Inside for a break already.... only reads 82°, but humidity is up and I was really sweating.... not used to that here in our dry climate. I got the worst / heaviest area done.... It was a neglected area and some of the weeds had 3/4" stalks and were 4' -5' tall. The next area will be much faster / easier. At least it will be done for another few weeks.....

Oh, forgot to mention....DO NOT waste your money on one of these !!!

I think it would work great on a sidewalk, patio, or driveway to get the weeds coming from cracks. It doesn't work at all on grasses or weeds just growing out there in the field. Forget about using it on gravel.... It tosses gravel / stone like shrapnel !!

I am glad that I only paid $15 for it. I'll end up using it as a regular wire brush on an angle grinder.

Had another line of storms move thru today. We are getting rain in short duration, large downpours.

Ted, I've seen reviews of those things saying they throw bits of wire worse than a cheap grinder brush wheel. They do seem like a great idea, but ... no thanks.

Another band of what looks to be strong storms has developed in western MI and trails back down to a little west of Indianapolis, it's headed due east.

Filled hopper feeder.

Started to unload the small stuff out of the van.

Spread out the composted soil at the southwest corner of the house and got all the weeds raked out of it. Area is sloped so has good drainage and not too muddy.

There's a line from the downspout back there that I need to dig out where it transitions from hard pipe to flex and verify that it wasn't crushed by the Kubota when I drove over it.

Weed kill is looking good but the east side of the frog pond is going to require another shot of juice.

Drew, I know of 2 potentially eligible ladies on the East Coast and have considered making an introduction. BUT, I’m also aware of some of their “baggage” and conclude not a good fit and I just couldn’t do that to my friend Drew. Wonder how many others here on GM have had similar thinking?

RNG. Lost count on how many drill bits I’ve gone thru. Found it best for my self tapping screws to drill a pilot hole first. That wouldn’t work in those thicker, structural areas where I ended up with through bolt & nut. Glad that challenge is passed (hopefully)

92 but feels like 107, I’ve been outside briefly a couple of times, wilted like week old lettuce.

I’ve had gout for about thirty years, I started taking tart cherry supplements a year and a half ago and didn’t have a flare up for over a year, until I got sick last spring. One in the hospital and one I’m currently dealing with. Colchicine will knock it out but can be hard on the system. Large doses of Prednisone will also work and indocin, which can be extremely irritating to the stomach lining. I’ve had indocin take away the inflammation in two hours, but I can’t tolerate it.
Allopurinol will lower the uric acid, but a lot of people have severe gout flare ups within the first two weeks of starting it.
I’m about to play guinea pig, starting a regimen of Allopurinol in conjunction with Colchicine to see if the Colcrys will mediate the short term effects of the Allopurinol.

In the process of some financial dealings, so I’d better get back to that paperwork I hate.

Thomas, hope the gout eases quickly...there was a thread here on Rural Living recently on choosing work boots...do you already have a favorite?
I like Skechers low cut boot only problem don't offer steel toe.

91F slight breeze low 70's over night.

Had 2 quick rain showers while trimming the front field than sun burnt thru the clouds wasn't much fun trimming trying to wipe the sweat from the eye's :( than did dump run stop for critter food and new pair Skechers low cut boots hope they last several years of misuse like the old pair, around 1pm cloudy skies decided to mow the front field almost half way done sun pops from the clouds and you could feel the temp rising  still couple wet areas but least it's mow.

Not much plan after dinner other than deck with feet up enjoying twin stick orange popsicle darn good chance early to bed.

Enjoy your evening all.

House internet was down when I left for work, must still be down as I can’t reach my weather station. Getting lightning alerts on my phone, for home. Radar shows big storm approaching home.

I have so many ash trees coming down, they hide the limbs from other trees during the storms.
😮
But I have a LOT of firewood.

Time to go move some more rounds.

So many of you talking about rain and storms, and I'm wishing it would rain. Temperature in the mornings sometimes just below 80 and then up near 100 in the afternoon, bright sun, and DRY. I ran the sprinkler on the front yard for 5 hours this morning.

JD dealer just sent me a quote and suggested I sit down.......... :)
75 grand and he forgot to include the flail. Looks to be discounted about 10 percent.
Kubota would easily be 10 grand less, plus he spec'd implements that were larger than I wanted.
Plus JD has that proprietary front hitch system that doesn't allow you to use generic SSQA implements.
You can add SSQA as an option but it adds almost 80 pounds which of course comes off lift capacity.

So JD isn't looking so good. He'll tweak the quote but I'm sure I can't afford it.
Plus he quoted a 66hp machine when I wanted something smaller.
Grapple, FEL, tiller and flail mower. I don't want their cheapest Frontier stuff but what he quoted was simply too
heavy duty for me. I sent him a long list of corrections.

And reminded him my grandfather bought a B from his dealership in 1941.

From 400 to 330 to 280 new covid cases daily we are heading in the right direction! 6 ICU beds available. 17% of hospitalized Covid cases the last two weeks were vaccinated break through cases.

94˚F, HI102 sunny.

Went to 4 places to get my truck inspected, finally settled for an appointment for late next week. Went to HD to get peat moss to make a batch of potting soil - they were out.

Pineapple pizza is in the oven.

Drew is the farm where you are going to store your tractor have trees, open grass fields and tillable land?

Mostly, the drive is a DSS.
Big storms just missed us to the north last night, looks like it might repeat tonight.

Trying to refinance Ellen’s house so we can do some upgrades between renters to bring the rental income up and cash out some play money. The paperwork/online forms, etc…, drive me nuts. I’m more patient than I use to be, but not that patient.

86F and partly cloudy, feels like 98F ...

Mixed up four gallons of ammonia, vinegar, dish soap, cayenne pepper and dosed four groundhog holes.

Just finished mowing the lower front and came in for a cold drink. Woman ran down and got fuel while I was mowing.

Going to head back out and work on the upper front before the rain gets here. Looks like the line is 30 minutes (or less) away. Might be falling apart.
