-2 right now...high in the upper 20's today. Snow rolls in tonight. If the forecast holds...about 10" between tonight and tomorrow.

**** of a storm heading to the mid-Atlantic states. When we lived there, we could expect a significant nor'easter every 3-4 years...this winter, PA got two of 'em!

15 heading to 30. (darn! a heat wave!)Heavy snow in the forecast with over a foot possible. Tractor is full of fuel and ready to go. Interested in the pump Roy. Those buckets aren't getting any lighter!

I'm still deciding on putting on the 60 inch bucket or trying to use the 7 foot plow. Need to keep an eye on the weather guessers to see if it will be heavy wet or fluffy.
I have my chains put back together enough to use if I need them.
Everything at the apartment house is gassed and ready to go also.
Wife is going in to work for a few hours then heading home before the heavy accumulation starts falling.
Hope everyone stays warm and dry! Be careful out there when cleaning up, Stay safe and healthy!

good morning all. Winter wonderland out as expected, looks like four or five inches
of snow down, sleet came in during the night, could hear it pinging
off the house. A lot more snow due in today.

Going to take a nice hot shower, put on my underarmour and layers of fleece,
and head out for first pass when it gets a little lighter out.
Have my fingers crossed, when I went to start brand new
snowblower yesterday, it would not start. Easy Start EFI my foot. And then once it started it would not go over idle
until I switched the ignition on and off quickly and it
got its brain back and ran perfectly. Not sure but think it has an unhappy electronic choke. Not an auspicious start,
wonder what I'm doing wrong, no manual choke on the machine.
Will read the manual again before I go out.

Neighbor across the street has a 30 year old Ariens blower similar to mine. I hope it starts for them.

no falls, no falls

I emailed my brother in jest and told him to pick me up in his Corvette and take me out to lunch.
Not going to happen with today's snow, and couldn't anyway because car is in shop getting turn signals fixed.
He said whole dash had to come out for them to get at problem area. He will go over the whole car carefully.

Turns out this is not a numbers matching car (and why he could afford it) but 427/425hp in that weight car should be fun.
Personally I would rather wind out a 327-350/365 where you can do so without going 100mph on the street. Like Biden's car though his year style is
not a favorite of mine. Powerful cars are fun
but often no place to drive them or you wind up going way faster than you want to. My brother has owned a side pipe Vette before so he said he
knew he was getting lots of noise. He likes the noise...drive through New Hope like a tourist in the summer.

Last time I got him to loan me one of his Corvettes, I got it up to 130 on the straight away to Flemington, after checking air pressure in tires and making one
pass just to check for hidden state troopers with radar. Then I chickened out. Now no desire to go fast.
My brother used to play a trombone in high school. I think he likes the music and will now have a trombone on wheels.

Good morning, the temperature is 2°F and the high will be 16. Wind E 11 mph. Sunny!

The courier service that Best Buy uses around these parts sent me an email saying that my new keyboard is at the drop spot. I will pick that up today along with fresher greens.

After that it will be energy conservation.

Have a safe day all

First cup of coffee has been poured. 21° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 29° with a few snow showers. Got 1" of new snow yesterday. Wind blew most of it away. No seat time needed. Aunt went home yesterday. So it's back to Sassy and Me. Nice to have company for a few days.

Drew, hope snowblower starts properly for you when needed.

RNG, going to Portland this week?

Ken, when I was going through my apprenticeship (mid 60's). One of my trainers had a Jawa/CZ shop. He used the CZ for Enduro rides. Taught me a lot about the trade and Enduro riding. I had a Husqvarna 400 setup for Enduro riding.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

28 outside this AM. Heading to mid 30's. Looks glazy out there. No desire to go anywhere near the sidewalks. Suppose to have another chance at accumulations today, maybe another inch or two.

Blasphemy I know - I did not even get the tractor out yesterday. Usually I drive around just to get the tires nice and clean. LOL.

Nothing worse than no turn key and go, Drew. Hope it is just a procedural thing.

Off to check on the horses and the daughters dog. She mentioned she may adopt it. Seems to be calm, inquisitive and listens well. So far.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe, stay warm and stay healthy my friends.

