It was 45° ( toppop52 .. thanks for the degree symbol) this morning, for some reason it feels cooler. Yesterday was in in mid 80's with some wind and mostly sunny. Today looks like a repeat of yesterday.

Today we are meeting our daughter to gave back her cat that we have been taking care of for two weeks. Not sure what the rest of the day will bring.

Read this morning about a tornado hitting Queens. Not sure I've heard of a lot of tornadic activity in that area of the country.

Electrician is coming by this morning to see about tightening up the storm-loosened power line to the barn.

Need to take the starter switch out of the Husqy rider to check and clean all the connections. Could be a bad switch, but I'm betting on a bad connection, as I can hear the power click on when I wiggle the harness.

Going to try fitting into the schedule a much needed mowing of the pasture today. Probably won't happen until this afternoon. A cab with AC will be a good thing today.

Would be nice if the afternoon would be dry a few hours. We do have Hurricane Hector barreling down on us, but I didn’t see this rain as being related. Need to shift some north to our wild fire.

A fine day for melons, and first time I've ever seen a yellow watermelon.
Saved a bunch of seeds for next year.

Did a lot of work outside, just plain tired at the moment, a/c and a comfortable chair just the ticket.

Very strange to find these two melons touching each other and covered in white fuzz this morning. Cleaned them both off totally but
both were ripe and time to enjoy. Also picked the Golden Perfection melon, the round one, and will give that a couple of days on the counter.
Usually they started smelling sweet...
Going to have at least three big yellow watermelons to take to food pantry next week. Plus some of these cute little ones in different colors.
With all the rain we've had, not much chance any will be very sweet. I believe the Golden Perfection melon is a honeydew.

quiet night in, watch a movie, read a book.
Make first contact with some aliens.
