Fed the wife Red Lobster, hit the book store and home for nap. Most of the leaves are down now so will push to get them up :).

Reasonably productive day.
Last section of poly panel installed on greenhouse roof. All legs now installed and anchored to concrete. Structure not going anywhere, not that I was concerned having survived this past week.
Picked up 10 lengths of EMT for horizontal bracing for the wall poly. Tomorrow.

good morning all. 35 going up to 49 today in sun and clouds.
Nothing planned, how wonderful. Will work the phones until it warms up, need to call Home Depot customer
service back; lady did not return my call yesterday. Shed bought from store. They told me to call HD customer service.
those folks said sure, hold on a moment, will get you to right person. Next think I knew, phone was ringing at local store.
Round and round in a loop...might have to escalate to store mgr today, as nicely as I can.

Buppies, hope you are feeling better today. Toppop, hope leg feels better.

going to make an apple run today, stock up and then will call an Amish shed builder who lives outside of Princeton NJ, not too far away,
about specs on a stick built shed. And a bigger one this time that will hold the mower with the bagger attached. Which means all that work I did
on the foundation may be a waste, though pretty sure I can just add to it for larger shed.

need to go haul the trash cans out before truck arrives. Have my tip envelope ready, will tape to back side of can so can't be seen from road.
If I were an enterprising thief, this Friday and next Friday would make for some fine porch/can pirating. Lot of envelopes left out....

Poured first cup of coffee. 29° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 44° with some sun. Got Sassy groomed. Shopping was done while she was there. Not much else done rest of the day. Back to shop today to work on meters. Hope to get the finished today. Need to rest up for tomorrow. Temperatures are supposed to be in the mid 50's for a few hours.
Headlines in Local paper yesterday. Garbage contact has been settled with GFL for the next 7 years. Line item on tax bill will go from $154 to $161 per year. They will take anything put out front. Sounds like a good deal to me. Now if they would stop destroying my trash can.
Hairdo/feathers look like my hair after taking my knit stocking cap off.

Drew, no tip envelope for my trash pickup guys this year. Mail lady, yes. Some of the Amazon drivers are fantastic but it is never the same driver. Same with UPS and Fedex. Dog groomer got a good one yesterday. Place grooms some of the cutest dogs.

Buppies, hope you are feeling better.

Randy, keep getting better.

Don, good you got a new date to fix your knee.

David, greenhouse is looking good.

Thomas, skidder project is giving you days off. Enjoy them, Are you doing PT job still?

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

39 outside this AM. Heading to mid 50's. Should be a great day to be outside.

Got roped into moving hay yesterday. Ugh. 100 bales put up by hand. SO wants another 250 in the loft, so I need to move the grain/hay elevator up front to the barn. Rescued it from Mother Nature a few weeks back, still works, lubed up with corn oil, but has two seriously flat tires. Figure I can drag it to where it needs to be.

Sigh....

Hope all have a great day today. TGIF. Have fun this weekend and be safe.

Good morning, low temp 21 and high 34°F. Wind ESE 13 mph. 40% chance of flurries.
There was another 3" came last night, so you all know what I am doing this morning. That makes 10" in the past three days. I will go out at 9 and plow this place, that'll take me until 10 and I'll still make my appointment for the block heater on the Dodge at 11. after I get back from that I may plow thee other two places that I do.

This afternoon at 3:30 the dog has an appointment at the vet.. She has something in her eye that is making it run. I hope it is only dust/dirt and it can be flushed out.

Have a safe day all

100 bales put up by hand.

Rip, little sore this morning? Elevator sounds like a good idea.

Bill, have fun in the snow.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...snow on Christmas Eve is simply the best.
Not for driving though but with awd I'm not concerned. I know which roads have the steepest hills.
Used to drive fire trucks on these hills in heavy snow. I think one of the older trucks had a setup like the school busses used to have, which
released sand in front of the rear tires. If more than six inches of snow was forecast, on went the chains. Now that was a lot of work for a whole bunch of
trucks but you had to be prepared. Some of these homes were up steep hills with narrow private driveways and the excuse we couldn't get there was never going
to cut it. I can remember following the local township snow plow on one fire, I bet that guy never drove his plow truck that fast before...

Mailboxes take such a beating during the winter. The mail guy wants them up close to the road, the plow guy hates them.
(now that's something David and Sophie sure don't have to worry about any more. And displaced Mainiacs too.)

daugen, I never took out a mail box UNLESS you put your driveway snow on my road that was already running water. I would take them off even with the ground so you would have to replace the post, too.

daugen said, "It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...snow on Christmas Eve is simply the best."

That's true in lots of places, but not here. 65 degrees this morning, going for a high of 84.

About how much snow do you get each?

well Bill, then from those unlucky souls you might get this handy tote for Christmas:

mailboxes were one thing, big stones lurking under the snow was another. Which reminds me today is the day I put out my lane markers. Though forecast is for a lot of warmer weather ahead.
I have confused forsythia showing some yellow blooms and a number of bulbs are popping up. While Bill is headed for the deep freezer.
Just a matter of time before that cold comes down here to stay.

And we hope it doesn't reach Bird. Or Don's beautiful vegetables.

Roy, were you stationed at Oceana or Naval Station Norfolk or Little Creek, or elsewhere?
Oceana first with VF-31 (F-4 Phantom II outfit) 1970-74
After 2 years shore duty in Naples, Italy, went on the USS Inchon homeported at Naval Station Norfolk 1977-79

We have great recycling and trash handling at our transfer stations...individual bins for cardboard, paper, can/bottles/plastic, used oil, paint, anti-freeze, batteries, old propane tanks, metal, etc. On my many visits, I've observed most people using one or more of the recycling bins when they bring their trash.

Where I used to live, they made the largest city park out of the landfill...it is the highest point in the city, used for sledding in the winter, fireworks on Independence Day, and has a huge playground, skateboard park and lakes for the rest of the year...Mt. Trashmore...

On certain summer days Mt Trashmore still reminds you of its origin. I watched people snow skiing on several years ago.

............

Backs a little sore, that fingernail I crushed a while back, is still attached and most uncomfortable. Even with gloves, it reminds me that it is still there.

I guess I need to look for xMas decorations to hang up today too.

Positive thoughts on the grain/hay elevator working or next week I will be putting up 250 bales in the hay loft by hand. Guy I got the hundred from had no helpers, so I helped stack them on the trailer and truck, then got them put up in the barn. So I guess I moved 200. LOL.

Help is hard to find nowadays. Even harder to hold on to once you find good help. My wife is finding this out and well, I just keep my mouth shut. It's going to get worse as we get older. The physical labor around here is not conducive to old age.

Prayers for those ailing.
