Coffee is done brewing. 48° with rain this morning. Heading to 71° with rain ending before noon. Got lawn cut and other small chores completed. Back to golf cart lighting project today. Too wet for weed killing.

Jay and Eric. Great pictures.

David, thanks for explanation on LP line bore job.

Don, I use a stick for push just about every piece of equipment I have that you push material into cutting tool. I have featherboards for my table saw, router table and band saws. But rarely use them. Job is done before remember to set them up.

Drew, hope your critter bite is healing.

Buppies, prayers for quick healing and results.

Prayers for all in need.

Good Morning All.

Good morning! 75˚F very cloudy 80% chance of rain. The heavy rain is holding West of us so I might try a garden visit this morning.

As people move here and rent a garden they have no need for their garden tools and donate them to the garden barn. Over the past 15 year the barn is overfilled and this coming week we need to save the best and get rid of 50% of the accumulated tools.

That is not my hand in the router pic. It is another student's. Our instructors are very safety minded, only 50% have missing finger tips. They do have the hold downs for long boards to put on either side of the router but we were working with 8" pieces.

David, thanks for the play by play and thanks to Eric for the paver pic under the gazebo, nice gardens.

warm 71 going to 92. No relevant rain in ten day forecast continues, been weeks since we had a decent rain. At least I was able to stop mowing the lawn for a little bit.

Up since 3, since I slept yesterday afternoon.
Arm is swollen half way up between wrist and elbow, but overall swelling down, can now close my fist. Progress and onward.
I guess i need to wear gloves more...

another volunteer collards pick party this morning, likely the last. Church group from neighboring town. Pastor in 80's says his congregation
who got the collards the last time said, any more of those good collards? They were the best we've had.
Now I'm sure the good Pastor was trying his best to come up with a thank you but I was touched.
Frankly these collards are picked at about half the size of normal
so they are more tender plus there are different varieties that the recipients have probably not had before.
We are pretty much stripping the plants for the summer, I will bush hog the tops off, and see what survives into the Fall.

After dinner yesterday I got a little work time in and powerwashed a variety of open shed stored equipment
with layers of pollen and/or mold; felt good to get all that equipment cleaned up.

Rick, doesn't your big tractor lift that rear mower high enough to get under easily for blade changing?
Clearly you are a lot higher/easier to work on using the FEL.

for our musicians, I wish I were back in PA for this little event, a first for our Meeting. Not sure who all is coming.

Drew .... the RFM (in pictures) is used with our 55 hp small tractor. I can raise it sufficiently to get under it to remove / install blades but, pressure washing, in that position, is an unpleasant task. Did that once ..... just once. Raising it up in the manner, shown in the picture, is best done lifting with grapple, as opposed to chain hooks on my bucket. I can position tractor behind the RFM and the grapple has the reach to hook up to the front side hitch. The first time I did this, I lifted from the front side of the RFM. This forced me to have to work directly under the raised grapple.

It's 31° with a light snow shower this morning. Yesterday was in the mid 50's with a cold 15-20 mph wind and partly cloudy. It looks like today is going to be a about the same. The forecast shows cooler temperatures with a chance rain for the next seven days.

I did get a few little things done yesterday. I'll see what today will bring.

Hope everyone has a great day.
CWB.

Good morning to all! Low went to 40, only up to 64 today. Today another windy day with gusts to 40 mph! Yesterday afternoon had gusts kicking up the dirt from across the road again, I know for sure that his seed ended up on our property, strange plants growing everywhere....

The wind tapered off at around 9pm, then came back with a vengeance, waking me up around 11:30, then at 1am, then 2:30, finally said 'heck with it' at 4:30 and got up. Of course, just about sunrise it was barely breezy, not for long though, gusty again now. I'm still going to try and cut the grass, hopefully staying upwind from the discharge.

Buppies, prayers sent for a quick healing process and future good news.

Drew, prayers sent for expedited healing of your bite and decreased swelling.

David, glad to hear of your 'short line' success, hopefully the longer run goes easier!

Hope everyone has a great Saturday! I'm heading out to try to cut before the wind gets really bad!

Good Morning. It's 76°F and overcast this morning. Forecast is for 85°F this afternoon with possibility that we'll get storms this evening. Most are expected to be north of I-10.

The local Wildlife Management SIG is putting on a seminar, this morning, on Hummingbirds & Butterflies at the VFD Station. I'm going to see if I can improve what we're doing for the Hummers. I'm still waiting for Texas A&M to develop a "Super Hummer" that feasts on grasshoppers.

