32 right now and that's also where it's going to stay today. I'd let the dog out a couple hours ago...bit breezy, which if it keeps up, is going to make this day colder.

Good morning all

33 now high in the upper 30’s sunny and windy today. The rain yesterday totaled 1.75” the first good soaking for awhile but still need a lot more to get out of this drought.

I tweaked my back a little Sunday moving some pots around in the garden so yesterday was a do nothing day and not much planned for today either.

Stay safe and healthy
Enjoy your day everyone

Morning all! 30 here going to 36 and partly sunny.
Wife's eye doctor visit wasn't good. Now besides macular degeneration she also has glaucoma starting in both eyes. They started her on drops and we have an appointment with another specialist.
Not the kind of news she wanted on her birthday.
On a positive note we decided on a vehicle and ordered a new one that should arrive in 6 to 8 weeks! This should give us both a vehicle that will last us quite a while. ( Now that's a good birthday gift)
She is off work this week so I'm not sure what we will end up doing today. To cold for outside stuff. My shoulder and fingers are acting up so might have to take it easy anyway.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Good Morning. It’s 37 and might gain 10 degrees throughout the today.

When I got back home yesterday there were some boxes sitting outside my shop door.

I haven’t cut anything with chainsaw, but it seems like it is decent quality, I expect that it will work well.

The tilt cylinder from FitRite is of extremely high quality, and came with fittings, hoses, restrictors and quick couplings. I would highly recommend them, but you need to plan ahead, I ordered it back in May, and it arrived yesterday. Brian was very up front about the delivery time when I ordered it, so I’m not complaining.

Spent some time yesterday playing width oldest son’s new “golden doodle” puppy, sure is a cute dog. I’m a firm believer that having a dog in the house lowers the collective blood pressure by a measurable amount. As he also has a 7 month old son, I do think that the workload has increased greatly in his household for a while. But just like my grandson, I get to play with the puppy, and then go home.....

Today I am meeting with a county commissioner and the director of county parks to tour an grass runway airport that the county bought to keep as a park and a functioning airport, mostly for antique planes and gliders, but it is open to the public to fly into as well.

38 outside this AM. Heading to 54.

Pool closed up, unfortunate when draining, about 10 thousand gallons of water decided to follow the waterers water line down to the new horse pasture. I'll have to recontour the whole area as just that little "ditch" ended up looking like the Nile. LOL. The horses do not need pool water.

Electrician showing up again this AM. Final installs on front porch and some pesky GFI's on the farm house that just do not cooperate.

On plumbing, when I built this place we put floor drains where ever there was a water source (heaters, laundry). Unfortunate some dumb person forgot to hookup the floor drain in the laundry room. Yeah, not me, yeah, I got a call about a bubble appearing in the family room ceiling one day. Laundry is on second level. Course by the time I got home....well that bubble worked its way down the drywall seams...and well....

So after that, the washer was replace. And the drain connected to the pan properly, and the dry wall work commenced. LOL.

Hope all have a good day. Be safe. Stay healthy my friends.

mphram, second opinion on the degeneration?

Good morning, the temperature is 13°F and going to a high of 18. Wind NNE 9 mph. 30% chance of flurries.

Yesterday we had about 3-4" of snow stay so I scraped it off the driveway. Better than Toronto, they got 7.5".

Didn't go to town, but I must today.

My washing machine is in the basement right beside the sump hole, can you guess where the gray water goes?

The city of Toronto AND Peel Region both go back into lockdown as of today. Peel region is just northwest of Toronto.

Have a safe and healthy day all

Drinking hot coffee. 18° with clear skies. Heading to 40° with good chance of rain and snow in pm. Got package mailed and did a couple of putter jobs yesterday. Did not get to tractor and winter prep done. Maybe today. No other plans.

Phil, Happy belated Birthday to your wife. New car is always a good present. Hope her eyes get better with drops.

Drew, all my bird feeders have piano hinges on the roof. No problems with leaks that affect bird seed. 2 of them have a cable for hanging. Cable is run thru holes drilled in sides or attached with a screw in sides.

Luther, hope your back gets better.

RNG, hope valve install went well.

David, I never heard of a washer coming off its pad. Are you sure the shipping retainers have been removed. I have a drain in the laundry room.

PJ, guitar repair sounds interesting.

Jim, prayers for your family.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

good morning all
32 going up to 50 today with clear skies
Have doc appt at 8:30am to get my adrenal glands checked, see if they still work after cancer treatment.
Fasting, so I'm sitting here with a grumbly stomach and dying for a cup of coffee.
Otherwise no plans for today.

got email from HF, mitre saw backordered, no ETA, very disappointing. Will cancel that order and go to Home Depot, should be something on sale now.
Though might call HF store in Flemington NJ, about half an hour away and see if by some remote chance they have one in stock.

Papagadget, that gives me hope, I ordered mine on May 21. I’d love to get it before I put the land plane back on.

I’m starving along with Drew this morning, waiting to go for another blood test.

After much tweaking on the carb and timing, I finally got the El Camino starting good cold or warm. The automatic choke fought me a bit.

30 early, 52 later, 60s after that through Saturday. Some rain later in the week.

