Wng, it would certainly make sense to have a filter to catch sediment before it gets in to any other pipework.

Intriguing though as to how the purity of water from the well could be affected by a power outage. Possibly you don't have a non-return valve in the well pipe run, so that once air enters the house pipes, the water rushes back down under gravity and out through the pump to stir up the sediment in the well.

Ron, good to know you use the word "tap" too, which is the only word we use for that thing that lets water out of the pipes in a house. In the US, is there a difference between a tap and a faucet ?

32 and going to a high of 50. Wind E 8 mph. 30% chance of showers.

Well the dump run is done along with picking up 20 bags (40 lbs ea) of black earth for the garden.
We got the fencing on the deck finished except for the gate yesterday. The gate will get done today and the BE unloaded and piled.
The 15' Crestliner fiberglass boat that I have had forever is full of dry rot. This is the same boat that the Carver replaced. After I unload (backhoe and thumb work) the big rocks that are in it, off to the dump it will go, motor and all.

Eric; tap is easier to spell than faucet. That is why I use it.

Have a safe and happy Sunday all

Probably got it from my mother. Her parents came for Upper Michigan and Belgium. My Dads side of the family came from England in the 18th century.
As far as I know they mean the same thing. But you will not find anything on a store shelf called a TAP for water.

Get well Buppies!

Thanks for feedback on filters, taps and faucets. We say faucets...we generally use tap to describe a nice dance or a light knock.

I only say "tap" after watching too many British shows on PBS.

49 right now...high in the low to mid 60's and rain coming through....quite a bit cooler than yesterday.

I'm going to mess around with that genny I wrote about yesterday...see if I can get it started. I reckon the first thing I should try is fresh gasoline.
