Eric.
Found a new visitor taking shelter and making the most of the sun when I went to give the sheep breakfast. Gave me a really mean "don't you dare" look as I started to take away the hay. I survived, so that proves I must be more man than mouse :)

10°F and light flurries this morning, going up to 16° today. Wind chill said -6°, and I believe it. Voice on the radio suggested we may get "significant snow accumulations" Sunday afternoon and into Monday. Guess I better get the rear blade back on the tractor. I haven't even started it since before the holidays.

Best wishes for your surgery, Ted.

A few Randys, a few Pauls, and a few Davids here.

Good morning! 26˚F Ice ice ice. Whipper almost fell on the back patio. It might get up to 34 today. They are still decreasing the lows for Nortic Tuesday to 1˚F for central TX. Last time it got in the teens all the tubing to the windshield washer in the Subaru froze and split. At least I have a garage now.

Good luck on your covid test Kyle.

I will try to get the car inspected this afternoon. It might get above freezing for a few hours.

Got an e-mail about my second Moderna vaccination. Because of the cold they have changed locations and day. It is now back at the neighborhood ballroom (3 miles away) and a day earlier. I'll have only 2 frozen bridges to cross Wednesday. They had to abandon their outside in the vehicle location at the school stadium - too cold next week.

Eric, feed that kitty! Well fed mousers are more productive, ask Gray2. It's not the hunger that makes a good mouser it's the patient wait and stalking - game on.

Went out with hammer to the mailbox to open the door and raise the flag. Letter is ready to be picked up.

I believe wngsprd has 4 or 5 inches of heavy wet snow this morning WOW

Yep...4.5 inches, but not too heavy or wet...rain turned to snow at sunset time and temps stayed below freezing...when I went out at 6am, was still snowing and I could kick some powder. Bad news is the ice forecast for next couple of days.

felt good to get my hair cut until she told me how much it cost.
I've been paying 15 dollars for a ten minute haircut for last 20 years.
I expected it to be more here and now, maybe 20 dollars. So I had 30 in change just
to be sure.
28 dollars.
Wow.
Maybe I'll go every two months instead...

bought some more blueberries to make blueberry apple muffins to take to my elderly MIL on Sunday.

Good morning All.

22 for a low this morning, headed to 29 and cloudy.

The last 2 snow events left 5” and 4” of plowable snow. The next 2 events look to be primarily freezing rain around here. I would much rather have the snow!

Prayers for Toppop and Mom and for LS and medical team.

Have a good day!

Frank

Good Morning!!!! 45F @ 6:45AM. Cloudy early with peeks of sunshine expected late. High around 60F. Winds light and variable.
Rain started at noon yesterday, just as predicted. We picked up just shy of 3/4 inch, and that looks like all we'll get until another front comes through tonight.

I had just enough time yesterday morning to get two pieces of railroad track stacked onto the box blade, and learn that the 3/4" bolts I used on the old BB weren't long enough on the new one. Took another look at the mount for the receiver hitch that came off the old BB, thinking I could modify it to increase the reach of the top link, but decided to just weld another 3 1/2" onto the cylinder rod instead. Between a long lunch and some phone calls, that work took the rest of the day.

More office work this morning, then not sure what the afternoon will bring.

TGIF gang!:drink:

Good morning. It's 31° here, feels like 21° with north wind at 14 mph. We may get to mid 30's this afternoon.

We don't have any serious freezing temps until Sunday night Monday morning when low is forecast at 16°. Then .. only 7° Tuesday a.m. I've got three valves to close to shutoff water to the shop, horse barn, and all the outside hose bibs around the house and in all pastures.

The shop is probably ok, as there only the bathroom in the quarters on an outside wall (southern facing) so I can open the doors on the sink cabinet and keep heat on at 60°. I'll likely still shut the water off though.

At one time, I had all the north facing hose bibs foam wrapped but .. our squirrels decided the foam needed to be chewed on .. so I gave up on that. It's just too easy to shut off water and drain the lines for 30 hours or so .. Monday / Tuesday. The tractors are all fine and no present need to use either of them

Patricia is closing her offices Monday .. and possibly Tuesday .. weather dependent. Maddie .. will be cooped up at school.

Hope the "Presidents" .. enjoy the cold.

Hope everyone stays safe and warm today.

Prayers to all.

Good Morning
18 here and supposed to get to 30 with clear sky.

Got the snow cleaned up yesterday, it was close to 6”.

Mostly- switch was in the storage space between two dormers, woodshedding meant practicing, bass was an instrument, not a fish. Hope that clears it up

After plowing most of the day was spent on speaker cabinet. I did decide to “improve” the SSQA snow plow by adding skids to the mount to keep the bottom of the loader arms from scraping the surface if set too low. I have a mental plan on how to proceed, hopefully I’ll execute it today while glue cures.

Randy, sorry to hear about you mom, I lost mine at 96 years old back in July.

The classic and modified car talk brings back many memories. Over the years I’ve transplanted at lot of small block chevy’s. In high school I put one in a 59 English Ford Escort station wagon, when I reflect on the quality of my work then, it’s amazing that I survived. The only odd vehicle I have now is a Grumman KubVan, which at one of 500 or so built is actually the rarest one I’ve ever had.

Going to try again to day for vaccination appointment at grocery store pharmacy. No word from the county.

Around 1981 I put a Pontiac 455 into a ‘75 Olds Starfire which was their version of the Monza 2+2. Had to use the steering shaft from an early Pinto that was woven cable and could be bent around the exhaust and still function normally.

Our mixed precipitation ended up as 3” of snow. 34 now, low was 29, snowing again now and for several hours they say.
We appear to have dodged the Arctic cold they were predicting a few days ago, coldest forecast low is upper 20s with cool highs in the thirties for about 5-6 days, then several days of 50s later in the month.
LS, I hope today goes well for you.

I want to thank everyone for the prayers and well wishes, no phone call yet.

Toppop, would like to have seen your Super Duty Starfire.
Lot of iron in the front of that small car...a real torque monster.
TorqFire, how's that?

always a fun time to check out the crate engine options on the websites.
Don't you really need a T-Rex certified Hellaphant Hemi for your Ram Lou?
Now I bet Rick would have fun with that. 1000hp will get you downtown in a hurry.

Picked up my fuel treatment for the 800 gallons I have on hand. It's raining cats and dogs here today. 41 degrees. Also picked up my 12,000 pound winch for my new 16,000 pound trailer I'm waiting to be built. I sure hope I can get it within a week or two so I can haul my new to me tractors home.

It would be fun for awhile.
Not very practical but fun.

As far as overloading a car body one of mine was a 64 Chevy II convertible with a 396 shoved into it,
didn't handle worth a darn but sure could roast the rear tires.
And then I built a sand rail using an Olds Toronado drive train, that was a wild ride.
Only had that running for less then a month and someone wanted it more then I did.
I think that was the only ride I came out ahead on.
