Still freexing in the house, then just noticed thermostat turned down, thanks honey.

Hate having to corect slnost every eord.

I typed, hate having to correct almost every word.

Got on work email for first time since june. Lots of crap.

Oh, and i didnt get paid. Had to email boss to see what's going on. I gave boss my personal email to use, found he sent stuff to work one also, that i just now saw... He asked at least 3 times when im coming back.

I want to retire. This whole process has been very frustrating.

Hands have been very painful today.

good morning all. Nice sunny day today, mid sixties going to high 80's, and the sounds of chainsaws will whine everywhere today.
My helper can't come until tomorrow, so I'm leaving most of the mess for him. Instead am heading down to River to return riding mower and get my generator back.
We only lost power here for about four hours, so doubt it got turned on.

first thing to do is go pick okra before it gets too big. I bet half the plants are knocked down
but that doesn't bother them, they just start growing straight up again.

Hope you all have a nice weekend. Prayers for folks in the Bahamas to find their families.

70 degrees this morning going for 99. The yard needs mowing . . . BUT . . . a heavy dew keeps me from wanting to do that early, and the heat keeps me from wanting to do it later. I reckon I'll just have to think about it awhile.

a wonderful outlook
I'm hoping if I think about the leaves and junk littering at least two acres here, that those leaves and sticks will just
levitate and land in the trailer.
I'm thinking pretty hard too...;)

I know you are down sizing Drew but this is what they use out here to clean the golf courses, it would make quick work of your yard.

Poured first cup of coffee. 61° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 75° with some sun in afternoon. No seat time yesterday. Sat on back porch and looked a field next door. It can wait another couple of weeks. Lawn needs mowing again. Back on 5 day schedule. Will get that done before company arrives this afternoon.

Buckeye and Randy, glad your recovery is continuing. Prayers sent.

Good Morning All.

It depends on what car you have if you need additional attachments. I got the kit to raise just about anything up to 5K. If I remember I got the accessories from Summit Racing.

My son has the BL500EXT to fit his Shelby Mustang GT500 frame. It is 12 volt. Carries it in his trailer when going to shows.

I have seen them available for good prices on Facebook and Craig's list.

Good morning. It's 73° this morning and forecast to get to 101° this afternoon. Someone needs to let Mother Nature know that it's September? The Weather Channel is predicting moderate rain chances for this Tuesday thru Thursday.

Mowing around the house, is on the plan for this morning, while it's still relatively cool.

This afternoon I need to sharpen or replace the blades on our 7' rear finish mower. The sandy soil dulls them pretty fast during these very dry conditions but ..... the bottom of the mower gets sand blasted so, nothing to clean out.

Hope everyone, on the East Coast, has nothing more than sticks and leaves to cleanup after the bad weather.

Ron ..... one day at a time.

Everybody have an excellent weekend.

Prayers for all.

Good morning, no damage from the storm here, my brother in Elizabeth City just had limbs down.
Except for the Outer Banks, most of the U. S. faired well.

Car club picnic today, I’ll pick up the 100 pcs of chicken, everyone else will bring chips and pasta salad, maybe baked beans. LOL

Have a good day.

Now the chores...dump run, mow and if time permits, replace a kitchen sink faucet

Yes, America was fortunate to only get a glancing blow. Thank the Lord.

Eric, will the remnants of Dorian now head your way?

103F predicted here. Had 3 neighbor kids spend the night over here.....

Some good college games today.

58°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 79° today.

Got the chickens and ducks fed this morning. Need to make a trip to Carlyle to pick up some feed from Tractor Supply. Grass needs to be shortened as well, but like Bird, too much heavy dew this morning. Unlike Bird, though, it won't be ridiculously hot here later today. Need to take the line trimmer for an extended walk today. Rain expected tomorrow, so that all needs to get done today.

Glad you guys on the east coast seem to have fared well.

Mid 60's now heading to 70's today. Had rain last night see if lawn dries out some before I think of something else to do. Need to fix bottom of the driveway again washed out then take loader off tractor to cut the grass
Don thinking about you last night when I was making dinner, I had a nice steak that I ended up cutting up and giving it to my dogs and I had a big plate of peppers, onions and yellow squash. Only having meat 2 to 3 times a week due to your influence lol.
Ron seat time is good therapy.
Drew good to hear you made out well.
Randy have a good time at the gathering

Have a safe day and enjoy

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

I hope that everyone is having a decent and manageable wekend.

Dorian passed by last night with winds ~15mph and leaving ~.10” of rain, Today’s low was a mixed sun/clouds 48ºF; 60ºF presently with decreasing breeze and increasing sunshine; and I expect today’s high to reach the mid60ºF’s later. I expect to see this pattern continue till midweek next week. Dog walk #1 and the dump run accomplished I need to think about today’s plan,

“BUT . . . a heavy dew keeps me from wanting to do that early, and the heat keeps me from wanting to do it later. I reckon I'll just have to think about it awhile.- Bird

My definition of “heat” is different but the “thinking” part is similar. I hope not to see this pattern continue.:embarrassed: I need to start thinking less:embarrassed:

BEF- I hope the docs and you find an effective response to your neuropathy. I stopped all the prescribed neuroleptic seizure medications because of their side effects. I am currently taking a low dose of amitriptyline, Vitamin E, and herbals to address my neuropathy. I forget if you have tried alternative approaches in addition to the medical response. I had some + responses with acupuncture, herbals, enzyme supplements, and diet changes. I can usually “tune out” most of the “sunburn” pain, the pins & needles, and crawling bugs during the day; it’s at night when they become noticeable and mess with my sleep.

It does read like those on the mend and healing continue to mend and heal. I hope the processes continue.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

74°F and .54 inches rain. Looks to be a drier day so far. Maybe get my bucket finished. Never had good luck painting in the rain.

Wife invited BIL and his GF and a neighbor couple for dinner. Home made lasanga. Mmmm

Glad Dorian was more bluster than catastrophe.

No wonder Sears is in trouble. Went to their parts store for capacitor. No luck. Couldn’t even cross reference. And this is a Craftsman bandsaw. First safe suggestion was HD. Second was a used appliance place down the street. Appliance guy said he’d never seen capacitor with leads only terminals. Gave him the numbers, he reached over from where we were standing and pulled one out a pile of stuff, confirmed size and said ‘try this’ no charge. Works great.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

So glad to hear.

My middle daughter has been lobbying for baby back ribs. Well, they had them on sale at our small grocery store for $2.48/lb. I bought 2 racks and found an instant pot recipe. They smell good. They have to go into the oven and be broiled after instant pot cooking to sear them a bit with BBQ sauce.

We will see how they turn out.

We used to have an outside grill and a smoker, but we've gotten lazy. We're rather fond of baby back ribs ourselves, but now I just buy them ready made at Sam's Club. Of course they cost a bit more, but sure are good and without all the work. I've got 2 spare racks of them in the freezer right now.

Dave- I am happy you were able to find the capacitor replacement. All the Sears stores even close to "near here" are closed along with a few dead malls. It's sad that the once fertile farmland that got covered over by the development is now covered by the cracking tar, asphalt, and cement in those dead/dying malls.

I managed to mow 3 hours worth of "lawn" and hopefully recreated my family's "secret recipe" for Kosher semi-sour dill pickles this afternoon rather than lose myself in college FB and/or MLB on TV. BoSox is coming up and PennState vs Buffalo later.

Baby back ribs reads like good eats. It's a 2 day process when I make them. I am trying not to eat them as often.

I hope everyone's day is going well.
