Think I'll let my beard grow in for the winter, helps keep me warmer. Comes in white as snow.

Drew, I don't know if you use a mask or not but will the beard screw up the mask?

46°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 75° today. Going to be like this every day through Monday or Tuesday. OK, we'll take it.

Nothing spectacular last night, beyond gathering the trash and rolling the can down to the road.

Fantastic news from your doctor, Drew. Congrats!

Not so fantastic news from yours, BEF. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be going back to that office ever again. If they don't appreciate your 20 years of loyalty now, that's not likely to change with more doctors on staff. In the common vernacular, F*** 'em.

Good morning all, 36 going up to 50, sunny, breeze finally died down

Drew - so glad to hear Dr. appointments going well. Voted yesterday, about 20minutes.
LS - dust collector looks good.
Keep seeing 3 point buck on front lawn-disapears quickly so no photo-dog smells him and goes nuts trying to chase (herding dog)
Roy-I am having trouble with both my legs now at night. Might be same thing :-(

Day job is running longer each day, did not pick up sticks or get setup to use mill.

Stay safe and be well

34 this morning and frost on everything above ground level, high 68 today.

My shop vac is a 20 gallon Craftsman that I bought used from a guy in 1978 for $5, most of the attachments are either broken or lost, but I bought a 20’ hose for it several years ago. I was cleaning off my workbench withe the bare hose one day when it latched on to a piece of Lexan and I had to turn it off, I couldn’t pull it off. I’m feeling like I’ve gotten my money’s worth.

Got a doctor’s appointment to check my arm, this is the first day without a bandage in over two weeks.

Roy, Drew and all others with ailments, get well!

Election soap opera continues.

Have a good day.

If you think that...you should see a doctor....PAD can be very serious
My appointment is in 50 minutes...

Since I took the day off to see a doctor...when I get home I might see if I can pair my phone to the tractor's radio/CD player.
I didn't get the manual with the tractor, but I did find it online and downloaded.

I have a script, need to get pre-authorization from insurance, then schedule visit to hospital for a dopplar scan, which will either see the issue, or tell me how the weather is ?? don;t get me started on the insurance scams middlemen problem in the US.

Good morning to all! Low of 38, going up to near 70. We are now forecasted for some rain / snow chances and a cool down for the weekend. Depends on when the cold front moves in along with when the moisture arrives.... just stir the pot....

Gave up watching results of the election last night.... a few interesting results at the state level here.

Eric, no vortex thingy inside the trashcan. After watching videos of ones with or without, most of the ones with the votex did not outperform the ones without.... no need to waste the time / materials to make one. Mine just has a 45 degree elbow inside, pointing down about 10 degrees. The sawdust collected had telltale signs of 'swirling' action taking place.

Ron, Rick beat me to the explanation of why the trash can. Just a big collector.

RNG, this is the wet / dry vac I ordered:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-...V1R-tBh1JwAO_EAAYASAAEgJnwPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

It will replace the small shopvac brand one that I have, it is only 6 gal and 3 hp. It's great for the small jobs and worked surprisingly well for the dust collector. I am expecting the bigger one to do even better.
The design was basically mine, adapting many Ideas from YouTube. Some of those were very elaborate, serving no additional purpose.

Popgadget, the small shopvac actually does very good pulling air through the hoses. The hose between the tools and the can is 2 1/2", the hose from the can to the vac is only 1 1/4", but creates a good vacuum. If you block the hose end at the tool end, it will start collapsing the trash can inward. The new vac will have a 2 1/2" hose for the vac side.... it should move even more air.

Today's agenda is to make my arm, hand, and wrist sore by sanding all those planks. Probably all that will get done today.

Everyone have a great day!

Buckeye, I am finding all kinds of rules that Dr's are making that are anti patient. My dealing with Dr was more with office staff. If they only new what was going on in front office. It was at one of the largest hospitals groups in the area. Hope you find a Dr for your care.

LS, I use a 16 gallon Craftsman shop vac for my dust collecting. Seems to work good. What is the advantage of the trash can?

.

I liked my Dr that retired, it’s the office staff that is the problem.

The trash can collects most of the debris, keeps shop vac filter much cleaner.

LS, nice job, I need to build one but haven’t done wood working in years.

