Outside chores done before dawn quick E muffin than off to town for couple stops before traffic got heavy.

No real plans for today other maybe clean paths deck and date night...just might sneak in nap.

Enjoy your day all.

Morning all, 28 and snow has finished, about 3-4" so dog is happy! Sun is out
Schools closed today, you would think we were in the south with all the panic

One of my wood racks fell, was able to move most of it to dry areas before snow started.
Need to work day job and then go plow.

Stay safe and be well,

6°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 23° today. 39° tomorrow, but expecting rain.

Stopped at three different places on the way home from work to get a particular Sudafed variety for The Wife. All three were out. Cold and flu season.

Wife and I spent the rest of the evening getting new online accounts set up with the new financial advisor. Not the most fun I've ever had, but necessary.

Nice pictures, fellas.

Good morning! It was down to 23˚F this morning, now 28˚F and heading to the 50s wind is changing directions and coming from the South.

I was able to walk a mile up and down the street yesterday, no cane, working on heel toe heel toe and not limping. I am dreading the session with Egore this afternoon. I enjoy the warm up exercises I will just concentrate on them.

I went to the gym yesterday to see what machines I could use. I was surprised I could use the elliptical and one back and forth pedal machine. Like I thought I could not use the stationary bikes because I can't complete the up-cycle on the pedal as it makes the knee bend more than the scar tissue will allow. Knee was red last night from all the activity but is less angry this morning.

Wife maid peanut butter yesterday in the Nutramilk machine with a jar of on sale $2 peanuts from Walgreens. The peanuts were dry roasted with no other ingredients. The peanut butter turned out very well and she said it tased better than Laura's peanut butter and at 1/2 the price.
At night I made soy milk in the machine and will taste it shortly with oatmeal. Soy milk is the most difficult to make because it requires extra steps - cooking the milk and removing the foam. I'll have to research an Instant Pot intervention along the steps.

Nice snow pics but that snow would paralyze this area and just a mention of snow and ice would make the grocery shelves bare.

Where I now find out it sat unloved under open sheds for the last 7 years, wouldn't start and was finally sold for 800 dollars.
The tractor was perfect when I left it, with a new Landpride mower. I was away and no one thought to call me.
If running we could easily have gotten five or six thousand for a clean used tractor. An expensive lesson for me, sure know now I can't trust the caretaker
to take care of nice machinery. Nice looking tractor too....

.

Wow, I’d almost consider that theft. Definitely derelict of duty. And the caretaker is still employed?

BEF, 10 miles a night is great! They found that young woman on the AT who went missing on Christmas Eve...alive and okay.

That’s great!! I hadn’t heard someone was missing.

Good afternoon. This has been a day of surprise early deliveries. Postman brought my replacement driving license when I was quite looking forward to being chauffeured around by my wife for at least another week.

The other early surprise was delivered by this ewe

27° which will be about our high.

Up at the crack of 10, since I was up almost all night.

Just over 6” of snow, not bad for a 1-2” winter advisory. Sunny. Looks like cold will stay for a week so should push the snow. Need to get more pellets in also.

Didn’t plan on snow removal on my day off. Problem with pushing with FEL is lots of gravel goes in yard. 6” is about my minimum threshold for pushing it off.

31 going to 43. 2 to 4 inches more snow forecast tonight.

Hooray! We are back among the civilized...power was restored at 3AM...we got up and celebrated...by turning on the water at the sink and watching in amazement as water came out and we could wash our hands instead of using those stinky sanitizing wipes. I've got a shower and a shave in my plans today.🚿🚰

More prayers for your mom, Kyle.

Buppies and LS, safe travels.
Glad your power is back on! a shower makes me feel half human again.

It was 29F this morning here. maybe up to high 40's later.

Thanks for all the prayers! My mom's catherization went well, they said the blockage was at 90%, and they put a stent in.

Now I'm having trouble with getting the next phase of skilled nursing rehab care authorized. Her doctor is frustrated about it. So far I've been transferred by 2 people to other people and still waiting on hold. They said wait time is 32 minutes, due to Covid problems.

