart.
suspension is pretty crude, has plenty of clearance with 3" lift, but not enough suspension for bumps.
really designed for hard surfaces despite my aggressive tires. Local golf cart place seems to specialize in customizing.
I know they have a high performance mod/faster speed they can add, never had any interest.
I go pretty slow and just want to be comfortable if I go on a path or trail, but fully understand golf cart is not a UTV.
My Kubota RTV would go anywhere, despite slow steering. It had an amazing amount of compliance in suspension.
The golf cart has none.

Frits, your daughter's pics are a treat, thanks for posting.

Are you replacing the solenoids and toasters with a PWM controller, or changing the motor and battery technology as well?

Pennsylvania legislature just passed a resolution honoring 2023 as the Taylor Swift year, or something like that, and
a big floor fight ensued with the Haters against the Swifties.
guess what
Swifties won, but not by much
Ms Swift is a West Reading Pennsylvania girl and I guess those PA Swifties are powerful
I wonder how many Swifties will descend on West Reading to see the house she grew up in.
I'm sure they will be selling tickets there.

Are you replacing the solenoids and toasters with a PWM controller, or changing the motor and battery technology as well?
Yes on eliminating the solenoids and resistors and replacing with PWM control. Batteries remain LA not Lithium, but 6/8v instead of 6/6v. OEM series motor will run on 48v.
F&R device is a reversing contactor with rocker switch control. Of course a bigger motor could be swapped out easily later.

Good Morning
Started at 37° will likely pass 50 under a clear sky.

Yesterday started with grandsons event, then some shop tinkering. I fixed the charger for my portable radios, it had a bad power supply. It’s charging now. Don’t use them every day, but sure are handy when I do use them.

Made an awesome sandwich by putting some pork belly on the grill to crisp it a bit, then some good dill pickles and Dijon.

After lunch I got a call that I could pick up the little plane from the avionics shop, so got my son to give me a ride to get. I’ve had it for 28 years, and just spent 4 times what I paid for it to upgrade the panel, and that was with me providing the instrument panel itself.
How’s that for inflation?

Got home in time to tinker a bit more and play music with the boys.

Today I went out with Zoe after breakfast to toss her ball, it’s amazing how much energy a one year old dog has.

IMG_3389.jpg

Not a lot else planned, I’m going to take the little plane for a ride that will include a lunch in Pittstown, NJ.
I’ll have to load grain into the barn later, but the boss is at a Farmers market, so my time is my own until later in the day.

Good Morning!!!! 55F @ 6:30AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 66F. Winds light and variable.
Rain coming in tomorrow night, finishing up by Wednesday afternoon. Christmas is looking wet, too.

Beautiful wood, Phil. Never heard of that one before.

Picked the van up at the RAM dealer yesterday. They didn't fix anything, but did apply a firmware update and have some parts on order. That'll have to wait until after the New Year. The ride down on the little Yamaha was much warmer than last time. In the future I'll drop the van off the afternoon before to take advantage of the warmer temps.

Enjoyed another camp fire last night, feeding it with old paperwork and data discs. Need another one tonight to finish up.

Today I'll get the tires rotated on the van, and the oil drained. I don't have enough oil to fill it up, but Amazon is supposed to deliver more this afternoon. Fingers crossed they do. There have been delivery delays due to the Christmas Spirit. lately. Probably should give the Yamana some TLC today, too. There's a little too much valve clatter and it just turned 5K miles, so an oil change wouldn't hurt, either.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend...

Drew, according to my doctor I was eating to many Tums, so now when I need something I use Pepcid, supposedly better ! Too much calcium in the Tums believe!
Pepcid AC is definately best! The Walmart "Equate" version is just as good or better at half the cost. HEB also has an in-house version which is equal to the name brand.

Only med I take other than asprin. And only occasionally. It's not the coffee that bothers me but tomato sauces, etc.

I am guessing that most of us here were teenagers in the 70s and 80s.
How many of these one hit wonders do you all like?
Some I had never heard of.
Have heard most of 'em..... for the time, liked most of 'em at one point ......
Wasn't sure that I was going to admit that.....

   / Good morning!!!! #182,417
Good morning! Low of 15°, heading up to 45°, sunny.
Hopefully, the snow will begin to melt. Another storm could make it's way here next Thursday or Friday.....
Maybe a white Christmas??

Fritz, thanks for posting the pics from your daughter's travels. Really neat!

Wng, good that you were able to get in a 'recovery hike'.

Phil, another beautiful turning! Never heard of that wood.

Scott, are you going to start a turning competition with Phil? ---- OK, you guys have 24 hours to turn and finish this project and post your pics.... ready, set, go!
Winner gets bragging rights.......

59°F and .16 inches rain. Believe this is lowest temp here since I’ve been coming on GM. Slight improvement in forecast , an hour of sun at Noon.

I did get a good run to the dump and PO yesterday. Will have to see what today brings.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

   / Good morning!!!! #182,419
nice out now, got the oil changed in the snow blower.
a reward for it starting so nicely.
Surprised when I put charger back on new 7.2V battery it went into charge mode and stayed there.
going out to check on it shortly. Had only run for five minutes on a full charge, but with new battery, maybe it needs
a few charge cycles to get its brain fully on. And maybe I"m going to order a spare...

Morning all, 44 going up to 53, kinda what they said yesterday, but 57 when I came in from the woods and still going up.
Got some more branches and trunks cleaned out of back area. Found another dead standing non-ash tree. Wonder it it was just old or if an ash hit it and damaged it too much.
Took the day off work, so only put in 4 hours there :-(

I am looking for a replacement for the grip shifters on my Trek750. The famous broken plastic clip issue. Maybe go with thumb shifters since they were more plentiful and reliable. Finding SunTour stuff can be difficult.

My enzymes are at about 50% and declining, hope you can get them stabilized M7040.
Do you know what caused your issue? Still trying to find out my cause.

Be well,

Moved about 4 more loads, including some cedar trunks and a few ash tree trunks. Still a lot more to do, and the dead stands of Ash keep me out of certain areas waiting for them to finish falling.
