Good morning!!!!

Got down to 32...ice in the bird baths and frost on the ground...even though windy...hummingbirds are wearing parkas...I put out warm "juice" for them.

Just made a long to-do list...was supposed to go hunting but felt guilty with so much to do and leaving Coco home alone...wife in NC taking parents to docs again...maybe I'll get a hike in.

Harper's Ferry is very interesting...haven't been to Gettysburg...that Inn looks nice.

Drew, hope the frost didn't hurt your plants.

Drinking second cup of coffee. 26° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 55° with lots of sun. Yesterday mower maintenance did go as well as I thought it should. Got manual out for mower and deck. To drain and fill the 2 gear boxes. I needed to remove them. Got that done but called it a day. Still need to remove blades and sharpen them. I have done this many times before and should not have any problems. I hope. No other plans for today.

Buppies, I worked a similar shift when I in young. 5:30 pm to 4:30 am. Did not take me long to start looking for a job that did not have a second or third shift. Spent 40 years at that job. With a few needs to work those dark hours. Took me almost a week to recover from working those hours.

Drew, hope frost did not do to much damage.

Don, I have some 1940's tongue and groove wood paneling that I removed from our living room. No luck selling or giving it away. I turned it over and started using it for shelving in my pole barn.

Good Morning All.

We are at the Inn At Cemetery Hill

hopefully no ghosts in your room! :D
sounds like you are having a great time, drive safely and after you see Buppies you are going to swing S/E and see me before you head back home over the big bridge.
Yup, got this planned. :dance1:

I plan to visit several of you in driving range over the next few months, thanks for the invites.

About 35 out this AM. Suns up, warming up. Need to do more dump runs today. Shoulders a little sore from all the overhead work.

Don, your wood is exactly what I need. I am going to look at some down in Richmond tomorrow. It will be a good break for the wife and I. I go in spurts during reno work. Full tilt to nothing. Yesterday was about eight hours straight, I looked up and it was 7PM. Nice!

I hope all have a great day today, and a good weekend. Hope the weather breaks for all - for the better.

Be safe!

36°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 62° today.

Guy from a nearby town came by yesterday evening to pick up the free electric stove/oven I'd listed on a local Facebook buy/sell/trade group. Starting to get the bigger things out of the garage to reclaim it for our vehicles.

Wife drove up to Staunton IL yesterday to pick up a "loveseat bench" from a guy who makes them up there. It's essentially a wood bench with a table in the middle. She wanted it next to the sunroom where we'd had a bistro set, which will be moving to the new deck.

Don, that's a shame about the building. Looks like a nervous place to be inside. Is that a Titan tape measure?

Hoping to get in some golf this weekend, or a trip to the driving range at very least. Still haven't even swung a club since last fall.

Awake but shouldn't be last of nighttime work thank goodness. Very cold last night and windy too. Maybe I'll try to go back to sleep

Good Morning!!!! 57F @ 6:00AM. Sunny. High near 75F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

Good to see none of those berries will go to waste, Don. That T&G would be gone in a flash if you were trying to get rid of it out here, and for good money, too.

It's not every day you get good news at the dentist, Wng. You should buy a lottery ticket while your luck holds!

Yamaha is a very diverse company, isn't it? Electronics of all sorts, motorcycles, musical instruments, golf carts (and clubs, and even resorts), factory automation equipment, somehow all under one roof.

Did you drive the Monte Carlo on your trip, Randy? How'd it ride?

Shopping done; brought home so much food it almost didn't all fit into the refrigerator! Nobody's goin' home hungry this weekend. Another batch of chili is slow cooking in the Instant Pot, sure hope there's no leftovers 'cause there's no place to put 'em.

Mowed a few spots for the camper's tents and found a few areas where the lupins are really thick. Really pretty outside right now. Now all that's left to do is clean out the garage and make room for the worker bees. Hope I don't lose anything in the clean up this year. Seems like something always ends up being put someplace where it'll be safe, so safe I never see it again.:confused2:

Chris's wife Rebecca is a photographer and always takes great pics. It might take a few days (or weeks) to get them, but I'll post a few when they're available. I usually take a few snaps with the phone, and will slip a few of those up if I get the chance. The RSVPs are down from last year, which I think will be a good thing because too many people just gets too crazy trying to keeping them all happy.

Wow, that chili smells good from here. Might have to have some for breakfast, just to make sure it's OK for the guests.:licking::laughing:

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

It's 31* with rain and snow showers and foggy. I guess I missed this in the forecast. I thought it was supposed to be partly cloudy and a little cooler then yesterday. Yesterday was the nicest of the season so far mid 60's sunny and no wind. They are saying a 70% chance of rain for today and windy, with the high in the 40's.

Talked to the neighbor yesterday and he is going to rework a snowmobile trailer. He wants it for the side by side he hopes to get soon. It's been setting for a few years and needs some work. I was planning on helping him today if he works on it.

Hope everyone has a good start to the weekend.
CWB.

49 degrees this morning, 54 now, going for a high of 68. And we have a forecast of an 80% chance of rain tomorrow. So I went to Home Depot for Scotts Turf Builder for Southern Lawns and applied a heavy dose to all the yard in hopes of getting a good rain tomorrow, so I don't run up the water bill.

Kyle, if you like Yamaha pics, until Mostly can post his here is one I just bought (Not quite as many watts as his will be and definitely not as good in mud )

Nice, but you might not want to get it muddy. Did you consider the matching pre-amp?

I have been a Yamaha fan since my first 1976 RD400 C 2 stroke street rocket... I worked at a small dealership for about 4 years while juggling college and girls, in no particular order.

