Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 6:00AM. Mostly sunny. High 79F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph.
The cooling trend is gaining strength, rain still in the forecast for tonight, but not much.

What do those numbers mean as far as efficacy, Don? Is there some limit below which breakthrough cases are more likely? In other news, the county here announced yesterday that there are currently no ICU beds available in local hospitals, and that's never happened before.

That's a LOT to keep track of, Paul!

Looks like I'll have to wait another month for number three, Ron, but at least now I'm old enough. One of the few advantages to aging...

Sand showed up yesterday morning, but 45 minutes late. At least he dumped it in the right spot. There was enough to finish the trench, and I'll find room for the last of it today. All of the trench going up the hill is done, and maybe a quarter of it across the hill to the tank, too. Not enough room to dump the bucket on the FEL for the rest of it, so I'll be loading dirt into the dump bed on the side-by-side. Except the bed is narrower than the FEL bucket, so a lot of it ends up on the ground. Still think I can finish today, and I'll move the grizzly up the hill to maybe save some driving time.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend!

RNG, if you can find the answers to those questions you are a lot better at searching than I am. I am wondering why that information is not available. I would hate to think there is some agenda behind it.

83F and sunny @ 12:30, headed up to a high of 85F.

Ordered another 330 flower bulbs last night which takes the total up to just over 900, also 4 different kinds of day lilies. October promises to be a busy month for bulb planting ... ;)

Wind forecast looks more favorable for spraying tomorrow, so that's when it will be.

Temps and precipitation forecast this coming week look favorable for the over-seeding project.

Got to get back out there and get to it.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Saturday ... (y)

Our hospital numbers are still half of what they were in the last surge.

Cat threw up all over couch and floor, so got the carpet cleaner out and running it again. The other cat from the one the other day.

oh my aching feet and back. Stood on pavement from 7:30 on this morning, worked two booths then called it quits at noon.
Huge turnout, nice warm day, at least half the folks little kids, which makes sense as school is K-8 and a lot of the school kids came.
Head of School was there, met some old friends.
I worked the greeting booth and for a while we took donations and that didn't work well.
Then someone found the 2 dollar suggested donation sign, but more effectively we enlisted three small motivated kids that stood like
a gauntlet with donation cans. They were so cute, no one would want to pass them by.
Kids everywhere.
Feeling kinda old and tired at the moment...:cautious:

headed out to pick more tomatoes

67°F and .66 inches rain, still raining.

Nothing special planned, just continuation.

Plans for afternoon changed abruptly. Was to meet with BIL for dinner to celebrate his birthday. Postponed. He drives a school bus. An unvaccinated staffed tested positive for covid. Due to exposure the whole school is closed at least 2 weeks. What a waste! A whole community suffers for the irresponsibility of one selfish choice.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I bet that has happened a bunch David, all over the country and school districts have pretty strict rules.
We have to be extra protective of our children of course, but it's remarkable to me how many folks are willing to risk the
health of their kids, including long term neurological damage, because they got infected and didn't have the vaccine antibodies
to fight it off. So Dad or Mom brings it home, unknowingly of course.
How can anyone say today
I don't know, I didn't know
what planet do you live on?

I was around close to three hundred people today including half of them kids.
I was KN95 masked almost all that time and geez did I sweat wearing that even outside.
I sure am I glad I'm triple vaccinated...
And I took off those clothes and washed my hands and face.
I felt buggy.

All chores completed and I started mowing...got the front and one side done, but as I was mowing the side, the drizzle started. So, knocked off mowing and had some lunch.
Wifey and Margeaux are taking a mid-afternoon nap, and that sounds like a pretty good idea...that's where I'm heading when I finish this post...

When I took my KIA in for service I noticed new owners. Oregon based Lithia acquired the Texas Southwest Kia dealerships in Austin, Dallas and Houston. Apparently they are in the business of snatching up dealerships and by the end of 2025 they are expect to be the nation’s largest auto retailer.

Around here watching the daily hospital admittance it seems that over 1/3 and some days closer to half of the admissions are vaccinated people.
I keep kind of a close eye on this as my wife is still working at a local hospital.
As far as the number of confirmed cases I have not seen many statistics on that, and it seems to vary considerably depending on who you listen too.
We just got back from grocery shopping in one of the "higher" percentage areas and other then employees only a few people were wearing masks.

76F humid 2 rain showers second one was good soaker.

Going to town this morning gas station $2.99 gallon heading home 1 1/2 hour later $3.06 gallon.
Woke up back pack blower from it's hibernation, 1 1/2 hour walk notice engine was lagging often think I better do some home work on new blower...11 years old no complaints.

Looks like slow roll country dirt road ride after dinner enjoying smooth cigar, pretty sure setting the deck waiting for critters and stars with cold spirit just maybe another smooth cigar. ;)

Enjoy your evening all.

Had to remove all the exterior cladding from the north east side of the house to re-plumb it. Luckily my grand-daughters partner is a plumber so he is doing the job for nix and only costing materials which still came to about $1100. Mostly using 3/4" copper instead of 1/2". We also fitted a new pressure pump. Water pressure just about cut me in half when I had a shower afterwards. o_O
All new taps in laundry, kitchen and new tub/cabinet in laundry as well. He had to cut a lot of holes in the steel frame to run the new pipes.
Now we can re-clad the house without worrying about pipes bursting.

Interesting fittings, Doug. Solderless? Compression?

   / Good morning!!!! #138,577
Looks like ProPress fittings. O ring and crimped with a ProPress tool. Much more expensive than sweating fittings, but works great for “wet” pipes.

Good day in the caretaker studio. Major accomplishment - Electricity. All the inside receptacles tested out except a GFCI in bathroom. Could be a suspect receptacle. Not a new one, but in my inventory and different style. Likely just replace it.

69F and clear @ 21:30, high hit 87F today, heading down to a low of 58F.

Finished screening those 45 buckets of compost.

Wound up with about 15 - 20 buckets of material that needed re-screened a second time, got that done as well.

Have maybe 4 buckets that could be run through a 3rd time, might do that tomorrow.

Probably still have half of that compost pile yet to go, likely will not get to it until next year.

Screened material pile is replenished and is the largest that it has been this year.

Also have two more piles of compost down near the house, one large and one small. Might yet get to those this season ... to get them out of the way, if nothing else ...

24-Hour Average Soil Temperature is 73.3F, back up a couple more degrees ... expect a big drop this coming week.

Just four more days of Summer left in 2021.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)
