Coffee taste very good this morning. 47° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 76° with partly cloudy skies. Grocery shopping went well yesterday. Did local Farmers market. There was one vendor selling Pasties….

They have strippers at the Farmers market?

There may have been some on the way. But we got there early. Not all booths were setup. 🥴

It was 47 this morning at home. 76 this afternoon. Another clear day.

Wore my 3 season jacket for the ride in to work. Kept me comfy. First time I have worn that jacket since spring.

Got to mow this weekend, may start that tonight. Not sure what else we will get into. Have tickets for an AC/DC tribute band tomorrow night at a local place. Was surprised when the wife said she wanted to go….

Everyone stay safe out there

I thought I was clear, there is no difference except semantics, but the so called, booster shot will likely be more widely available, while the third shot is only for those with certain conditions. I fit some of those conditions and was accepted by the state health department to receive the third shot upon my doctor’s recommendation. I didn’t skirt any rules as I’m sure Bird didn’t either. I also didn’t invent the two terms used to describe essentially the same thing. The health dept. specifically said that these are not boosters as they have not been approved, but third shots for the immunosuppressed have. She had the guidance papers right there and had me read and agree to the terms. This is the Health Department, not some private practice.
I absolutely don’t feel threatened by what you posted, and I’m not expecting the FBI to show up to haul me off for receiving the shot. What is your dog in this hunt anyway?
You said it better than I could. Incidentally, not that it matters, but my wife and I actually got our shots in a hospital where we got our first shots, and we have txdon to thank for telling us about the place just before the end of last year.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Good morning.
It’s 55 and going to 72, another perfect sunny, low humidity day to help dry out the waterlogged ground.
Wednesday’s rain over flowed the old fashioned rain gauge at 5 inches, so I’m going with the Davis for a 7-5/8” total.

After going out and about, I can say that we weathered the storm quite well, I all of the swales and grading did their job, the pond overflowed, but even that was spread out over a large area, and made its way to a swale that ran into the creek, causing no erosion.
A lot of road closures do to downed trees and flooding, but no local road damage after the water receded and the trees cleared.

Yesterday I puttered in the shop most of the day, pulling things out and sweeping under them, making hangers for hoses and cables trying to make a nice functional welding area.

Today is another day without a real plan, but I want to finish cleaning off the welding table, and then who knows what I’ll get into.

now in defense of okra...
it's very low calorie, high in fiber and really good for you.
It was my most favorite veggie to grow in NC, greens, reds, oranges, beautiful plants, easy to harvest and
amazingly durable. But I never found it cooked in anything other than pig fat. I tried barbecuing it and that didn't end well, fell apart,
so I just never got interested in that veggie. I'm sure there's a way, likely by covering it with something that hides the texture.
But I definitely would grow the red and orange varieties just to give away as they qualify for garden space by just how pretty they are.
Otherwise I'd rather eat green beans...

tonight will be tomatoes and mozzarella. I get the low fat mozzarella, dice up my own basil, and never get tired of it.

fighting with computers today, primarily Microsoft. Bought renewal of Office, it loaded and not only doesn't work, but locked out all my old Office files.
I go to reload the software, it welcomes me as paid owner and error messages every time it loads, loading failure.
I also have to add a second email address, my school board gmail address to my current hotmail mail browser and not sure it will cooperate with that.
My original Google account was messed up and never got fixed. So my past has come back to haunt me.
I need a teenager in here to fix this...

thankfully my laptop still works but that sure isn't what I want to work on.

Microsoft pushes their 365 yearly renewal version, but still sells a regular version for about the same price. I bought one last yr for $85 on a prime deal. Bought one last month for church for $120. No yearly renewal. I buy the student and home version and they give you the install code. The last one was weird, the code was in your Amazon account under games, the one last yr was shipped to me. You also need a Microsoft account, as it keeps track of what you have. The software was already on my new pc, or you download from MS. I’m not sure they sell it on media anymore.