Major Bummer. We actually got a frost here...White Roof Of Death on my truck this morning.
Will quickly melt but a real blast of cold clear air now in this area.

Drew, I hope it doesn't harm your garden. I've been telling my wife and kids what a good thing you are trying to do.

Going to work on the chicken coop today...At first I didn't care about aesthetics, but now my daughter wants to do it up in barn red with white trim...So I'm having to rethink some details. And, at the last minute, I decided to incorporate a "pull out tray" to make cleaning easier. The main thing is, I want to have no gaps bigger than an 1/8" anywhere on it, to hopefully keep out the snakes. Need to finish hopefully this weekend....the baby chicks are not little tiny babies anymore.

Stopped to get a breakfast taco this morning and ended up right behind Rick Perry (our US Secretary of Energy). We had a good 10 minute talk, but not about politics, but about family and faith. His dad passed away about a year ago and he was headed to a memorial for him. I didn't dare ask him for a photo with me. I'm not the star struck type.

Don, how many berries did your reinforcements pick? What percent of the crop is ripe? Did you see any of those snakes I dropped off? :)

   / Good morning!!!! #74,771
Good morning to all! Got windy last night, tossing the wind chimes about real good. Calmed down this morning. The weather guessers still say a 50/50 chance of showers or thunderstorms....we'll see. I sure hope this drought ends soon. Temps should be right about 60 today.

Knee is slowly getting better, mornings it's really stiff and a bit of pain until I get moving. Throughout the day not too bad (except after PT), but by the end of the day, starts to get uncomfortable again. It's mending, so that's ok.

Used to love going to the Gettysburg area, lived in Lancaster Co. PA for a couple of years so wasn't too far. Sure do miss the greenery and the 'old time feel' of the area.

Don, do you have an approx size of the room the bead board came out of? The area I would need to cover is about 16' x 16'. Don't blame you for not wanting to count the boards in the building.....wifey said---"would we have to go in that creepy place to get it?" I told her "yea, and?" the rusty metal roof is pretty cool too, lots of uses for 'weathered panels', just a job to get them. What general area of central TX are you located?

Drew, sure hope all the plants made it through the frost OK, hopefully it wasn't too long in the frost period. Glad it worked out w/ the plumbers.

Have to run some errands today, maybe spend a little time in the shop later, if not, that's ok.

Everyone have a great day and be safe. Prayers sent out for those needing them.

Clear and mostly sunny 30F start to the morning with a coating of snow covering everything. It looks like the NE will experience a decent run of dry weather starting this weekend until mid-week next week with warming temperatures.

LS- Your knee is definitely healing. Your reported pattern of pain/stiffness is similar to what I experienced with my ACL repair.

Drew- I hope that your plants survive the frost. Around here no one really gardens until Memorial Day unless they have cold frames or greenhouses.

My chives that sprouted through the snow are looking a little "frost nipped."

I have more crowned molars than non-crowned. A couple of my crowns are chipped and one is cracked w/o any pain nor sensitivity yet. When that crown starts complaining I'll get it replaced. I wonder just how many dentists' children the I have put through private schools, colleges, and graduate schools?

I am now sitting in a hospital waiting room. Waiting for my bud to recover from his endoscopy and drive him home.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all.

I hope that everyone has a decent day today and a decent weekend.

LS, keep working that knee. Make sure you PT it to the extents your doctor recommends. Hope it gets better fast!

Hard to believe it is still snowing up north.

Dentistry is expensive, but we have a great dentist here in town that is reasonable.

Delivery of moving POD was uneventful yesterday, load shifted and it took a bit of work to get door open, but all good.

Mostly settled on shed design so we can start on that this weekend.

Daughter and soninlaw made offer on some land, exciting for them, should hear tonight if it was accepted (or extended). It is less than an hour from our house so not bad. They are thinking they might build (themselves) a shop/house combo. It is becoming more popular around here.

67°F and another .6 inches rain.
Friday again, where did the week go?

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Freedom, the smile at the very end of your video says many things without a single word :-
aren't FELs great - phew, nothing went wrong - 4 in 1 buckets are really neat - I have a wonderful wife.
Did I miss anything ? :)

Pretty much. Also I was glad to have finally pulled the stump out. Didn't get that on video, but the the wheels were digging some holes in pretty good before it came out, and two of the roots had been cut. I wasn't sure the stump was going to go!

sitting in kitchen watching clock to bring in tomatoes after just one hour outside.
Like Hunt For Red October....One ping only Vasilly....;)
Tomorrow two hours. Etc. Not doing this again but also not going to give up on 200 tomato plants.
Trying to improve on 100% mortality. Should be easy...

Brunswick cabbage still not doing anything, I keep looking inside to see if something round is growing in there.
Sweet potatoes planted, and entire garden hoed. Plus rest of melons planted. Did not get sunflowers planted, going to do that this weekend.
Sure should have been more careful with turnip seeds, tiny little balls and wow did they germinate. Thinking about trying to start another row six inches away with some of the thinned plants, which far outnumber the keepers. I think this was 1/4 of an ounce, gazillions of seeds in there.
Purple Top White Globe.
Blackberries are flowering and blueberries are making berries.
and that unusual green berry is a ???

Carolina pineberry
local variant of strawberry, not as sweet but cool looking

Got back home a little after 2, tired but no worse for wear. Got Ellenç—´ dadç—´ birthday tonight, he is 82, looks about 67-70. Took a few pics. Two of my grandsons and their other grand Mom. And some shots of the Shenandoah.
