Eric, we call those poor unwanted ugly trees Charley Brown trees here, from the comic strip.

up early, plan is to be off by 7. Should be an easy Sunday morning drive with very little traffic. Yeah.
Toppop and I are going to solve the problems of the world over lunch. Then off to friends in Milton DE, and then
Princeton NJ.

Still debating whether I'll put up a tree when I get back. Will see how the mood strikes me. Cut tree displays are up all over, xmas trees outside Lowes and TSC.

Weather forecast for next week now interesting. Seems like I'm coming back to a lot of rain, which we sorely need, maybe two or three days of it later in the week. I'm done watering the grass seed, Mother Nature, it's all yours.

Drew, was that you in the parade on your super A? :

It sure was pretty wasn't it? The blue of the cultivators caught my eye, someone painted mine a different blue.
I'm not painting mine anyway, want this one to look old and original.
There is a tractor club of sorts near me. Occasionally I'll see ten or more old tractors just puttering down the road, maybe going to the grill around the corner for lunch, maybe just out for a ride. Mostly old IH, some restored beautifully, and one fellow's gorgeous Gen II JD, maybe a 4630. And I have been invited to attend one of these tractor rides in the future. Will surely participate.

35 and the full moon is playing peekaboo behind some clouds. Should rise to 59 and sunny.

riptides, good to hear from you.

Don, finally got my string trimming done...finished up in the dark last night. I've really been impressed with this 58V rechargeable Echo trimmer. Cuts good, battery last a long time and recharges quickly, string is easy to reload...had to reload for the first time yesterday...string seems to last longer than my gas engine trimmer. Loaded some twisted .95 - I think it was called Black Diamond...very nice. My first Echo tool. Only complaint is it doesn't have a shoulder strap...so I rigged up a clamp with an eyelet to put on it and used my Stihl strap.

Dig a little bit of bush hogn yesterday to cut a strip my wife asked me to do. Then put the grapple on and my tiller as counterweight...got some brush and log work to do. Heard some dogs running deer and a couple shots down at the river bottom, so grabbed my shotgun and went into the woods, but nothing came my way.

Get well BEF and Buppies!

Good morning all. Temperature has climbed to 9C/48F already and it's still dark. Once it's daylight I will look over the sheep and then dig up this year's Christmas tree. Most of them have put on a fair bit of growth this year, no doubt in response to the cool damp summer.

I'm tempted to select a really ugly one first, with stunted uneven branches and bare patches, then leave it outside the window set in a tub at an angle to rival the leaning tower of Pisa. A second replacement tree a few hours later should then look great in comparison and may just win me a gold star from teacher :)

Smarter approach than mine...I took my wife for a walk about on our property "shopping" for a tree and none were perfect...but she is a good sport and will settle for an almost Charlie Brown.

On the subject of peanut hay, I just remembered I had posted this photo last year. Zoom to see all the round bales in the distance...

Good morning.

Temp 34 going to a high of 37 Wind SE7 mph. 30% chance of showers.

I have about 1/2" of ice on the driveway with an inch of snow on top of it. All this warm weather will make the driveway soupy with slush so I want to keep the tractor off it until we get a good snowfall. The ice will make a good base and my chains will rough it up just enough for traction.

On this date in 1995 we had 18.9" of snow on the ground. There is your history lesson for today.

Have a good day, all.

Good morning all, 39 this morning going to 59 with a chance of sprinkles. Just planning to lay low today, just do the normal things that need done everyday. Might work really hard on a nap, but we will see.

Buckeye & Buppies, Prayers being sent for speedy recoveries.

Randay, Had to wait a few min for wife's pizza so I went next door and looked at a 2013 Camaro, pretty car, black with a black interior. $18,000. Makes me remember a few cars I had over the years. Hope you find what you are looking for.

Eric, My dad did that trick every year, it always worked.

Drew, Tractor club sounds like fun, glad you can be a part of it.

Have a great day. Ed

Coffee is done brewing. 22° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 51° with sun all day. Another great fall day yesterday. Moon was very bright in the evening. No plans for today. But something will show up. My welding comes no where close to RS's. But it does hold up, Lots of grinding and a heavy coat of paint it is presentable.
Last year this time we were at Don's doing this project.

Buckeye and Buppies best wishes for continued recovery.
Drew, safe travels.
Farmer, loosing 10 lbs is a great accomplishment.
David S, the media makes the sirens going off as if it has not been done since WWII. WE have a warning siren little over 1/2 mile from our place. But never hear it go off at 1pm every Saturday unless we are outside. But the manufactured home park can. They set under it.
Good Morning All.
Riptides, good to see your post.