Or just snot. LOL
A good resemblance but the mucilage is magical. Okra is a superfood, a fruit that has protein, fiber, antioxidants, magnesium, folate, and vitamin C, K1, and A. and has many health benefits. (when cooked without oils/fats).

"Okra contains a thick gel-like substance called mucilage, which can bind to cholesterol during digestion, causing it to be excreted with stools rather than absorbed into your body.

One 8-week study randomly divided mice into 3 groups and fed them a high-fat diet containing 1% or 2% okra powder or a high-fat diet without okra powder.

The mice on the okra diet eliminated more cholesterol in their stools and had lower total blood cholesterol levels than the control group."

Good morning! 77˚F heading to only the mid 90s because there are a few clouds around.
Happy Anniversary Mostlys.

With little wind and the HI well into the 100s this is the time of year we just sit back and wait for that first substantial cold front. Most of the baked okra is gone so other picking today will replenish my snack-um supply. Got the cologuard package so next week the okra gets sent off.

Good Morning!!!! 55F @ 5:45AM. Sunny. High 91F. Winds light and variable.
Good weather yesterday, with warm afternoon temps and light hazy smoke. Looks like more of the same today, but with lighter winds. Happy to see the lows dipping into the 50s again, too. But the first official day of Fall isn't until the 22nd of this month, Drew. 😄

Good to hear you all evaded Ida's wrath. I heard on the radio some were killed in their basement apartments when they flooded, I think in NYC.

No such thing as too much bench top space in the shop, eh Paul?

During yesterday's grocery run I heard Dr. Fauchi on the radio saying that a third shot would be normal and available to most of us inside our 8 month interval from the last one. Then read somewhere that the new Mu variant seems resistant to both Moderna and Phizer vaccines, a real good news/bad news pair.

Never had okra, and with all the enthusiasm shown for it here, don't think I'll make much of an effort to change that... :ROFLMAO:

Got the laptop with the bulging batteries cleaned up, cloned, and shipped off yesterday after verifying that an older laptop would boot off a USB drive with the clone copy. Then came home to find that older laptop unresponsive. Something to do with the video adapter that doesn't like the older laptop, so I'll poke around with that a bit today.

I got half the bars tack welded to the grizzly yesterday, using a piece of 2x4 for a spacer to get them all pretty much even. Should be able to get that finished up today if I don't run into too many distractions.

The Gypsy Tour ride is being held again this weekend, but with temps heading up over 100F and their poor record of screwing up the logistics, I'm giving it a pass this year. The organizers of the cancelled event next weekend found an alternate location, so I may head south for that. All depends on smoke and fire weather forecasts.

TGIF gang!🥳

so the okra snot sticks to our cholesterol and hauls it off?
almost sounds too good to be true.

Dennis, thank you. Every time I go into my Microsoft account it offers to download my clearly owned software.
But it crashes every time I try.
Asks me if I have enough room. But I already have the program.
500meg SSD, 1TB hd, one would think enough...
I clearly don't know what I am doing.
Which is why IT will always be a good field to work in.

I got mine at the same county health department as well.

I like okra but I try to keep it at a level that doesn’t make the soup or whatever too slimy. I like it roasted as well.

61°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 81° today. May get some rain overnight and into tomorrow, and the high temp won't get out of the 70s. (y)

Just need to get through today, and I'm off work for the next nine days. Not hating that either.

Wife is trekking up to the Peoria IL area today to meet a couple from Wisconsin who are interested in adopting our foster dog Isabella, an Australian Shepherd that is blind in one eye and has only partial vision in the other. She's a very head-strong dog, but much of that is just uncontrollable puppiness (Wife calls her Tigger because she bounces all the time). If the meet-n-greet goes well, they'll be taking her home today. We'd hoped to find her a furever home before our vacation started, and it looks like we may just barely make it.

Happy Anniversary, Mr & Mrs Mostly_.

Looks like you have most welding eventualities covered, Paul.

Glad you guys all made it through the storms with minimal or no damage.
