Good morning!!!!

It looks like the low was 38° this morning, yesterday was in the mid 70's and sunny. Today is going to be in the low 80's sunny and some wind 15-20 mph.

Going to try and make it out to the rifle range today, hope it's not that windy at the range. Not sure what the rest of the day will bring.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
CWB.

Good morning! Today is the first full day of Fall for us and thunderstorms and a cool front are pushing through. Temperature now is 74˚ but will get up to 77˚ before it plummets to 66˚. We are under a flash flood warning and had several intense thunderstorms last night. Whipper gladly slept inside.

After watching the Great British Cooking show last night I made Mom a carrot cake with lemon icing. I have never seen the British make a cake and icing without using flour, eggs, oil, sugar, or BUTTER, (lots of butter), but mine always comes out deliciously nutritious. That would be a challenge for them to make on their "technical challenge" day of cooking.

Happy Birthday to the Mrs. Kyle.

Edit ; Looks like there might be a delay in getting to Mom's, lots of flooded roads. Rains headed your way Kyle and Rick.

Woke up to the sound of thunder, how far off I sat and wondered...

We got about 30 minutes of hard rain. We needed it.

Don, this weekend is the Wendish fest, and I see the fish fry is next weekend.

RNG, hope you get some rain soon. You have more patience than I when it comes to electrical systems. I tend to Botch/Bosch them all up. :)

Time to go work on the riding mower. My dealer doesn't have a fuel pump. I hope wng's trick might work. I won't be able to try it out until it dries. The problem only rears it's ugly head when cutting thick heavy grass like Topps had to cut (when it needs the most fuel).

Good morning to all! Low of 42, going up to 74. No rain forecast for the next week. Got a total of 1/2" as of yesterday morning.

Got the little laundry room tile project all grouted. Went to take out the drain from the sink and broke the cheap metal retaining ring....too late to run into town to get a new drain.... Now on tap for this morning. Then get it all back together.

I'm soooo glad we figured out the Avon lady stuff....was really funny though:laughing:

Nice to hear that you guys in the great state of Texas are finally getting much needed rain. It did green up a bit here for a short time, but we are still in severe / exceptional drought. Extended forecast is for a wetter than normal winter...I hope so.

RIP, congrats on finally getting the roof secured, now it will be nice to continue working in the shade.

Drew, take it easy with the driveway, don't push it too much....your back might talk to your wrists and start a conversation with the neck...all of a sudden your got a rebellion !

Everyone have a great weekend, stay safe. Prayers out for all.

Bird, over 5 1/2" of rain.

I still don't really know how much rain we've gotten. The NWS site at the Denton Airport, 10 miles north of here, is out of order since about 5 p.m. yesterday. The TV news showed places around us that got from 7" to more than 8" yesterday evening and last night. They also showed lots of flooding, cars stranded, homes flooded, and so far only one death by drowning in Arlington. It was not raining here when I went to Walmart for a few groceries before 8 a.m. this morning, HOWEVER, IT'S POURING RIGHT NOW!! AND I CAN SEE MY GAUGE JUST NOW GOING PAST THE ONE INCH MARK!

70°F and .13 inches rain. Over 165 inches ytd

Another couple of hours slowly mowing. Second cutting of area, already a foot tall and so thick! Flail really bogs down if I go too fast. I suspect it is going to take multiple cuts before it starts being manageable.

Likely mow a bit more today.

Prayers for all

Happy birthday Mrs Kyle

Be safe
Have a great day

RNG, I agree on Blue Sea, top quality.

Drew, take it easy with the driveway, don't push it too much....your back might talk to your wrists and start a conversation with the neck...all of a sudden your got a rebellion !

Thanks. I stopped before I over did it. Kind of...
I pushed and pulled a squeegee for four hours and five pails, that was all my legs could do on that hard surface. Got the hardest part done, used a car wheel cleaning brush as my edge brush, that worked nicely though of course it wrecked it.
Only 25 more pails to go.
I'll do this again tomorrow and then I think rain is coming in.
Material is nice, thick and gel like, looked nice when dry. All the streak marks disappear when dry.

I need some driveway pixies

I first thought of replying that you went pretty far, then realized that your only a 1/6th of the way....maybe you could get some gremlins to come out at night and suprise you by morning.....driveway pixies are always getting into trouble...they might coat the fence too...

I'd say you're a lucky feller, Thomas. I wouldn't mind having a big bowl of that clam chowder myself.

Best laid plans of mice and men.... wife wanted to go up on the mountain with the boy today. Went right after breakfast and fed him lunch up on Skyline Drive. We ate after we got back, easier that way. Pretty but hat to look at what was up there as the clouds were right above us and everything in the distance was very hazy.

Drew, you did the easy part first, the shady part. :) Looks good.

LS, nice job, pretty.

Have a good night Ed
