53 going to 65and rain this afternoon.

Randy, well said about our blessings, and RNG, you are right recognizing the delivery folks what they do.

riptides, I feel for you but glad to see you are able to appreciate the little things. Hope today is a good day for you both.

Farmer, sure hope your family and relatives get well before Christmas.

LS owner, good to hear from you and your words of wisdom. I think the answer to your question is "to keep us on our toes." Any snow on top of Sandia Peak?

Replaced a valve in one of our toilets yesterday...had been very slow to refill...wife very happy...roasted some coffee to give away, and took Coco to the river. Also installed the new modem/router that came with our DSL upgrade...Don, speed has noticeably improved...but I haven't had a chance to test to see if range is better...we had no dead spots in the house, and could pick up a signal outside, so hoping that is just as good or better.

Good morning all, 47 this morning going to 62 with 100% chance of rain. Up late this morning, oatmeal made. Don't know what I will get into today, will see.

Roy, Happy 21st.

Praying everyone is feeling better.

Have a great day. Ed

Need to pour second cup of coffee. 31ー with light snow this morning. Heading to 33ー with cloudy skies. Got the shelves installed yesterday. After unloading chipper I dug the manual out. Looks I need 7 gallons of hydraulic oil. So a trip of TSC in on the list. Then to HF for some caster wheels. May start assembly of chipper.
I can not get into the Kuerig coffee. Every time I have had coffee from one it is way to strong for me. Even if it says mild. So I am still using a Mister Coffee with a SS thermo pot. It brew the coffee and then shuts off. Hot coffee for 4+ hours. A TBN coffee cup needs a wide bottom so it cannot be knocked over easily.
Drew, be careful with your new Bush Hog. Maybe a good walk through is need before doing any cutting.
Buckeye, stay with the doctors orders. Enjoy the coming Holidays with lots of rest.
Riptides, prayer for your wife and you.
Happy Anniversary Mr and Mrs Roy.
David, maybe you need to buy 2 water pumps. For the next breakdown. :D
Good Morning All.

Rough night. 38 outside this AM. Freezing city rain overhead.

Hope all have a great day. Do not forget to do your best math for the contest.
I need to visit my friend, the Keurig.

Merry Christmas.

Ron, good advice, thanks. I usually do walk unknown areas, and always do with the finish mower.
Backing up into brush one hopes to hear a bang or two. But not a BANG
I worry most about old barb wire fences and things that can wrap around the spindles. I can't do any more clearing out next door until
someone goes in there with big loppers and a chain saw, and not sure that's going to be me.

Though I intend to do just that on my own place today, clear out a section by the road on the far side of the farm. Might sell it as a building lot some day.

21 right now...high in the lower to mid 30's.
Snow appears to be over....for a while. There's supposed to be a lull in the weather, then freezing rain and additional snow later the morning into the evening. I just plugged the tractor in...head out in about an hour or so.

Thanks to all for the anniversary congratulations...wish one of you had reminded me yesterday!

My NY son and girlfriend and cat just arrived from their drive down here...now they've gone to bed.

Congrats on the engagements. Don, is this Christy? Tell her to plan it same day as fish fry, and all the food will be already be made :).

Good morning, 29 degrees and everything is covered in ice from the rain yesterday the driveway and sidewalks are like glass. Having first cup of coffee watching for the sun to come up over the lake before I attempt to make my way to the garage to get som magnesium on the ice. Forecast is for freezing rain and wife wants to go shopping at the casino stores. I think it's a good day to stay in watch old John Wayne movies and eat her Christmas cookies, but I know that I'll end up taking her.

Enjoy the day all.

I can not get into the Kuerig coffee. Every time I have had coffee from one it is way to strong for me. Even if it says mild.

That's the same with me. That's why I let my wife have the first brew and leave the pod in and I have the second brew. If I get up earlier I use the adjustable pod where I put the amount of coffee I want (1/2) in the self-fill pod.

Good morning! 37˚ party cloudy skies. They said it was suppose to get in the twenties this weekend but now they say in the mid thirties.
Wngsprd, no it's her sister. Excellent idea her "Date" is arg. I hope she is flexible. It took 10 years to move the VFD fish fry to a cooler month, it's now in late September. That would take care of the stage, chairs, tents, food, etc, I wonder if she would be OK with having an VFD Auction instead of a dance. I have a feeling this will be a hard sell to her and the VFD. . . . . . . . .:roll eyes:
At least I know when Roy's anniversary is so I can warn him next year.

   / Good morning!!!! #66,494
well, I guess we are entered already...going to be a lot of jockeying down to the wire...
Is there someplace on this site where this is mentioned?

Warm day today, should be mostly dry, then rain moving in tonight, and a wet week next week with little snow indicators in the forecast.
But then snow here is usually one inch...

Not sure what I'm doing today. Might go do a little more woods clearing. And need to bring in firewood and stock up.
49 degrees going to 71 today.

Roy congrats on your anniversary. Hope everyone else is doing ok and getting well for Christmas.
Have to enter a date in the thread over in news and feedback.

Good Morning!!!! 43F @ 5:30AM. Sunshine and a few clouds. High near 55F. Winds light and variable.

The small front dropped through overnight but didn't leave any rain behind, and the next ten days are dry as well. Good travel days all.

Hope those of you that are iced in have the luxury of staying in until it melts; nothing quite like doing donuts on the way to the store to get your heart started.

Drew, my neighbor has a tendency to throw his fence wire onto my side, where they wrap around whatever mower blades I happen to be using. Sometimes that means going at it with a pair of side cutters and Vice Grips, observing proper safety precautions with blocking and no keys in the ignition. And renewed wonder at the carelessness of my fellow man.

We're still pulling for you and your wife, Rip, hoping she comes through the worst of it real soon.

The battery on the touring bike made it through two load tests just fine yesterday, so I put on the fancy any-battery-you-got Optimate charger and it quickly came back to full charge. Usually if a battery is bad, it'll go into the de-sulfate mode, and it'll take overnight before it shows a full charge. But often it'll give up, signaling it's time for a trip to the battery store.

Too cold to give the bike a bath, so settled for a rub down with Lemon Pledge and a soft towel. I like to use Plexus instead, but the cost has gone through the roof and I now try to save that for just the plastic windscreens.

Email from the transmission builder recommends lots of parts, which I'd probably go for if I was planning to ride the old bike on a regular basis. But it'll be more of a nice Sunday morning putt putt bike, so I think I'll pass on a large number of the recommendations.

Hope everyone enjoys their long Christmas weekend...

It's down to 24* this morning. No new snow overnight. But they are saying we still have a 60% chance of getting some today. With the wind in 25-30 mph range.

Roy. Happy anniversary. Wishing you and your wife the best.

Need to put new hinges and hasp on the tool box, I'll see about getting that done today. Not much else going on.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Good afternoon. All the family safely arrived last night and this morning, so we are all set for Christmas. The 7 year old accompanied me on a walk round the fields this morning. He got caked in mud and a fair amount of it got transferred to our inside walls when we came back. You can guess who got the blame for that :ashamed:

Not sure how easy it is for you to get hold of BBC programs but for those with an interest in autism, a drama series called "The A Word" may appeal . Set in the Lake district it tells the story of a young boy obsessed by pop songs and how his parents and wider family adjust themselves as he starts to grow up. A mixture of sad, funny, thought provoking and frustrating. Always somewhere along his journey there will be something uplifting that ultimately makes it very rewarding to watch.

So you guys like colored water? :D