Our COVID-19 cases have trended down over the last three days, I hope it continues.

Running behind on my morning chores, gotta get moving.

God bless.

based upon your invaluable input, I made version two of the bird feeder, with half the roof hinged. Messed up the
angles so it looks a bit off from the side but it should work. Screws were small so I didn't trust two stainless hinges, went with three.
As has been mentioned, they aren't cheap. So now I have a version to hang from a S hook and a shepherd's pole like a typical bird feeder or a fixed mount
version that gets attached to wood or something solid. Wondering if wind could catch the hinged side, perhaps I need a hook and eye or something similar.

Drew,
Where does the phone fit in ?

Good morning! 62˚F heading to 77˚F cloudy. Headed over to Mom's yesterday and had our Thanksgiving dinner. There were 5 of us. So Mom would not have to cook we pick up a HEB Holiday dinner in a box. It said it was for 4 but would feed 6 people easy. They really liked it. Of course My wife and I cooked our plant based dinner the day before and the Seitan turkey roll turned out good!

The traffic near towns was heavy, a lot of people are moving about. I guess there is no school this week so it's like a big vacation week. We passed the new "largest in America" indoor waterpark in Round Rock and the parking lot was filled. now I know where all the school kids were. Texas

Did a gas and diesel run and some fixes around the house.
Took apart AC electrostatic filter and cleaned out all the gunk.

Stay safe and be well

Good Morning!!!! 54F @ 6:45AM. Sunny. High 63F. Winds light and variable.
I wouldn't call 20+ MPH gusts "light and variable", and it's been that way since midnight.
Same forecast as yesterday, still no rain in the 10-day.

Hope that aquatic detour didn't land you in hot water with the missus, Mike!

Sorry to hear about your laundry misadventure, David. Sounds like the machine was in an out building, no? No drain in my laundry room, either. If there's ever a leak there, water could end up all over the house since it's a slab foundation. That won't hurt the ceramic tile in the kitchen and entry way, and maybe the vapor barrier under the laminate will save it, but I'd sure hate to put that to the test. The last insurance inspector asked me how old the hoses were going to the washer, and when I told him over ten years, he suggested I change them. I still haven't, but they're on my todo list.

Body shop neighbor's compressor motor is full of mud dauber mud, too, Kyle. He's afraid to take it apart to clean it, though.:confused3: Glad you're braver...

Nice work on that top cylinder, Paul. Brian was pretty clear on the delay when I ordered my valves, but that was only for the cylinders which he puts together himself. My valves were drop shipped from the manufacturer and only took a few weeks to show up.

topNtiltFitRite.jpg
Brian sure picked a good name for his company, because everything about the top'n'tilt valve set he sent fit right. I was a little alarmed when I looked at the attachments for the levers, because at first it looked like the valves would have to be fit laying down instead of upright, and there just wasn't enough room to do that. But another look showed the mounts also worked at right angles, and the valve body mounting brackets could be attached to the sheet metal under the tractor seat with only one extra hole needed. Even better, all of the hydraulic fittings matched what was already on the tractor, all nine of 'em! And the hoses were just long enough to reach, too. Had to bob the back of the dash panel pretty severely, but it was easy to do and far enough behind the seat it's hard to notice. Everything worked just as it should, except I had to swap a couple hoses at the quick connects to get the sense of the cylinder movement correct. Hooked up the box blade and pulled both cylinders in all the way, and four hours later they'd only moved an inch. The Kubota valves went full travel in less than an hour, making them pretty much unusable. I think I've used up all my luck for the rest of the year on this one job.

I did get a follow up call from T-Mobile as promised yesterday, but there was no good news for their home internet service. I ended up cancelling it, as it was slower than the satellite and had pretty much quit working anyway. More looking around today, but I have a couple of companies in mind that look promising.

Good morning to all! Low of 33...apparently there were a few light sprinkles overnight, everything was damp. A few snow flurries floating around. High today will only be 46. High temps will be a roller coaster ride this week.... up to 60 by Thursday, then only 38 on Friday....

I was able to sand the remaining pieces and get them stained yesterday, assembly will be today......

After I calm down....

Went to Walmart this morning during their so-called 'senior hours'. Only needed a few items. Upon arrival, there was a long line of people already waiting.... all 20-45ish year olds. As I approached, the IDIOT at the entrance points to the line and directs me that direction.... I asked "what about the senior hours?"...."should I get in front?".... she replies "NO... the special hours will be over in 15 minutes, you probably won't get in anyway".... REALLY! Well, not if I wait in line....

So, left and went to the regular grocery store 1/2 mile away... walked right in, hardly anyone in the store. Got the few items needed, checked out easily.... until I realized, the amount I paid was too much... then had to wait for them to refund the difference....$6. Not a big deal.. but mere principle... you advertise a price... I expect that price!

Enough of the rant.... I am now enjoying my first cup of coffee..and a donut, since I ran out the door this morning without getting any...

Everyone have a great day!

45°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 55° today. Chance for some rain later today, and into tomorrow.

When we remodeled, we moved the washer and dryer upstairs to the space between the kitchen and the sunroom. There's no floor drain there. Hmmm ... you have us all rethinking things, David.
