30 going to 36F. Wind NW 14 mph. periods of light snow. Yesterday I woke up to about 3/4" of snow on ground and it snowed all day. Still snowing now and we have a total of about 2". The powers that be are saying that today we will have 'periods of light snow'.

My S.I.L. put up a 12" wide by 6' long shelf for me yesterday, so now I can mount my sterling silver plaque and have a place for my crystal high ball glasses. They are company gifts for lasting 25 years with them. Next season will be year number 33.

I haven't decided what I am going to do today, but I do know there isn't enough snow to plow and the ground isn't frozen anyway. Probably I will conserve energy today, too.

Have a good day all

Windy here, too. 47 going to 62.

I need one more stove pipe, a slip connector, and TSC's website said they had some. So we went to town, me to gym, wife to grocery store, then together to TSC...they had just one...bent up pretty badly, especially in the critical places, and a "Reduced 25%" sticker on it. No way you could straighten it and use it...it was just trash. Young guy working there said they had 3, between vapes at the register, but could not find them, and no one would call another store.

Found a mouse nest on top of my generator out in the shed yesterday...a real pretty one...chewed or scratched off the white liner from the inside of the vinyl cover...so it looked like snow. Set traps so I can tell the mouse how nice a job she did, and how the holes in the cover have added such a nice improvement. Decided to put traps under the house, too. Looking forward to a "trapline hike" this morning. I just read the "Keeping your hood up to prevent rodent damage" thread and will go put the hoods (bonnets) up on the tractor and zero turn this morning, too.

I read an interesting article yesterday how high fox populations reduce lyme disease in an area...theory is not as much that the foxes catch the rodent vectors, but that the foxes keep rodents underground longer, so they don't spread the disease as much. Said that high coyote populations disrupt this process, since they run off the foxes, and don't frequently rehunt the same smaller area like a fox.

Yesterday was busy day outside cleaning the lawn, picking up limbs/branch blowing leaves until 6pm...pillow felt good 9pm.
Notice yesterday buck decided to shine his antlers on young apple tree..arrrrr.
Last week I am able to work outside after work for an hour or so,next week darkness arrives an hour early...hmmm :(
E muffin feed little critters slow roll to work.

Enjoy the day all.

Lovely Fall weather this week, sunny days, highs in the low 70's, just super nice to be outside.
Happy Birthday Ellen! Gorgeous, 39 and holding, right Toppop?

Snow. I love to read about it...;)

Another neighboring field is always a pleasure to watch being tended. The noise I thought was a propeller plane hovering over my house turned out to be this JD combine sitting in the corner of the field, closest to my home.
Heads sure cut smoothly, that field looked perfect when he was done. Had a spare MacDon head in the field also, must be a story about that.

Eric, nice experiment. Rust always seemed to me to be the termites of the metal kingdom.
