Good morning!!!!

Good morning to all! Low of 53, going up to 86 today, another good chance of showers or storms.

Yesterday, the rain dance may have helped, but not here. When I left the house for some errands, it started pouring about 2 miles away. Continued the whole time I was in the local town ( 7 miles from home) for about an hour. Driving back home, the road was dry at about the same spot it was before. Storms / rain totally encircling the house, but not one drop. They recorded a half inch of rain in that town, over an inch down in Albuquerque. I feel cheated....

Drew glad to see you posting, hang in there, keep your spirits high, take it one day at a time. Powerful dream...

Eric, I had tried to tempt the rain last Saturday by pouring the concrete... apparently concrete does not have a high enough lime content to trigger rain. I hope you have better luck with your mortar mix....:confused2:

Just like RNG, I am glad that there are very few BooBoo encounters here. There are plenty in the National Forest area, just a few miles away, but they really stay there. There is that occasional stray bear that raids a trash can, but is a rare occurrence. Skunks, raccoons, and coyotes are the norm.

RNG, nice to hear of your progress on the PV project! Any pics? Gotta have some action shots....

Today is new shed day! Should be here before noon. Hopefully will be set into place without difficulties. I have to take down a couple sections of the picket fence in the backyard area, and pull one post before they get here.

So, gotta get in gear .....

Everyone have a great day!

Not much to show, Ted, besides the new conduit on the garage wall, and all the boxes stacked up in the garage. Most of the wire runs are underground, and I don't have an x-ray camera (yet). With a little luck, there'll be some new stuff hung on the wall to see. :crossfingers:

Good luck with the shed install.

64°F and mostly clear skies this morning, going up to 91° today.

New contractor (his father, actually) got heaps done yesterday. He not only smoothed out the mounds of dirt dumped and left by the other guy, but also started to skim down and push in dirt from the pasture. Already looks completely different back there. Very open now. He also pushed out the remaining trees around the ditch behind the barn, which we had already presumed would not survive the re-leveling back there. When I left for work this morning, he was already there, and had brought a mini-ex with him. This guy's a go-getter.

Things apparently got ugly over night here in the St. Louis area. Four city cops were shot (fortunately, not life threatening), and someone poured gasoline on one trying to set him on fire. Another guy was killed trying to defend his pawn shop. The 7-11 in downtown was looted and burned to the ground. That's a block from where I lived briefly back in the '80s. Ate a lot of nachos from that place. Not sure what that 7-11 ever did to those people. While driving down Natural Bridge Ave on the way to work, I noted that they looted the shopping center a couple blocks down from us once again. The Rainbow store was completely boarded up with shattered glass all over the ground. The Foot Locker next door installed a metal overhead door after the last incident a couple years ago, so they just shot out all the front glass there but couldn't get in. Sad state of things.

That stinky kitty doesn't look happy with his fellow nocturnal trouble maker, wngsprd. Hope it was all show and no go.

What a shame, this vandalism isn’t about justice obviously.

Land looks nice.

Don, question on your potatoes. Do you plant whole or cut into sections? If cut do you wait between cutting and planting?

If the potatoes were small, golf ball size, I planted them whole larger ones were cut in half or 3rds. Dusted in sulphur and let sit for a few days (can sit up to a week). Can use ashes if soil is not alkaline.

Soil Ph above 7 sulphur
Soil PH below 7 ashes

Thanks
My soil is around 5.5. Was thinking cut in half. May have some ashes in Primo.

Will there be home insurance policy increase?

According to the insurance agent, no.

And when I asked "are you sure?"

He said yes.

Remarkably, the policy also covers the tractor(s). But since I'm now paying almost triple what I used to, that's the least it should do...

You do not have to wait for RNG to share his warmth with you. I have some extra leftover from today that I am going to share with you soon.

I'll try not to, Thomas, but the weather doesn't seem to be paying any attention to my best wishes. Broiling these three days, then cool and rain for the weekend.:confused2:
