TBN admin. 8:47 pm- Yeah, we had a hardware failure on one of the drives that does some non-important stuff. But it took down the rest. So that seems to be sorted. We're keeping an eye on it for now.

Good evening all. Have been having trouble getting on TBN this afternoon. 59F for the start, calm, clear. Winds picked up a bit later in the afternoon, sky stayed mostly clear, and high temp of 80F. Had to turn on AC. Made it to chapel, made wife's breakfast, then not much for the rest of the day. Needed to practice energy conservation!
Randy tell Ellen happy birthday.
Larro hope cleanup progresses well.
Buckey not much left of that blade:D
Ron know what you mean, these guys wear me out just reading about it.
Roy get better !
Prayers for all.

For some reason i couldnt access TBN this morning. It was 69° then, 70° now and had .74 inches rain.

Didnt do much today. Watched a bit of football. Played cards later.
Quite, peaceful day.

A weather bucket of solid ice confirms a long cold night. -3C/26F

Like BEF, I recently found a piece of rusty metal too, but not with a mower blade. This was one I had intentionally left in the damp for over a year to test the effectiveness of DIY zinc plating. As a test piece, I had only given it a few minutes in the "plating tank" (plastic cup), to get results quicker. It still took longer than I expected (sorry RNG, you built your bike built before I got around to reporting back :) )

The plated half on the right is now starting to rust, it was rust free at the end of summer. I used a relatively safe, weak acid electrolyte, but it does require anode and cathodes to be close. Other more hazardous solutions can "throw" the zinc further. Looking back it was fun to experiment with, but as a process it is probably best saved for more intricate parts where I can't simply just brush on a coat of Zinga.
