Nicotine is one of the most difficult chemicals from which to try to quit. One has the addictive qualities of the nicotine, the addictive quality of the role of the behaviors (memory motor strength) related to use like the acquisition and methodology of using, all kinds of environmental cues including smell (coffee) to trigger use, and a relatively supportive social environment w/i to use (although that is changing).

I never smoked cigarettes, but my wife was a +2 pack/day user. Her quitting smoking was not pretty.

I think there are many ways to quit; and different ways work for different people. I sure ain't sayin' it's easy. Since both of us smoked, we were buying our cigarettes 10 cartons at a time from an Indian Reservation in the State of New York, so they were cheaper without the state tax. But New York's Attorney General filed a lawsuit to require them to collect the state tax. At the time, we had just received our latest shipment of 10 cartons when I decided to quit. I simply smoked the last cigarette in a pack one night before going to bed, and decided to quit; never smoked another cigarette (or anything else). Of course, habits are hard to break. I never felt any physical withdrawal symptoms, but would catch myself reaching for my shirt pocket only to find nothing there. My wife had a much harder, slower time of quitting. She started going outside to have a smoke instead of smoking in the house or in the car whether I was around or not. So she eventually smoked that 10 cartons, and even bought 2 or 3 packs locally before completely quitting.

67°F and .03 inches rain

The volcano continues to be devastatingly spectacular.

Will be shutting down my power this morning to install the new breakers and a couple of wiring modes. Hopefully just a couple of hours.

Prayers for all

Be safe
Have a great day

A TV without a tuner is a monitor. Pay attention to the box. The costco vizio 65" one is a monitor. You can buy an ota HD tuner, with DVR ,no harddrive, for around $50 on amazon.

A TV that does not get OTA!
I'm really out of touch.

I've been watching some youtubes on how to fix the TV. The TV just clicks and nothing happens and is most likely a capacitor. Has anyone replace a capacitor in a TV?

I haven't, but there are a number of videos on Youtube that describe to process...do be careful and ensure you discharge the capacitor first.

2018-05-19,

Got the chipper assembled, but still need to check the PTO shaft length to finish the job. Unfortunately, rain started so it was time to quit.
It's bigger than I thought...

Chipper_2018-05-19.jpg

Probably going to be too wet to try it this weekend. Supposed to be a bit drier tomorrow (Sunday), so maybe I'll get to rig the driveshaft and purge the hydraulics...
I have a dolly I used for my Woods 5000 chipper/shredder. The Woodmaxx chipper should fit, but the infeed chute may through the center of gravity off far enough the I can't use it. Also, the weight difference (the Woodmaxx weighs more than twice as much as the Woods unit) may make it very difficult to roll. We'll see...

Busy day driving one of my son's professor around the area. He was up for a conference. Took him to airport a little bit ago.

Rained all night, but is a mist now. Rivers are flooding.

See another good thread got locked because of a couple people that don't know when to stop acting like children. Sure wish TBN would punish, remove, the offenders instead of locking the thread.

That support bar and eyebolt will fall off the first time you use the chipper. I do not use mine. Because the chute is over top of my tiller when stored. I have put a lot of pressure on end of chute to see if it would pull chipper over. My 170 lbs would no make it tilt. But I can see where it could be a safety issue. I did drill a hole in bar to keep bar in place when needed. Also drilled and tapped a hole in bar to store eyebolt in when bar is not used. Even though it was tight in bracket it fell out while using chipper.
I think a green chipper would have looked good behind your tractor.

Yeah...green would be nice...don't think Woodmaxx sells a green chipper, but there is a green and yellow one. If I recall, that's an extra 50 bucks for the green and yellow. Rather than spend the money on that, I bought the spare parts kit (belts, knives, extra shear bolts and such) plus the US manufactured PTO drive shaft.

I got a spare set of blades. Spare shear bolts came with chipper. I doubt by tractor will shear a bolt. I did stall tractor first time I shoved a 6” log in it. I have learned to use feed valve to feed the larger pieces into chipper. You should not have that problem with your tractor. But keep them shear bolts handy.

Good evening everyone.

Bird- I agree. People have to quit in their own unique way and timeframes. Wifey went cold turkey after trying other alternative methods w/o success. Self hypnosis tapes made her chain smoke. :(

Ron- Your dolly is professional looking. Nice looking flail mower too.

Roy- Congratulations on the new chipper. You have a nice looking rig. I wish you many uneventful hours of operation.

BEF- That thread looked like trouble and I avoided it. I quickly tire of the BS drama and food fights. I bet that some of the "usual suspects" are the posters who were causing "mayhem" when I first joined TBN. Personalities are what they are for better or worse.

Randy- That moisture feed from the Caribbean impacting on you and the Southeast and MidAtlantic coastal states is pretty impressive and is predicted to stay awhile. Your area is flooding and the Southwest drought is worsening and growing in area. :( This is bad.

It rained all day here and I do not think the temperature hit 50F. I actually fired up the wood stove this PM.

Good evening all. 73F this morning, mostly cloudy, moderate breeze. Wind came up very brisk and gusty, sky went to partly cloudy back to partly sunny, and high temp was 90F. Bike ride first thing this morning to beat the worst of the wind and heat. 56 miles done about 12:15 lunch nap and boat searching filled the rest of the day.
Drew wifey was gun-shy on spending 4500 to replace transom, no back section to minimize amount of work to replace transom. This is our third wood replacement project and by far the costliest. Also had about 20 hours of interior work and anothe 300 to replace another wood structure between port side couches. Hope to get a fish and ski to replace.
Don, have replaced Samsung capacitors in power supply. Watch 3 different videos no one that I saw had all the info in the video. Took longer to work out procedure, than to do it. I am no expert, had the best video and checklist to perform operation, work on first try. The TV I had the repair would last about 5 years.

I got the TV apart and checked the three boards. No visible sings of buldge in any of the capacitors. No burn no melts. Checked out a tv repair place near Georgetown. He gave me a hint of maybe a cracked solder. He also said he could check it out for $45 and if I decided the final repair was too much and wanted to buy a new TV the $45 would go to a new TV. I'll pack it up and take it to him Monday. he said the TV I have is a 2K and now the new TVs are 4K I'm only one generation old. My bedroom TV is four generations old.
Kyle I checked out the curved 4K TVs at Sam's, and also the 60" 4k Sony at the repairs shop. The sony had a better picture but I'm not quite ready to throw in the towel on the old set.
Thanks for the heads up on the monitors. That cut out about half of the selections.
