Good Morning!!!! 46F @ 8:00AM. Sunny. High 63F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
At least the clock sez 8:00 AM. Sure doesn't feel like it.

Great pictures, Billy. Glad you're feeling up to such a hike, too.

Positive ground. Almost forgot about that on the Nortons, Eric. Another Prince of Darkness invention?

Sorry about all the funerals, Paul. But that's the reward for getting older, huh?

Squirrely squirrel, Bird.

For the past couple days I've caught a flicker hammering away at a window frame on the outside of the house. Vinyl frame on a stucco wall, what could it be after? I dunno, but I know what it's gonna get if it doesn't stop.

I think I found the cause of the water pressure problems yesterday. There was good pressure at the pump, but not thirty feet away at the house. Tracing the line inside the pump house, I found a large filter I'd forgotten about. The kind that the bottom screws off to reveal a fiber filter. When I checked, it was coated with mud. Guess I wasn't as careful as I should have been laying the pipe up to the new water tank. Sure beats shelling out four hundred bux for a new pressure tank.

All the rain and sunshine have weeds popping up all over the place. Need to get out there pretty soon and start spraying, as the pre-emergent doesn't seem to be working after almost a year.

A buddy of mine is riding down from Oregon today, taking advantage of the good weather. We're headed south for another Airheads campout at the Salton Sea next weekend. In the mean time I'm gonna put him to work running some wire up in the attic. 😄 And showing him a few tricks with the BBQ.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

Good morning to all! Low of 36, going up to 70. No precip forecasted in the 7 day..... last rain here was Sept. 26th. We are back into "exceptional drought".
Only 5.18" YTD, down -2.68" from normal average. The extended forecast doesn't give much hope either.....

I have been doing little annoying projects that have been on the "procrastinating list".... slow but sure getting them knocked off. The knee has been annoying, aggravating, and demoralizing to say the least.... do a little, rest, do a bit more, give up..... rinse and repeat....

Today will consist of transplanting a few trees that were rooted in small pots, putting them into 5 gal containers to over-winter. At least I'll be able to sit while doing them. Then maybe do some shop organizing/ cleanup.

Our old neighbor/friend who moved earlier this summer, is coming for a visit tomorrow. That will be nice to catch up on all the ongoings.

Everyone have a great day!

67°F and .04 inches rain. Raining.

We don’t do the clock change but still affected by mainland, like all football games are an hour later. Not sure what I might watch today.

Likely spend time working other side of caretaker kitchen.

Got upper cabinets hung

RNG, the positive ground thing wasn't only with the Brits. My Packard was positive ground, too. That was as late as 1955

Spent the afternoon spraying 2 paddocks that are getting over-run with purple top. It stops the grass growing. I had finished for about 2 hours and it started raining. Hope it had time to penetrate. It has rained non-stop all darn night. They were supposed to start building my shed today. Ever felt fate works against you?

Wngsprd, found it upstream or is that down stream at the next pool which I hope is deeper than the one in the foreground.
Eric, my 1947 Farmall "A" also had positive ground.
David, can't see the upper cabinets.

Sunny and 72˚F, almost too pretty to play cards.

The better looking half.
Wngsprd, we still don't know.

Kale chips are in the dehydrator. I'm finalizing the recipe including all my modifications and then will make another 3 batches to put in 60 baggies for samples at the next WFPB (Whole Food Plant Based) meeting.

home sweet home
thought I was going to battle high winds but the storm was further out to sea apparently, though the six foot waves on the Chesapeake
were pretty amazing to see.
Was doing great until coming up the Blue Route near Philadelphia, and instead of continuing on to turnpike, got confused by all the 76 numbers in local roads
and wound up heading South on Schulkill Expressway aka Surekill Expressway going the wrong way. And no exit for six miles in bumper to bumper traffic.
And....I needed a bathroom badly. So that added an extra half hour on to the trip I didn't need but alls well that ends well.
55 and sunny here, time for a nap.

garden is wrecked from the frost, need to go hack down the tomato and pepper plants tomorrow.
But I bet I'll find some more radishes out there.

All caught up blowing etc. leaf detail :) only 3 oak trees need to shed leaves, while blowing leaves on side field into woods I disturb nice 8 point buck napping...he wasn't happy, think he was keeping eye on rope scrape for Doe.

Things to do list down to 2,blow leaves and remove steel plate in front of shed door before snow arrives. :)

Mrs. plans on BBQing so I can't be late for dinner, watch some football and nascar and feet up and early to bed tomorrow 5am start time on PT. job.

Wngsprd, looks like a great hike!
Almost 10 miles according to AllTrails unless I got the wrong one.

Got antifreeze in camper traps, set matt in sun to dry.
Got garden fence down, tomato cages out. Trash out for tomorrow pickup.
Still can’t find 2nd set of camper keys. Thought I hung them up after we got back, but wife said she never saw them when she had to go into camper, so she used my set.

Gotta leave early for church meeting tonight.

51F and clear @ 17:30, headed down to an overnight low of 36F.

Got the last two day lilies planted. Tomorrow will probably dig up the day lilies that I got from Menards awhile back - the ones that I temporarily stuck in the ground in the planting bed at the southeast corner of the house - and divide them and then stick them with the ones I just planted today, to fill out that bed. Dug the holes for those before I finished this evening.

Also planted two Alchemilla mollis (Lady's Mantle), two Artemisia schmidtiana "Nana" (Silvermound), and two Delosperma "Fire Spinner".

Still have to divide the Black-eyed Susan and plant those divisions, along with the three hemlock plants.

Frank got dropped off at the pet store to the lady that does the rescues.

Finished up the day by blowing more leaves over on the west side.

Now time to close up the garage and see what I can rustle up for grub ... :p

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)