I need to finish mowing our 9 acre yard today. I got focused on chopping down wild flowers, in one of our pastures, the last couple of days and the grass in yard that I didn't get to, is now almost 12" high.

Buppies ....sorry to hear they're carving on you again. Heal fast.

Drew ....... work gloves! These are hard to beat and on sale for $3.99 often. When they get dirty, throw them in the clothes washer. I put mine on top of the dryer to dry.

Mechanic'''s Gloves X-Large

Don .... I think Eric is talking about fingerboards, like these on my router table.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Prayers to all.

Drew, watch that swelling. Hope it goes down fast.

Eric, thanks for posting those pics. I love gardens like that.

Good Morning from SoCal,

Going to mid to high 70's today, with the always present breeze... should be a good day.

Done with the coffee, just one cup, need to LUBE up the new Brush Cutter.

Then over to Harbor Freight, need to look at their Post Hole Digger.
Any opinions on a Hand Held type Post Hole Digger vs the Tractor Mounted Unit ?

Hope all goes well for the crew out there !

70°F and no rain looks to be a pretty day ahead. And a busy one attacking my 40 ft LP line. New plan thought out. Proper prep is gonna be key and unhurried execution. Concerned that small errors could be magnified over that increased distance and most likely a one shot attempt. Tighter working space on both ends. Will document and post later
Coffee first

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

California will get snow and possibly two months worth of rain from back-to-back-to-back atmospheric rivers - CNN
RNG, at least no forest fires in this...
93 here and folks will be snow skiing in the Cascade Mountains.

More weather hype, Drew. May is the start of the dry season out here, so it doesn't take much of a storm to set a new record. I've been drowned out of campgrounds by rain on Memorial Day weekend a few times in the past.

I'll shoulder my share of the responsibility for the storms, though. I need to be out working on the van and landscaping, and the rain puts a stop to that. My house guests from last night also get some; they left early this morning to cross the Sierra Nevadas on their motorcycles before the next storm front got 'em wet. And I'm afraid their stay in Boisie will be a little more than moist...

Rick, We do have those finger boards and were shown how to use them on longer boards longer than the samples we were practicing on.

Drew, puncture proof gloves, Free sample for our TBN business maybe?

Good Morning!!!! 57F @ 10:30AM. Partly cloudy skies this morning will give way to cloudy skies and rain during the afternoon. High near 60F. Winds SSE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall around a quarter of an inch.

Early start this morning preparing coffee and nuking breakfast burritos for the guests. They were on the road by 8, and I've been in the garage laying up more sound deadening panels, and puttering while the glue dries.

Hope this recovery is a quick one, Buppies, and you too, Drew!

And I hope the weather breaks in your favor soon, Ted; it's gotta be maddening not to be able to exercise that new tractor!

Ancient and illegal Bill? Sounds right up our alley...

I'm thinkin' that with all your new found experience and planning, David, the next hole will go a bit more smooth.

I was hoping to get some weeds sprayed before this next storm set in, but the herbicide didn't have any time defined between when it was applied and when it was rain safe. Looks like it'll be on and off wet here until Wednesday, so I'll just wait for it to dry out. May need to do a little mowing first though: The weeds along the driveway'll probably be a couple feet high there by then.

Hope everyone's weekend is a pleasant and restful one!

I have one of the HF augers, it's ok, but no comparison to a tractor mount. I did probably 30 holes with the hand held. It will definitely make you aware that your muscles aren't up to the task....you WILL be sore. Once I got the 3 point auger, the handheld one has just been a wall ornament in the shop!

It will all depend on your tasks... Just a few holes, then go with the hand held. I use the big PHD for a lot... Digging holes for trees/shrubs, landscape end posts (retaining wall bracing), fence /gate posts, etc...

The impact of the coming storms in this part of California won't be as large as it's looking for the rest of the country as they move east. Texas and Oklahoma particularly, watch out!

Yep, this morning the NWS forecast for us was 74 degrees going for a high of 82 with an 80% chance of rain. Well, the rain arrived just about noon and so far I've gotten 2 inches and it's still raining.

Buppies, prayers. Hope for good news.

David, thanks for description. Not sure i exactly followed, but you got it done.

Drew is done picking, and im planting.

Eric, thanks for the pics. Really pretty gardens.

Im still 20 posts behind reading...

Got garden tilled. Then started planting. Using new hdpe weedblock from amazon.
Much heavier than the landscape fabric. Even put it between potatoes and corn rows.

Im wore out, got all planted but last 2 rows of corn. Wife only bought 2 small packs.

When tilling, noticed some plants growing, was pumpkin where i tossed the one from last yr, so tilled around them and will let them grow. At far end of garden, so out of the way.
