24F and cloudy @ 22:00, headed down to an overnight low of 21F.

A couple of deer were out at the feeders this evening, squirrels had a feast earlier.

Van registration renewal and sticker obtained earlier today, curry chicken polished off, sheet cake out of the oven, frosted, cooled, and sampled. Woman said she noticed the buttermilk more this time around ... ;)

Hope everyone had a great day ...

We had a Jeep Grand Cherokee that did a lot of weird electrical things right before the battery died.

Just put brand new battery in Sunday. This is probably why old battery was dead.

Iphone tip of the evening.
To read really small labels just turn your iPhone into a magnifying glass by tapping the home button three times fast. For those without a home button push your side button fast three times.

Didn’t work

Thanks for the prayers for my sister, she's better, but husband and daughter not out of the woods.

Brother still in hospital, thought he may have intestinal blockage, but X-ray said it was ok.

Prayers he gets better soon.

Just dead ends there. -"St. David's HealthCare continues to focus its vaccination efforts on Phase 1A healthcare workers, including physicians, clinical and support staff, and first responders.
For now, it is too early in the process to know when more vaccines will be approved or when we may have additional guidance on when vaccines will be available to our patients and community. "

The email came from FHS. The one that has 39,000 on the wait list (this morning) with a delivery of 6,000 doses, that the tx site says. So with a waitlist of now over 50K why would they send out another e-mail to sign up for 300 doses - makes no sense.

Are they going to sort through the waitlist in any way? Age, condition,???

Good morning all. Yesterday it rained almost all day, then it rained all night, now it looks like it will be raining all day and night again. So thankful that we live on high ground.

Ron, I'm well past the point of having to write notes, my problem is remembering where the note is :)

"Eric, are you gonna build a LoRa link at your place?"
I sure am, I have wanted to get hands on with LoRa for a few years. Originally my interest was fire detection in buildings, nowadays it is the potential for use in fields that has me captivated.

While Wifi and Bluetooth are great for close proximity high speed data, they are useless if you want to send small amounts of information longer distances. For many years things like weather stations or driveway alarms have used radio signals, however they can be temperamental and become expensive if you are want to go much further than 100 yards. For those that have not heard about it, LoRa (and it's French alternative called "Sigfox") uses revolutionary radio techniques to blow everything else away in terms of performance.

Lora chips originate from an American company called Semtech. Many companies now incorporate these (or far eastern copies) along with the other components needed for radio transmission into a module costing only a few dollars. I made one up into a little test transmitter and left the receiver inside, on the kitchen worktop. The digital info was being received when I got to the furthest boundary on our land, which would be 2/3rd mile away. They claim it can easily go for many miles and I have no reason to doubt that.

I have a few ideas on what I would like to make once I have done a little more proof-of-concept experimentation. As ever with electronics, the key to success is getting the mechanical packing right, so far I have a tentative alternative to the mainstream approach - I will share with all later if you promise not to laugh too much.

It is also possible to add more software and connect devices up to the internet through a "LoRaWan" gateway. A single gateway can be used to put the signals from hundreds of devices onto the internet (Sort of similar to the idea that a single 4G tower can support many mobile phones) No such public gateways seems to exist in this town, I will have a look at this side of things later.

Interesting.

Good morning! 46˚F cloudy, rain likely, high in the 50s. 0.001724" rain. No contact confirmation from the covid vaccine sign-up location #2 - the one I signed up on 8 minutes after it was announced and they are giving out the vaccinations this morning. This morning the web site is reporting 44,692 have signed up at location #1. They will not tell where you are on the list.

E-mail from our Pet Club, our club president has died of a weakened heart and covid. He would collect pet supplies at his house and take them to the shelters. He also trained the dogs to be visiting dogs for the surrounding hospitals and nursing homes. They gave us a lot of good information on training Whipper to be a city dog and Whipper attended his classes. He put out a neighborhood alert that helped us find Whipper when she escaped. He will be missed.

Still very wet from the rain yesterday so Cedarcide day has been moved to the end of the week.
Sourdough is rising, still haven't decide if is will be jalapeño or cinnamon raisin flavored.

Ron, good list.

Good morning! It has been 24 since I woke up. Not really supposed to get warmer.

Found out a friend from work went home early yesterday not feeling well, got to feeling worse, wife got him in the car to take him to the hospital, he died enroute. Pat was only 60. Sad. RIP

Not much else yo say today.

Everyone stay safe out there.

Sorry about your friends, Don and Rich. It is sad that with a light at the end of the tunnel now, that people are suffering and dying just months before the vaccines are available.

Did not waist time watching. Watched Supercross replay from last night's races instead.

5 degrees right now...high about 30 and snow showers.

When I left work yesterday (1530), we had a fast moving snow squall passing through...first few miles, couldn't see more than 100-150 feet, Fortunately, it was a narrow band and cleared up in a few miles. Two more hit as I was driving up I-91 and I-89 between Claremont NH and Bethel VT...fortunately, the last two weren't as intense.

Good Morning
It’s 18 and supposed to get to a high of twice that with mostly clear skies today.

Didn’t accomplish much yesterday, took the dogs to the groomer, watched some of the coverage from DC, glad that it was uneventful.