I’m a professional pilot, now too old to fly for a scheduled airline. I still fly charters and for recreation. Flying is a great career, usually allowing lots of time off for other endeavors.

Pun wasn’t intended, but I have installed and maintained hundreds of ground water heat pumps over the last 4 decades, almost all open loop using well water.

Cool, I installed my own geo system using closed loop. Really like it.

Used to have a pilot friend , but small planes and he taught glider flying. He took me up and let me fly glider once.

70°F and .24 inches rain, much needed

Went to bed not knowing, and apparently awoke to no news.

Decided to order appliances (stove & refrigerator) from Lowe’s. Online system messed up, refuses to accept my address for delivery, but I could order for store pickup. Was told to order by phone. Took over 21/2 hours to get proper person on phone. Delivery in Dec.

May be a wet morning. If so, good. I could use an inside day.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

My 12 gallon Craftsman wet/dry vac that I've had now for more than 15 years is still a dandy. I have two hoses; one the size you'd normally expect and one big diameter hose if you want to suck up larger stuff; rarely used, but I did use it this past month to pick up acorns and twigs and such in the front yard. I also have two different filters for it; a normal one and an extra fine one, rarely used, but I did use it years ago to clean the ash out of the fireplace. If it ever dies, I don't know what I'd replace it with, but it would be hard to beat.

Well, circulation in both legs is good...thankfully. My left leg is considerably more muscular then my right...the left left does most of the work, right leg pretty much goes along for the ride. Doc wants me to go to physical therapy to build up strength and muscle mass.

Got the phone (Motorola Moto G7) paired with the tractor's radio...but the app on the phone doesn't connect. Music plays fine through the radio's speakers, but the app should also be able to control the radio/CD player functions. Not super important, but I'd like to see if I can get full functionality.
For a tractor, this (Jensen Heavy Duty) radio and speakers sound pretty good!

64F and sunny ... Ten Day now contains three days with temps at 70F or above ...

Next thing on agenda for the day will be to get those empty tube feeders refilled with sunflower seeds ... might incorporate some cracked corn in there as well. Might see what other pieces I can start gluing up on the second squirrel feeder, now that the first pieces have dried.

Woman has reported that the birds have located the bird bath and are taking advantage of it. Need to hunt up an extension cord that can be used for it and get it plugged in, along with seeing what I can do to get it more level. Very pleased that it remained secured to the deck rail - even with all the high winds we had the other day.

After that run up and pickup the recycle container from the road and bring it back down to the house, before I remove the carrier bracket from the box blade that I use to pick the cans up.

Probably work on area behind west planting bed, adding new top soil, getting it spread, and getting it seeded.

Then probably repair the berm the UPS guy ran over around the lower catch basin and get it reseeded. Need to add some crusher run right next to area as it seems like there is a spot on the driveway that holds water/puddles.

If I get all that done it will be a good start on what's left to do outside before the weather gets bad.

Local election news: levy for the Akron Zoo passed, Summit County elected it's first ever female sheriff.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

Good news Roy, maybe a stationary bike for Christmas?

75˚F Nice day, but missed the park fun because the dentist installed my crown this morning - good to go now.

We have a remote control modelers club that has planes, cars, trains, boats and drones. There is even a remote control airplane runway and flying area.
If I would get a model plane how would this one be for beginners?

Hope you are going to get two of them? You will need to have good mechanical skills for repairs.

Think I'll let my beard grow in for the winter, helps keep me warmer. Comes in white as snow.

Drew, I don't know if you use a mask or not but will the beard screw up the mask?

Chris

Hmmmm, yes I wear a mask all the time when I'm out
good point
Long time ago had to shave my beard off when I was a fireman because I could not get a good seal with the air pac mask.
I don't think my beard hair will act like a HEPA 13 filter...bummer

got my weather station mounted, not on the garage, couldn't get the angle right to clear the gutter and still be level, so looked around to see what else I could use.
Aha, wood picnic bench in middle of lawn worked just fine, out in open so no air blockage and I can just back out the mounting screws if/when I leave.
An old bench not in best shape, no guilt in putting a few holes in it.

picked up Craftsman tool drawer at Lowes this morning, surprised box said 103 pounds, got help putting it in car after folding seats down, but what a chore dragging it into garage.
I really need to get a wheeled mover of some sort, maybe next trip to HF.
