-4° right now, snow showers this morning, but no accumulation expected. High, if it makes it, will be mid-upper 30's.
Next couple nights are going to be bitter, -11 to -16...won't be letting Margeaux out in that

Usual webinars today...site manager is off with covid...stepdaughter works today and will be doing some shopping (with my debit card) which saves me a trip

Wifey's continuing to improve, but still using the wheelchair. I'm here mostly just to help when necessary or if there's an accident

Randy, glad the surgery went well.

No coffee this morning. 34° with with mostly cloudy skies and wind. Heading to 25° with clouds and wind. Temperatures are headed down as the day goes along. Sassy got her bath and a good brushing. I made trip to neighbors burn pile. Pushed it closer to big log. Did not scan any pictures. Annual Wellness checkup today. No other plans for the day.
I now have 4 pairs of Cardinals at my feeders. Someone must have passed the word at local park. This is the place to be.

Mostly, I plan on putting another squirrel baffle up on the pole. Should be delivered tomorrow.

LS, easy to spend money. Not so easy to save.

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.

27 going up to 53...last warm day for a while.

Good news, Toppop.

Just watched 3 local weather forecasters...no agreement on these next two snow storms Thursday and Saturday. I guess best plan is to be prepared for about anything.

Split my firewood and stacked it after coming back from town. Need to move a couple of pallets this morning now that the ground is refrozen...ground is pretty wet after over 5" rain/melted snow so far this month.

Kyle smelling any smoke?

A control burn on a dry and windy day, what could go wrong, hold my beer . . .

Question do you think that if a VFD was involved in this control burn they should be liable for any damages?
I know Rick said his VFD stood by on control burns but at a meeting in our VFD I said I would not be involved in any control burns, that is not the purpose of the VFD and we were not insured for any liability so only the fire officers would be liable. Our VFD stopped facilitating control burns. There are actual companies that do control burns but they have insurance and and charge a lot.
Isn't that how last big fire they had in Bastrop got started.

Good morning, low temp 12 and going to a high of 30°F. Wind ESE 14 mph. Flurries.
About 6" landed overnight, so I guess I will start plowing at 9 this morning. Block heater already turned on.

Belated Happy Birthday RS!

Something spooked those whitetails.

After plowing, maybe put the other front chain back on, maybe not. Might conserve energy instead.

Have a safe day all

sodamo said, "....ordered our taxpayer paid covid test kits from USPS with hopes not to use."

We have Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance through the City of Dallas retiree plan, and a while back they sent kits to both my wife and to me. I've not opened any, but apparently they are a type that you send in to get the results. And still later they send more kits that appear to be an "instant?" result type. So we have 4 of each type and haven't opened any of the boxes . . . . yet. I'm hoping we don't have any need for them.:D

National Weather Service says the forecast high for today is 54 degrees, BUT that it was 56 at 5:30 a.m. It's supposed to fall to 45 this afternoon and on down to 25 tonight with some northerly wind.

But I'm glad we don't have the snow that some of you are having. I enjoy the pictures of your snow, but I'm glad it isn't here.

Good Morning
It’s 27 with a high of 42 for today.

Yesterday went pretty well, my breakfast date postponed till Thursday, so I reheated left over pancakes. After that I picked up the new compressor and started installing it. Had to make a run to Lowes for a roll of PEX-A and fittings. Got a power cord and plug installed, and ran it up to pressure. Got tubing fished through the ceiling across the shop, but that’s as far as I got, will finish it today.
Had to address more FAA “findings” on submitted documents.

Today I’m going to finish the compressor plumbing right after breakfast. Then hopefully clean up some the mess I made in the process. I gained a little room by giving a nice old Delta scroll saw and a router table to the friend that helped me move the compressor. Nice saw with a 24” throat, but you can tell by the dust when I last used it.

I still haven’t been able to get the welding done on the beam in another friend’s building due to issues on his end, that might happen today after I finish up here.
Looks like possible snow later this week……

Morning all, 27 and very cloudy, but the wind has calmed a bit

Replaced inverter board on washer and it seems to be working again.
Last time bought the whole motor/inverter and it only lasted a bit over a year.
This time got a used inverter (can't buy only the inverter from part from GE etc.).
Seems it time to look for a new washer. I want a top loader, but wife insists on the more complex front loader :-(

Happy belated birthday RS
Glad all went well Randy
Happy anniversary Buppies-how are you feeling?
Paul - that's a nice (dusty) scroll saw, friend should be happy

Dr. said I can start working myself off one of the medicines ! Life is good.
Planning trip to Italy/Switzerland - need to get my passport updated

Stay safe and be well,

These desert tractors work pretty well.

Good morning! 61˚F mostly cloudy heading to the mid 70 until 5PM when the wind shifts from the North bringing us a 12% chance of snow tomorrow.

Ron, the last big Bastrop fire was caused by a down electrical line. This fire is slowing down and it will be interesting to see what happens when the wind changes direction this afternoon by 180˚ and gust up to 30 MPH.

Bird do the covid test have an expiration date.

Ron that is a brilliant red cardinal.

Bird, I welcome the snow. It adds another layer of insulation to my water pipe coming in from the well. The pipe itself is only buried 48" under the grade, but I added 2" of blue styrofoam insulation to that all the way around.
1" of styrofoam is equal to 1' of ground cover. So in theory The well pipe is buried 6' under.
The snow also gives me seat time.

People are getting mad about the prescribed burn that got away yesterday in Bastrop.

“Our officials chose to burn on a windy day KNOWING the risks. They should be held liable for all the loss! The people of Bastrop need to know how reckless their elected officials are. We lost so much in 2011, how dare they put us in this situation AGAIN!” wrote another resident, Shelby L., to KXAN.

38°F and cloudy this morning, dropping through the day into the teens overnight. Not as cold a Roy, though, so we got that going for us.

   / Good morning!!!! #144,359
23° early and 43° now and headed to low fifties. Rain to snow tomorrow with no prediction on accumulation, about 4” predicted for Friday night into Saturday.

I got my block heater installed Monday, took a few minutes. I might get to try it out Saturday morning. Unfortunately the invisible cab is not heated. I have insulted motorcycle gloves and lots of long Johns, sweatshirts and insulated coats.
I even have a pair of purple earmuffs.
With any luck I won’t need any of it.

Be well guys.

65°F and .14 inches rain.

Need to put new fridge in King Suite this morning. More of a temporary, but useable location for now.

Back into the caretaker, chipping away at smaller but time consuming tasks with the goal of being habitable by Feb.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
