"..... CBD oils just starting to be heard of around here. Commercial hemp was only legalized a few years ago and has really taken off. Lots of interesting claims about CBD oil and autism. Just not much research material yet. Figure that will change in the coming years."- Farmer2009

Scientific research and opinions about marijuana in this country are so politicized that nothing will happen until all/most politicians realize that "Reefer Madness" from the 1930's/1940's(?) was a kneejerk discrimintory reaction without any real factual base of knowledge. But when do any pols seek truth when all they want one's money and votes...... and this applies to all parties. I agree that more real, non biased, non politicized research is really needed. It's not harmless. And for some individuals it could be a pathway/gateway drug to chemicals far worse and this includes alcohol for those so inclined for reasons beyond their control.

Actually 'Reefer Madness" is pretty comical. It probably did far more harm than good since the 1960's/1970's when it comes to "educating th public" about the dangers of marijuana consumption.

The different states' inconsistent marijuana policies create far too many problems as preiously posted. Non-adults should not have access.

Good evening all. 24F this morning, overcast, moderate wind, and some misting. Afternoon cleared off to mostly sunny, winds stayed moderate, and high of 38F. Made it to Chapel, made breakfast for wife, fired up WBS, may have problem with furnace, it went into defrost mode twice this morning with no visible ice on outside coils. Nothing else going on too cold in garage to work on bike or sharpening chains :).

Northern Ca is on the list to see on the way up to the NW. Was initially going to go through late April/early May, but I think we're going to cancel the trip so I can start on a building project before the weather gets hot. Too many things to do...

April is my favorite month in NorCal. Everything's green, wildflowers all over the place, lots of clouds for great sunrise/sets, mild temps, and the threat of rain to keep things interesting. I know all about too many things to do. The older I get, the more I wanna do, and the less time I have to do it. Once it gets into late June, it's time to think about midday siestas and staying inside with the A/C. But there can still be cool spells, so you never know from day to day...

Warm night here, still 64 degrees out, in February. House temp is 72 and for sure the heat hasn't turned on. When I wake up and the bedroom is that warm (normally a few degrees cooler not by intent but poor insulation at very end of house...) I knew it had been warm out for awhile.

I'm having a little problem with my peas. They are magic beans. Growing several inches per day they are going to grow out of my sunroom...;)
I swear I turn around and they are an inch taller. In between the rain this weekend going to plant them in my little garden. I can throw a sheet over them if a hard freeze comes in. Which I know it will....we get suckered by all this heat and plant things and then bemoan the freeze.
I hear that a lot here...well, I had to replant my x, y z. Am trying to manage that by staggered planting.

Am getting a little white mold on top of some of the trays, not sure if I'm overwatering but plants are healthy as can be. The sunroom is starting to get that "greenhouse" smell. Did all the tomatoes yesterday afternoon. Over 100 tomato plants in 7 varieties, most super dark tomatoes with all the antioxidants, the Krims and similar. I intend to stuff my freezer with tomatoes for home made sauce.

If all this stuff grows going to get very interesting. Would not do this without pledge from head of local food bank that they would send volunteers to help me pick when tons of stuff come rolling in. Ha, hows's that for positive thinking. One step at a time.
Decided to make top fenced veggie garden easy to manage, will put landscape cloth down between rows with staples, and then straw around plants. No salt hay available here, need to find straw. Read enough times here NOT to use regular hay or I'll get weeds forever.

Thankfully my big fireman helper says he can come tomorrow and hopefully we will get the fencing done. It's a hard job, for sure by me doing it alone. The last time I did a big garden I did it with 4x4's ten feet high sunk into the ground two feet. This time I'm using TSC stakes. Pounding in ten foot high poles is not good for me but my helper is big and easy for him. Plastic fencing to be held on by plastic ties.
Long two row section will be fenced electrically, and in between the raindrops that's my next project too. I have 50 step on insulated stakes, this shouldn't be hard in soft sandy ground. Think I need 50 more. Was going to go ten feet between poles but think six feet would be better to control droop of the bottom wire. Don't want it touching anything but unfriendly little noses.

Let's make it a great Monday.

Don, glad that event went so well. You really do a lot for your community.

RNG, those valve cover scratches, from laying a bike down? Are you putting on the bars or are they not cool?

David/Sodamo, really hope everything was working when you got home, the generator worked, etc. Have you slept well yet?
Hope you are feeling better. Feeling poorly and flying great distances, not fun.