Headed to Washington, PA this morning for some maintenance, I’m hoping all goes well and I get to come home today, which is the plan.

I’ve got to look into how to sign up for a vaccination, as I’m hearing that anyone over 65 is eligible in PA now.

good morning all. 20 out now going up to low 40's in sunshine. Chilly for sure.
glad to see some of you are getting shots scheduled. My older brother and wife in VA has his scheduled for next week.
I have no idea what local reality is, no one is talking, though website says they are still working on medical workers.

Toppop, after the upbeat yesterday, stock market went up nicely. But I think market is overvalued (think Tesla) and
challenges to economy will continue. Market heavily affected by fear and uncertainty, hopefully that at least will calm down now.

Good morning, the temperature is 20°F and going to a high of 30. Wind SSE 14 mph. Snow!
A couple of inches fell overnight with two more coming today.

I will plow before I do the dump/town run. I do the grocery run on Thursdays because it is the first day of the sales and you never know what 'deals' you can pick up on.

I am happy that there was no more rioting in D.C. during the inauguration.

Have a safe day all

Prayers for all

Prayers for our country

Waiting for first cup of coffee to cool. 21ー with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 38ー with am sun and wind and clouds in pm. Covid-19 vaccine shot yesterday is causing some pain in arm. No other problems. Sassy looks like a little queen after her grooming. Got out and plowed little over 3" of snow off drive and walkway. Grocery shopping today. No other plans.

RNG, pallet jack in action pictures?

Drew, and others that have had more than one significant other. All the stress that must have cause in your life. I only had one girl friend and wife in over 60 years. Missing her is the saddest part of everyday. Brightest is all the good memories. :cloud9:

Thomas, you must not have read all of Roy's list. He had 21 items. Did you run out of E-muffins.

Bird, I do not think it matters which Vaccine you get. Getting it seems to a major problem all over the country.

Everyone stay heathy and safe.

Good Morning All.

Good morning all. Rain turned to snow last night, putting a sloppy wet blanket over everything, Max turned white too in the short time it took him to find the right place to cock his leg. Flooding has closed several roads out of town including the main route out to the north, however we don't feel any more isolated thanks to this virus having done a really good job of getting us used to life as hermits :)

Some much welcome sunshine this morning, new ponds have appeared in just about every field.

29 outside this AM. Heading to lower 40's.

Today the surveyors are suppose to show for the drain field project. While hunting for a plot stake yesterday I came across a small animal grave. Or that's what it looked like, so I stacked the rocks back up, and set the small concrete animal upright. I thought of our little cemetery out back and the wonderful animals that passed through our lives here.

Not much else going on. Trying to stay focused on long term stuff. Still need to find a new family doctor. Bad time to be looking.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe and stay healthy. Prayers for those in need.

Good morning! 46˚F heading to the 60s, partly cloudy with a chance of rain this afternoon.

Kyle When they open up our neighborhood ballroom to give 300 vaccinations I signed up too late. Some people that signed up before I did got their vaccination yesterday. I signed up 7 minutes after it came out in the email blast. The only requirement is defined by the state's 1-b. I'll find out more if I can get to the filling out the forms step, but there are still 49,000 on that list but I think there are 20,000 ahead of me. They will not tell you where on the list you are at and they only update the number on the list once a day. There are several list from this one company - FHS. on the sign-up you are only asked your contact info.

If it dries up today it will be a good day to trim back my wild grass bunches.

29 going to 54 but windy again.

Glad that states are administering the C virus shots...If run well, can look like West Virginia, where 99.6% of their vaccines are "in the arms." If run badly, about a third have been administered, like here. I don't think a federally run plan could have matched WV's performance. A lot can be learned from looking at states that perform well and then adopting the best parts. Now, all of a sudden, Amazon is offering to help. How many people died while they sat on their hands?

Rip, we found a little animal cemetery when we moved here and honored it. But had to start a new one since we had big dogs and I didn't want to disturb the roots under the black walnut tree.

Eric, you'd never know that slick mud is hiding under such a pretty blanket.

Mostly, got the splitter started after 30 pulls yesterday. It's been kind of a game, but yesterday I didn't like it since my back is not yet right. Got all the rounds split and stacked and need to go get more today. Our Monday forecast for snow has changed to rain, but with a Thursday snow now teased.

Good Morning all.

29F and clear @ 07:00, headed up to a high of 43F supposedly.

Need to put the new registration sticker on the van, also probably refill squirrel feeder by the end of the day and see how hard the others got hit yesterday. Seeing some chewing on the corners of the deer feeder lid, suspect it is coons. Had that happen with trash cans at one point. Also clean out and refill bird bath.

Might see if I can sneak out into the garage today and get the rolling scaffold taken apart and brought inside the house.

Need to call about an order I placed last night, where somehow part of it was set to be delivered and the other part was set to be picked up ... :confused2:

Ron - nice cardinal pic ... noticed four of them here, out around the squirrel feeder yesterday afternoon.

Eric - beautiful shot, quite pastoral ... even if a bit chilly looking.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

. . . got the splitter started after 30 pulls yesterday. It's been kind of a game, . . .

It is strange the games we play when we get older. My game now is getting on wait lists.:nurse:

Ron, you are doing a good job on the focus of your picture subject.
