Thank goodness for cousins! I hope she was as happy to see you as you were to see her!

Oh yes. When my cousins girlfriend called she did not know who she was calling or that we had lost whipper. She said she saw the ad in the paper but they could not get close enough to take a picture, I knew then that the dog was probably Whipper because she is so shy.

When we got to the hay field Whipper was about 100 yards away starting to walk away when I called her, she recognized us, and then she came running full speed (see first pic). On the way home she was sitting on the floorboard of my truck her eyes were all wet and she was shaking, just staring at us not wanting to let us out of her sight.

Whipper is very sore but she is in good shape and actually looks like she gained weight. My cousin said they have seen her around the hayfield since Thursday but did not see the ad in the Giddings paper till today. They were going to leave some food out for her if it wasn't Whipper. My cousin refused the reward. He was still baling when I went back so I left a thank you note on his truck to give to his girlfriend with the reward.

Whipper is sleeping under her shade tree now, later we will go for a golf cart ride.

That's great news, but after this much time, I really wasn't expecting Whipper to get back home.

Today was day eight of her going missing. I was going to take the signs down. I'm glad I could take down the signs after being found instead of giving up hope.

The kids are in their late 20's are early 30's. I think only 3 out of 16 of them had ever shot a gun. Some did all right but some of them looked a bit afraid until they shot a few rounds. I had a good time helping them.

I'm happy that you got Whipper back ,safe n sound..

Great that Whipper was found. He’s a lucky dog! My guys are laying out on the couch. I had to move to the recliner.

Really didn’t get much done today, we had lunch with my brother in law, and sister. Then back home, I hung out, surfed the web, my wife went to rural king with a girlfriend. So not bad, but really got to get moving on a couple of things!

Hopefully Whipper will get a stern instruction not to worry you so much in the future ... :)

Well, technically, I left first during the thunderstorm last Sunday, so she is saying that I ran away and she has been looking for me for a week. She still thinks that she found me.

I'm looking into trackable collars. As soon as I have enough information I'll start a thread in "Rural Living".

Whipper's sleeping comfortably on her bed on the back porch. Her paw is moving like she is dreaming she is still traveling. She was moving so slowly this evening I couldn't take he on a golf cart run, maybe tomorrow when she is recovered.

So true. Did you tell her you would be back after church?

Don, this is great news! My daughter asked if she will sleep inside? I've told many people about whipper, and that you've had a sad year (losing your brother and father). It seemed to me that before whipper, you were not really a "dog" guy, but I've noticed how over the years you've really grown attached to her.

I'm so glad she found y'all again. I still worry about the coyotes. My FIL says they've lost some big dogs to coyotes in his lifetime. Maybe whipper needs another dog for "back up".