23° at 0 dark 30.

Why do people get up so early? Lol

I was on bathroom break, but came down to see the snow. Looks like 3+ or so on back picnic table. I see a few cars going by out front. I’m taking the day off. Might take tomorrow also.

So far not enough snow to bother the tractor.

45 this morning, rained lightly most of the night. My truck is all nice and clean this morning. More rain/snow through tomorrow but no big deal, the wind will be the worst thing.

Arm still very mildly tender if I move it just right, but doesn’t restrict me.
GlD I got Moderna, I see it is 80-90% effective 14 days after the first disease about 55% for Pfizer. It both are great.

29 going to 34 and freezing rain/drizzle, maybe some snow tonight. Got 5" yesterday.

Check, real sorry about your MIL. Sounds like she was a tough lady.

Rick, hope you can get that glass replaced without too much hassle. Bad break.

Kyle, the Steinerman! Thanks for mentioning the Texas Rising...we enjoy Texas history, too.

Mostly, glad you came to your senses and chose nap over bike ride. :)

We took a nice hike during the snow yesterday...a postcard winter wonderland...will go back out this morning to track animals...saw 3 deer at 5am near the house feeding at a plot I planted for them with winter oats, rye, wheat and turnips. Also need to refill the wood rack on the porch. Today's freezing rain and strong winds aren't good news for the power co-op.

Dennis, when there is that much disparity between run time is that because of pellet stove?
.

The pellet stove does contribute to keeping the downstairs warmer, but even in summer, the upstairs unit does the most work.

Happily snowblower started right up.
Took me all of 20 minutes to do this little lane at slowest speed,
sleet started to come down about half way through.
So I'm a little damp but at least not cold
I think this is supposed to change to more snow but who knows.
Bet the roads are mighty slippery but I can hear from the hissing sound of passing cars everything is melted out
there. Township and road maintenance building about 1000 feet away, all good.

Morning all:
A nice balmy 9F this morning going up to 20F before the snow starts supposedly around 5 PM.
Calling for 4-8 inches, we'll see what happens.
Put the blades on the tractor today, check the tarp on the sand pile, then the fun part.
Got an 80+ mile trip scheduled for tomorrow for an audiology test for the VA thought about canceling,
but it's taken a year to get this scheduled so I guess I'll head up to Middlebury VT tomorrow morning.
May throw 4-5 bags of coal in the back of the truck for a bit more traction, especially for when I get home.
Which will be after most of the heavy part of the storm is past, could make the driveway interesting.

Everyone stay safe and good luck with your snow removal efforts.

Good morning! 24 now. Allegedly to to make it to 32 later. Snow forecast off and on all day.

Condolences check.

Got maybe 4 inches of snow yesterday, but it was extremely wet. When we got home from the grocery run, decided to get the snow off the driveway and cut a park to the barn and firewood storage. Barn and firewood paths went well, but first pass down the drive way, about 1/2 down, the snow blower stopped driving  . Pushed it back up the drive to the garage, checked the drive belt, it was ok. Pulled the belly pan and a broken bolt fell out. Little poking around and found the bolt went in the sprocket that drives the axle. The broken bolt was a grade 8 bolt, of course I had no grade 8 bolt of the correct length. Used a grade 5 and was able to finish the drive.

The county road department snow plows left a mess at the end of the drive. That took a while to clear up. It was windy, and even as wet as the snow was wet, a surprising amount got on the cab windows. The hillbilly defroster kept the snow melted off the windows. I was tired when I got done.

We had supper a little early. Just got done eating and there was a knock on the door. A young lady was at the door and slightly panicked. She had hit a deer just up the road, deer was in the ditch and couldn稚 get up. She was ok and her SUV wasn稚 damaged. Took a handgun and went up the road. Deer was alive, but couldn稚 get up. It seemed to have no control of it痴 legs...and no feeling in it痴 legs. So, did, I hope the right thing, and ended it. It was a small deer, so drug it out of the ditch and across the road to roll it down over the bank. Let Mother Nature reclaim it.

Probably better do the work thing. They are making major changes to warranty processing, so I have major changes to make to the reporting files and structure. Fun fun!

Everyone stay safe out there!