Has anyone had to appeal an insurance medical denial? I believe she needs 24/7 care for maybe 2 weeks or so.

My mom's situation:
92 yo
lives alone
family over 100 miles away
home not ADA compliant
can't go to restroom or take bath by herself yet
still on O2
has blood in urine

RNG, can we gripe about taxes?

Prayers for our team and our country.

Kyle- see if their is a concierge, ombudsman etc. at the hospital to help.
They used to inform people of services to help advocate for patients.
I hope they get on the ball.
The stent should help a lot.

Snow clearing done, Did manage to take more gravel then I wanted. Vehicles cleaned up, sun will take care of things good even at 26°.

Forecast changed , Sunday now says 41° and rain. That’s different than what I saw a few hrs ago.

pellets stocked up, 14 bags in the storage box and 3 more on top.

Put battery tender on ZTR, kill-watt meter says it’s drawing .18A charging. Think the extension cord will be ok.

29F windy and mostly sunny. we had 3 1/2 inches of powdery snow last night. Very pretty out.
I was going to run the mower up to the barn Thursday but I decided to go over the lawn one more time. I wasn't cutting much grass but I got up quite a lot of leaf litter up.
I"m hoping that the snow will mat down my neighbors leaves so they stay in their yards.
I hauled the mower up Friday morning and brought the Ariens back just in time.

RNG, can we gripe about taxes?

Complaining is a Constitutional Right. I have told my wife if the complaining stops check my pulse.
That being said, you are pretty much guaranteed to get a bunch of folks fired up if you bring up taxes.

By the way if you want to see someone get fired up ask your doctor about health insurance.

Remember that Tom T hall song "It's younger women, faster cars and black coffee" hehehe

Drew, that’s a shame about your tractor, wasted resource, but just maybe it’s in a well appreciated situation now.

Ron, we have a pair of cardinals that show regularly.

Wngsprd, nice pics 🤙

Mike, sadly it often becomes the older property owner against the taxing entity. They raise the taxes to unaffordable forcing sale to developer knowing that will generate even more tax revenue.

Paul, will you be getting a Shingrix shot?

All these snow pics sure are pretty. Glad I don’t have to shovel

Don, sounds like excellent progress 🤙 but “wife maid” aslip I’m sure

Eric, is this the beginning of a new season?

Dennis, any way to add a shoe to avoid the gravel?

Kyle sounds like at least some good news for your Mom.
As for insurance appeal yes. Sophie was initial denied pool therapy. They termed it “experimental”. A very terse, 3 paragraph letter got it kicked into 2 levels of appeal and quick approval.

Well, tried something new to try and keep up

66°F and no rain.

Got the kitchen sink mounted. No plumbing installed as I haven’t acquired yet. This was a used sink from a neighbor. Very impressed how well it cleaned up. As good as new. Also converted over the range microwave hood from recirculating to wall exhaust.

Think I have a problem with my greenhouse. Only my radishes have germinated. I don’t think I get enough direct sunlight to generate enough warmth. May have to investigate solar powered heat lamps over the gutter garden.

Sophie has ophthalmologist follow up this afternoon. Hoping for a good report.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

20F and partly cloudy @ 14:30, heading up to a whopping 23F for the high. Sun trying to peek out occasionally. Nothing as far as snow here other than a light dusting ... can still see the grass. Don't think we're going to get much snow here this year.

Hopper feeder now empty, so will need to refill that ... probably same deal with the tube feeders as well. Plus whole corn for the deer:

Repair shop was sent the incorrect coil springs which they didn't discover until after they had things taken apart so that didn't get completed on Wednesday. Correct ones are in now, and he was installing them. Should be ready by 17:00.

Discovered that battery in the Sprinter won't hold a charge after I charged it the other day and we went out and did some running around. Shut it off once we got home and it would not start the next morning. So may make a run later down to AutoZone while we are out and pick up a replacement.

Got one more episode of The Expanse in last night, we're now up to Season 4 ... ;)

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable, productive, and safe Friday ... (y)
